This paper is concerned with the steel temperature estimation problem in hot strip mill. We focus on the steel bar temperature estimation during the rough rolling process with the aid of industrial wireless network for its high reliability communication and low power consumptions. However, the mobility of the steel bar and the complexity of the industrial environments have posed new challenges for the temperature monitoring. According to the steel bar's mobility, we propose a distributed sequential estimation algorithm to realize the continuous temperature tracking and gradually remove the estimation error. It consists of a cluster-based estimation algorithm and an initialized fusion algorithm, whose design are based on two criteria, namely, unbiasedness and optimality. Finally, simulation studies are presented to validate the performance of the proposed algorithm.

We propose an approach to improving the detection results of a generic offline trained detector on frames from a specific video. For two consecutive frames of a video with the object, deformable part model(DPM) detection is perform to get the original detections. Then respectively obtain the image patches corresponding to the detected root box and part boxes. Thirdly, extract scale invariant feature transform features(SIFT) from those image patches and match the sift features by KD-Tree. Finally, get the SIFTPM detection result of from the matches between image patches of continuous frames. Blood vessel segmentation is an important problem for quantitative structure analysis of retinal images, and many diseases are related to the structure changes. Manual segmentation is time consuming and computer aided segmentation is required to deal with large amount images. This paper presents a new supervised method for segmentation of blood vessels in retinal photographs. Multiple kernel learning (MKL) is introduced to deal with the problem, utilizing features from Hessian matrix based vesselness measure, response of multiscale Gabor filter, and multiple scale line strength features. The method is evaluated on the publicly available DRIVE and STARE databases. The performance of the MKL method is evaluated and experimental results show the high accuracy of the proposed method.

This paper is considered with the H ∞ observer design problem for a class of nonlinear systems with the one-sided Lipschitz condition. The systems under consideration include the well-studied Lipschitz system as a special case and possess inherent advantages with respect to conservativeness. For such systems in the presence of noises, we develop a Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) based approach to design a nonlinear H ∞ observer by carefully dealing with the one-sided Lipschitz condition together with the quadratic inner-bounded condition. The resulting nonlinear H ∞ observer guarantees asymptotic stability of the estimation error dynamics with a prescribed H ∞ performance. Moreover, for the design purpose, the existence condition of the proposed nonlinear H ∞ observer is formulated in terms of LMIs by using a matrix generalized inverse technique. Finally, a simulation example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed design.

The pseudo transient-analysis method is regarded as one of the most effective method to find DC operating points for nonlinear circuits. In this paper, we combine the ramping method and the damped pseudo-transient analysis algorithm together in order to improve the simulation efficiency. By combing the two algorithms together, the oscillation problem and time-consuming problems can be greatly eliminated. Numerical examples are shown to demonstrate the efficiency of proposed algorithms.

Software testing is one of the most important techniques used to assure the quality of software service. An intricate issue in software testing is the determination of test orders for the integration test of classes, known as the class integration and test order (CITO) problem. The determination of such order has an influence on the cost of created stubs for classes, which is an error-prone and costly process. To minimize the cost of stubbing, this paper describes a coupling measure technique to estimate the complexity of each test stub, and presents a graph-based heuristic algorithm of removing node with the highest weights to break cycles for minimizing overall complexity of stubbing. Also, an adjacency matrix and depth-first search for finding all the paths is presented. Simulation experimental results show that the overall test stub complexity decreased which greatly improves test efficiency and reduces the test cost to some extent compared with others.

This paper addresses the problem of infinite time performance of model predictive controllers applied to constrained nonlinear systems. The total performance is compared with a finite horizon optimal cost to reveal performance limits of closed-loop model predictive controlsystems. Based on the Principle of Optimality, an upper and a lower bound of the ratio between the total performance and the finite horizon optimal cost are obtained explicitly expressed by the optimization horizon. The results also illustrate, from viewpoint of performance, how model predictive controllers approaches to infinite optimal controllers as the optimization horizon increases.

In order to evaluate performance of any image mosaic algorithm objectively, a complete evaluation indicators system is constructed in this paper based on reference panoramas or non-reference panoramas. The involved indicators reflect human visual effect, image registration accuracy and image fusion effect. Then the formula of registration error (RE) is improved from TRE. M eanwhile, a blind evaluation approach related on the indicators system is proposed to avoid any manual interventions and to keep the computational simplicity. Exhaustive tests show that the proposed approach can reflect performance of image mosaic algorithm comprehensively and the result of experiment is consistent with subjective evaluation.
