Medical image segmentation is a crucial computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) procedure in various clinical applications. However, most existing methods rely on pixel-level annotations, which are costly and time-consuming. We propose a novel contrastive fusion model of generative and discriminative lesion maps for weakly supervised medical image segmentation to address this limitation. The generative lesion map is generated by a lesion region-guided cycle-consistent adversarial network (CCANet), and the discriminative lesion map is produced by a class-aware-based discriminative lesion localization network (DLLNet). CCANet and DLLNet share weights at the encoder layer, which contains skip connections and channel attention modules to enhance feature embedding. In order to fully utilize and integrate the generative and discriminative lesion maps, and improve the segmentation accuracy, we design a fusion method based on contrastive loss to jointly train CCANet and DLLNet. The final lesion segmentation result is obtained by applying dense conditional random fields (Dense CRF) to the fused lesion map. Extensive experiments on three benchmark medical image datasets show that our model outperforms the state-of-the-art methods on weakly supervised medical image segmentation, especially in datasets with few samples, validating the proposed model's good generalization ability and robustness in various medical image segmentation scenarios. Localization algorithm based on optimal nodes for wireless sensor networks

Because of restricted energy of the sensor nodes, the location error, costs of communication and computation should be considered in localization algorithms. The DV-Hop algorithm was detailedly analyzed and the main reasons for the error were pointed out, aiming at the different position anchor nodes' effect on location error, a novel localization algorithm called DV-Hop_Bon (DV-Hop based on optimal nodes) based on optimal nodes was put forward. Finally, it was simulated on Matlab, the results of the simulation show that the novel localization algorithm improves the localization precision with a short communication radius. Therefore it can be applied to wireless sensor networks widely.

Multimodal Hypothetical Summary for Retrieval-based Multi-image Question Answering

Retrieval-based multi-image question answering (QA) task involves retrieving multiple question-related images and synthesizing these images to generate an answer. Conventional "retrieve-then-answer" pipelines often suffer from cascading errors because the training objective of QA fails to optimize the retrieval stage. To address this issue, we propose a novel method to effectively introduce and reference retrieved information into the QA. Given the image set to be retrieved, we employ a multimodal large language model (visual perspective) and a large language model (textual perspective) to obtain multimodal hypothetical summary in question-form and description-form. By combining visual and textual perspectives, MHyS captures image content more specifically and replaces real images in retrieval, which eliminates the modality gap by transforming into text-to-text retrieval and helps improve retrieval. To more advantageously introduce retrieval with QA, we employ contrastive learning to align queries (questions) with MHyS. Moreover, we propose a coarse-to-fine strategy for calculating both sentence-level and word-level similarity scores, to further enhance retrieval and filter out irrelevant details. Our approach achieves a 3.7% absolute improvement over state-of-the-art methods on RETVQA and a 14.5% improvement over CLIP. A Fuzzy Clustering Based Collaborative Filtering Algorithm for Time-aware POI Recommendation

Location based social network develops and gets widely concern along with the population and widespread use of mobile. Point of interest(POI) recommendation become one of the most widely application among location-based service. To get better POI recommendation performance, a fuzzy clustering based collaborative filtering algorithm (FCCF) for time-aware POI recommendation is proposed in this paper. It first constructs the user feature vector from users' check-in behaviours. Individual's check-in behaviour can be under the influence of location region and time slots, so user's feature consists of two parts. One is the vising frequency of each user in different location regions, and the other is the vising frequency of each user in different time slots. Next fuzzy c-means is adopted due to its simplicity to group users according to user feature vector. Then the user similarity computation can be limited in the similar small user groups. In the end, a collaborative filtering algorithm is applied to recommend a number of top-N POIs at a given time for the target user. Some experiments are conducted and the comparative results on Foursquare and Gowalla show that FCCF has higher precision and recall value than the comparative algorithms.

The evolutionary algorithm has become a major method for neural architecture search recently. However, the fixed probability distribution adopted by the traditional evolutionary algorithm makes the algorithm unable to control the increase or decrease of the individual architecture size and thus cannot guarantee the lightweight and inference efficiency of the candidate architecture. In addition, the existing approaches cannot learn the optimal sampling probability distribution relevant to the specific problem from the empirical information accumulated through the search process. What’s more, the algorithm needs to evaluate the performance of all the individual architectures, which requires huge computing resources and time overhead. To overcome these problems and challenges, an Efficient Self-learning Evolutionary Neural Architecture Search method, called ESE-NAS, is presented in this paper. Firstly, we propose a Model Size Control module, which generates the probability distribution for sampling the type of mutation operators according to the current model size, so as to control both the node number of network architecture and the sparsity of links, therefore ensuring that neural architectures can remain compact and efficient as they evolve. Thereafter, a Mutation Candidate Credit Assignment method is proposed, which enables the algorithm to dynamically adjust the probability distribution for available types of node operations and directed links according to the empirical information from individuals’ performance evaluation, which can guide the evolutionary direction of neural architecture and shorten the first hitting time of the optimal architecture. Finally, a neural architecture performance predictor is formulated, and the accuracy of each individual architecture is predicted by using the simplified input features, to further improve the efficiency of neural architecture search. Recent developments in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and mobile edge computing (MEC) have provided users with flexible and resilient computing services. However, meeting the computing-intensive and latency-sensitive demands of users poses a significant challenge due to the limited resources of UAVs. To address this challenge, we present a multi-objective optimization approach for multi-UAV-assisted MEC systems. First, we formulate a multi-objective optimization problem aiming at minimizing the total task completion delay, reducing the total UAV energy consumption, and maximizing the total amount of offloaded tasks by jointly optimizing task offloading, computation resource allocation, and UAV trajectory control. Since the problem is a mixed-integer non-linear programming (MINLP) and NP-hard problem which is challenging, we propose a joint task offloading, computation resource allocation, and UAV trajectory control (JTORATC) approach to solve the problem. However, since the decision variables of task offloading, computation resource allocation, and UAV trajectory control are coupled with each other, the original problem is split into three sub-problems, i.e., task offloading, computation resource allocation, and UAV trajectory control, which are solved individually to obtain the corresponding decisions. Moreover, the sub-problem of task offloading is solved by using distributed splitting and threshold rounding methods, the sub-problem of computation resource allocation is solved by adopting the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) method, and the sub-problem of UAV trajectory control is solved by employing the successive convex approximation (SCA) method. Link prediction in social network based on local information and attributes of nodes

Link prediction is essential to both research areas and practical applications. In order to make full use of information of the network, we proposed a new method to predict links in the social network. Firstly, we extracted topological information and attributes of nodes in the social network. Secondly, we integrated them into feature vectors. Finally, we used XGB classifier to predict links using feature vectors. Through expanding information source, experiments on a co-authorship network suggest that our method can improve the accuracy of link prediction significantly.

Cancer is a rapidly evolving disease, with complex physiological changes throughout its development. Different patients of the same cancer type may require distinct treatments depending on the level of development. Hence it is essential to identify the genes and biological processes strongly associated with cancer progression to design an effective treatment plan. Our study has found that cancer samples of the same development stage (or grade, subtype) tend to share highly unique co-expression patterns, providing considerably stronger discerning power than differential expressions for cancer staging (and grading, subtyping). Based on this, we have developed a framework for identification and analyses of genes and pathways strongly associated with a cancer's development through identification of co-expression patterns that become increasingly stronger or weaker over cancer samples from early through advanced stages. Functional analyses of such co-expressed genes reveal that (1) cell-cycle, immune response, ribosome, proteasome and oxidative phosphorylation, among others, strongly associate with cancer development, (2) the co-expression patterns among ribosome, proteasome and oxidative phosphorylation genes tend to become increasingly weaker as a cancer advances, for almost all cancer types, and (3) the co-expression patterns among cell cycle and immune response genes tend to become increasingly stronger with cancer progression. We anticipate that co-expression-based analyses like we present here will become a key technique for functional studies of cancer development and evolution.
