Human pose estimation has given rise to a broad spectrum of novel and compelling applications, including action recognition, sports analysis, as well as surveillance. However, accurate video pose estimation remains an open challenge. One aspect that has been overlooked so far is that existing methods learn motion clues from all pixels rather than focusing on the target human body, making them easily misled and disrupted by unimportant information such as background changes or movements of other people. Additionally, while the current Transformer-based pose estimation methods has demonstrated impressive performance with global modeling, they struggle with local context perception and precise positional identification. In this paper, we try to tackle these challenges from three aspects: (1) We propose a bilayer Human-keypoint Mask module that performs coarse-to-fine visual token refinement, which gradually zooms in on the target human body and keypoints while masking out unimportant figure regions. (2) We further introduce a novel deformable cross attention mechanism and a bidirectional separation strategy to adaptively aggregate spatial and temporal motion clues from constrained surrounding contexts. (3) We mathematically formulate the deformable cross attention, constraining that the model focuses solely on the regions centered at the target person body. Empirically, our method achieves state-of-the-art performance on three large-scale benchmark datasets. A remarkable highlight is that our method achieves an 84.8 mean Average Precision (mAP) on the challenging wrist joint, which significantly outperforms the 81.5 mAP achieved by the current state-of-the-art method on the PoseTrack2017 dataset. The Keras deep learning framework is employed to study MRI brain data in a preliminary analysis of brain structure using a convolutional neural *** results obtained are matched with the content of personality *** Big Five personality traits provide easy differentiation for dividing personalities into different *** now,the highest accuracy obtained from the results of personality prediction from the analysis of brain structure is about 70%.Although there is still no effective evidence to prove a clear relationship between brain structure and personality,the obtained results could prove helpful in understanding the basic relationship between brain structure and personality characteristics.

A Novel Method for Prediction of Protein Domain Using Distance-Based Maximal Entropy

Detecting the boundaries of protein domains is an important and challenging task in both experimental and computational structural biology. In this paper, a promising method for detecting the domain structure of a protein from sequence information alone is presented. The method is based on analyzing multiple sequence alignments derived from a database search. Multiple measures are defined to quantify the domain information content of each position along the sequence. Then they are combined into a single predictor using support vector machine. What is more important, the domain detection is first taken as an imbal- anced data learning problem. A novel undersampling method is proposed on distance-based maximal entropy in the feature space of Support Vector Machine （SVM）. The overall precision is about 80%. Simulation results demonstrate that the method can help not only in predicting the complete 3D structure of a protein but also in the machine learning system on general im- balanced datasets.

Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites can be used to assist maritime wireless communications for data transmission across wide-ranging areas. However, extensive coverage of LEO satellites, combined with openness of channels, can cause the communication process to suffer from security risks. This paper presents a low-altitude friendly-jamming LEO satellite-maritime communication system enabled by a unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to ensure data security at the physical layer. Since such a system requires trade-off policies that balance the secrecy rate and energy consumption of the UAV to meet evolving scenario demands, we formulate a secure satellite-maritime communication multi-objective optimization problem (SSMCMOP). In order to solve the dynamic and long-term optimization problem, we reformulate it into a Markov decision process. We then propose a transformer-enhanced soft actor critic (TransSAC) algorithm, which is a generative artificial intelligence-enable deep reinforcement learning approach to solve the reformulated problem, so that capturing global dependencies and diversely exploring weights. Simulation results demonstrate that the TransSAC outperforms various baselines, and achieves an optimal secrecy rate while effectively minimizing the energy consumption of the UAV. HVIS: A Human-like Vision and Inference System for Human Motion Prediction

Grasping the intricacies of human motion, which involve perceiving spatio-temporal dependence and multi-scale effects, is essential for predicting human motion. While humans inherently possess the requisite skills to navigate this issue, it proves to be markedly more challenging for machines to emulate. To bridge the gap, we propose the Human-like Vision and Inference System (HVIS) for human motion prediction, which is designed to emulate human observation and forecast future movements. HVIS comprises two components: the human-like vision encode (HVE) module and the human-like motion inference (HMI) module. The HVE module mimics and refines the human visual process, incorporating a retina-analog component that captures spatiotemporal information separately to avoid unnecessary crosstalk. Additionally, a visual cortex-analogy component is designed to hierarchically extract and treat complex motion features, focusing on both global and local features of human poses. The HMI is employed to simulate the multi-stage learning model of the human brain. The spontaneous learning network simulates the neuronal fracture generation process for the adversarial generation of future motions. Subsequently, the deliberate learning network is optimized for hard-to-train joints to prevent misleading learning. Experimental results demonstrate that our method achieves new state-of-the-art performance, significantly outperforming existing methods by 19.8% on Human3.6M, 15.7% on CMU Mocap, and 11.1% on G3D. © 2025, CC BY.

SpatioTemporal Learning for Human Pose Estimation in Sparsely-Labeled Videos

Human pose estimation in videos remains a challenge, largely due to the reliance on extensive manual annotation of large datasets, which is expensive and labor-intensive. Furthermore, existing approaches often struggle to capture long-range temporal dependencies and overlook the complementary relationship between temporal pose heatmaps and visual features. To address these limitations, we introduce STDPose, a novel framework that enhances human pose estimation by learning spatiotemporal dynamics in sparsely-labeled videos. STDPose incorporates two key innovations: 1) A novel Dynamic-Aware Mask to capture long-range motion context, allowing for a nuanced understanding of pose changes. 2) A system for encoding and aggregating spatiotemporal representations and motion dynamics to effectively model spatiotemporal relationships, improving the accuracy and robustness of pose estimation. STDPose establishes a new performance benchmark for both video pose propagation (i.e., propagating pose annotations from labeled frames to unlabeled frames) and pose estimation tasks, across three large-scale evaluation datasets. Additionally, utilizing pseudo-labels generated by pose propagation, STDPose achieves competitive performance with only 26.7% labeled data. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The cooperation in mixed cooperative-competitive tasks has drawn significant attention in multi-agent deep reinforcement learning. Agents need to cooperate with their teammates while competing against their opponents. However, most existing works treat the cooperative agents and competitive agents equally as they perform the same operation on all the agents. As a result, without distinguishing between cooperative and competitive agents, they may suffer from information disorder in learning an optimally cooperative policy and struggle to decide on the next step action. To address the above issues, we decompose the final Q-value into a weighted combination of three parts: the Q-values of the cooperative agents, the competitive group, and the current agent. A theoretical proof of the correctness of the decomposition is provided. With this decomposition, we are able to consider cooperative and competitive agents separately. Accordingly, we propose a multi-agent actor-critic algorithm called actor-double-attention-critic (ADAC) under centralized training and decentralized execution according to the decomposition. In ADAC, networks with group-specific attention and an attentional weighting network are specially designed. With the designed double-attention structure, ADAC can capture the distributions from different agents and improve cooperation performance. Extensive experiments are conducted in three scenarios with nine settings against six representative methods. The results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed ADAC model against state-of-the-art methods in various mixed cooperative-competitive tasks. © 2000-2011 IEEE.

A Two-Dimensional Improvement for Farr-Gao Algorithm

Farr-Gao algorithm is a state-of-the-art algorithm for reduced Gr?bner bases of vanishing ideals of finite points, which has been implemented in Maple as a build-in command. This paper presents a two-dimensional improvement for it that employs a preprocessing strategy for computing reduced Gr?bner bases associated with tower subsets of given point sets. Experimental results show that the preprocessed Farr-Gao algorithm is more efficient than the classical one.

Efficient and Privacy-Preserving Weighted Nearby-Fit Spatial keyword Query in Cloud

In the modern digital landscape, integrating geographic locations and textual descriptions within a geo-textual dataset enhances location-based services (LBS) via spatial keyword queries, as these queries combine spatial and textual information to deliver more precise and personalized results. Additionally, the advent of cloud computing allows data owners to outsource data management and services to the cloud, boosting scalability but introducing efficiency challenges due to complex encryption. Although many schemes have been proposed for spatial keyword queries on encrypted geo-textual data, none supports matching a query keyword set with the keyword sets of multiple objects, a common query type in LBS. Imagine a user seeking to rent a house close to his/her workplace, with easy access to conveniences like supermarkets. By using nearby-fit spatial keyword queries, we can match the desired house with a house-type target object and its nearby amenities, offering more practical and flexible recommendations than traditional spatial keyword queries. Hence, in this paper, we introduce an efficient and privacy-preserving scheme called the Privacy-preserving Weighted Nearby-fit Spatial keyword (PWNSK) query scheme. First, we design a target-oriented spatial keyword (TOSK) tree for data organization and a TOSK tree based WNSK query algorithm for efficient pruning by simultaneously utilizing locations, keywords, and distances from nearby objects to target objects. For privacy, we develop several protocols, including one for polynomial coefficient re-encoding, based on polynomial coefficient encoding and fully homomorphic encryption. Building on these protocols, we introduce our PWNSK scheme. A thorough security analysis confirms its robustness, while extensive experiments also showcase its effectiveness. © 2014 IEEE.

Research and analysis of psychological data based on machine learning methods

The integration of psychology and computer science has become the mainstream contemporary research method on psychological data. Weibo, China's largest open platform for communication and information sharing between users, has many emotional contents hidden in its data. According to the current trend, the Weibo data are segmented by machine learning to obtain a psychological portrait of Weibo users. This design uses Long and Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to perform sentiment classification on Weibo data. The classification results are analysed using word frequency analysis and the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) model to obtain portraits of Weibo users' sentiment and an analysis of the results. The results are displayed in the form of word clouds. According to the clustering results of the word clouds, the main factors affecting different polar emotions can be analysed. © 2022 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.. All rights reserved.
