Compressible thermoplastic polyurethane/silver nanorod foams for absorption dominant electromagnetic interference shielding

Conductive polymer composites(CPCs)have attracted significant interest in the field of flexible electro-magnetic protection,but the challenge of balancing high electromagnetic interference shielding effec-tiveness(EMI SE)and low reflection losses still ***,thermoplastic polyurethane/silver nanorod(TPU/AgNR)composite foams have been successfully prepared using both the salt template and vacuum-assisted thermal compression *** varying the AgNRs content and employing a layer-by-layer bonding approach,a gradient structure with optimized impedance matching is ***“absorb-reflect-reabsorb”EM attenuation mechanismofthe asymmetricgradientEMI shieldingin theinternal structure is exploited,resulting in TPU/AgNR foam(TAF)with high EMI SE and significantly reduced EM ***,the three-layer foams exhibit an average shielding efficacy of 35.5 dB and a reflected power coefficient(R)of 0.085 in the X-band,thereby substantially mitigating secondary EM wave ***,these foams demonstrate exemplary compressive resilience,with the sample main-taining excellent EMI shielding stability even after undergoing 100 compression cycles at 50%***,a straightforward approach is employed to fabricate materials with high EMI SE and low reflectivity,offering the potential for use in EM shielding applications of next-generation flexible elec-tronic devices.

Neural code models have demonstrated their efficacy across a range of code comprehension tasks, including vulnerability detection, code classification, automatic code summarization, completion, clone detection, etc. Yet, a substantial gap exists in our understanding of the robustness of models in the realm of code comprehension and its associated applications. To probe and illuminate the robustness of code, recent efforts have sought to employ NLP-like techniques to craft adversarial code instances, primarily by perturbing variable and token names. It's worth noting that the semantics of source code predominantly surface through its structural elements, such as abstract syntax trees and control flow graphs, which fundamentally differ from natural languages. The question remains open: Can we perturb the structural aspects of code while preserving its semantics, thereby generating more disruptive adversarial examples that elude current structural-unaware approaches? Moreover, orchestrating adaptive adversarial attacks on diverse neural code models with varying architectures poses formidable challenges, especially in real-world scenarios characterized by constraints on target model access and querying. In this paper, we introduce ALANCA, an active-learning guided adversarial attack framework tailored for neural code models. Leveraging semantic-preserving translations, combined with an adaptive adversarial discriminator and token selector, ALANCA excels in executing adversarial attacks with high success rates, exceptional generation quality, and adaptability across different target models. We substantiate ALANCA's efficacy through comprehensive evaluations across four distinct code comprehension tasks, demonstrating its ability to effectively confound a range of neural models, including pre-trained models and LLMs used in software engineering. © 2024 IEEE.

Controlling the orientation of two-dimensional MXene within layered films is essential to optimize or tune their mechanical properties and electromagnetic interference shielding(EMI)performance,but achieving the high orientation MXene layers on an industrial scale remains a challenging *** this paper,a scalable layer-by-layer blade coating(LbLBC)method was employed to fabricate highly oriented MXene/polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)*** the LbLBC process,MXene/PVA colloid suffered a strong shearing effect,which induced the ordered alignment of MXene nanosheets along the direction of the blade *** orientation of MXene can be effectively adjusted by changing the scraping gap of LbLBC,achieving a maximum Herman orientation factor f of *** a result,the mechanical properties and EMI performance of the as-prepared MXene/PVA films are in direct proportion to their orientation,with the optimal values of tensile strength of 145.5 MPa,fracture strain of 19.6%,toughness of 17.7 MJ·m^(−3),and EMI shielding effectiveness of 36.7 ***,the inherently low mid-infrared(mid-IR)emissivity of MXene,combined with the densely oriented structure affords the composite films with IR stealth,resulting in a substantial decrease from 150 to 66.1℃in the radiative temperature of a ***,these scalable MXene/PVA films exhibit remarkable potential for integration into the next generation of multifunctional protective camouflage materials.

With the widespread use of container technology, attackers may invade the kernel by maliciously executing certain system calls, causing damage to the host and other containers. In order to reduce the attack surface of the underlying system, Docker supports specifying a container's allowlist of system calls with seccomp configurations. Java is a mainstream programming language used by the container projects in the Docker Hub, but how to generate the allowlist of system calls for Java containers is still an open question. Firstly, most of previous efforts about container allowlist of system calls focused on the C/C++ binary code rather than Java bytecode. Secondly, some existing works on Java bytecode mainly paid attention to the security vulnerabilities analysis, and cannot be used to analyze system calls required by Java programs. In this paper, we propose the first bytecode-based system call analysis approach, named SWAT 4J, tailored for Java containers operating on x86-64 architecture. SWAT4J can generate the allowlist of system calls required for Java containers by combining static and dynamic analysis. For static analysis, SWAT4J can identify the indirect calling relationships between Java bytecode and system calls, and determine the system calls required for a containerized application. For dynamic analysis, SWAT4J can trace the system calls required for container startup. The seccomp configuration file is optimized through the combining set of system calls. In the end, we experimented with 5 types of popular open source Java containers projects from Docker Official Images. Compared to 323 system calls in Ubuntu 16.04, SWAT4J successfully reduce the number of system calls by 56.04%-59.44%, and reduce the probability of vulnerabilities without affecting the functionality of the container. © 2024 IEEE.

SGAN-RL: Fusion classification method for network intrusion detection based on data augmentation

Although traditional research methods for intrusion detection can effectively prevent and mitigate issues such as data leaks to avoid severe consequences, existing intrusion detection technologies encounter limitations, including low classification accuracy and high false positive rates, particularly when dealing with high-dimensional, complex network anomaly traffic data. Additionally, the common problem of class imbalance in intrusion detection datasets exacerbates these challenges. This paper introduces a novel approach to network intrusion detection classification, termed SGAN-RL, which integrates ResNet and LSTM models based on the semi-supervised generative adversarial network (SGAN) framework. This method utilizes SGAN to generate synthetic data resembling real intrusion detection data and continually trains the discriminator to produce high-quality data, thereby enhancing data distribution balance and quality. Moreover, a fusion intrusion detection classification model is presented, leveraging the strengths of ResNet and LSTM architectures to capture spatial and temporal features, respectively. This synergistic fusion enhances the model’s capacity for comprehensive data representation, resulting in improved performance in intrusion detection data classification tasks. Experiments conducted on intrusion detection datasets NSL-KDD, UNSW-NB15, and CIC-IDS2017 demonstrate that the proposed model enhances accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, ROC-AUC, PR-AUC, respectively, showcasing its robust performance and reliability in network intrusion detection classification. © 2025 – IOS Press. Dislocations and disclinations are fundamental topological defects within crystals,which determine the mechanical properties of metals and *** their important roles in multiple physical mecha-nisms,e.g.,dynamic recovery and grain boundary mediated plasticity,the intrinsic coupling and corre-lation between disclinations and dislocations,and their impacts on the deformation behavior of metallic materials still remain obscure,partially due to the lack of a theoretical tool to capture the rotational na-ture of *** using a Lie-algebra-based theoretical framework,we obtain a general equation to quantify the intrinsic coupling of disclinations and *** quasi in-situ electron backscat-ter diffraction characterizations and disclination/dislocation density analyses in Mg alloys,the generation,coevolution and reactions of disclinations and dislocations during dynamic recovery and superplastic de-formation have been quantitatively *** has been demonstrated that the obtained governing equa-tion can capture multiple physical processes associated with mechanical deformation of metals,e.g.,grain rotation and grain boundary migration,at both room temperature and high *** establishing the disclination-dislocation coupling equation within a Lie algebra description,our work provides new insights for exploring the coevolution and reaction of disclinations/dislocations,with profound implica-tions for elucidating the microstructure-property relationship and underlying deformation mechanisms in metallic materials.

Effect of ion solvation energy on electrohydrodynamic behavior of ionic liquid droplets in electrospray thrusters

The electrospray thruster supplied by ionic liquid is a promising micro-propulsion thruster with small size and precise thrust, which can emit both cations and anions to achieve self-neutralization. In order to further investigate the effect of ion solvation energy on the evaporation of cations and anions from ionic liquid under the action of a uniform electric field, this paper establishes a transient Electrohydrodynamic (EHD) model for free ionic liquid droplets undergoing ion evaporation. The dynamic processes of droplet deformation and ion evaporation are simulated. And the study further focuses on the influence of different ion solvation energies for cations on the droplet morphology and the ion evaporation characteristics at the positively charged end and negatively charged end of the droplet. The results indicate that, when the ion solvation energy for cations is higher than that of anions, it will cause the ion evaporation at the positively charged end of the droplet to lag behind the ion evaporation at the negatively charged end. And the higher the ion solvation energy for the cations, the longer the evaporation lag time at the positively charged end of the droplet, which will lead to a higher peak of surface charge density that can be reached, resulting in a larger evaporation current and sharper droplet stretching deformation. Additionally, the peak surface charge density of the positively charged end of the droplet is linearly related to the ion solvation energy for cations, while the peak surface charge density of the negatively charged end remains almost unchanged and is not significantly affected by the ion solvation energy for cations.

We designed a large language model evaluation system based on open-ended questions. The system accomplished multidimensional evaluation of LLMs using open-ended questions, and it presented evaluation results with evaluation reports. Currently, the evaluation of large-scale language models often exists with two prominent limitations: (1) The evaluation methods are often single-minded, resulting in less credible results. (2) Most evaluations are based on datasets with closed-ended questions, treating generative large language models as discriminative models, which fails to adequately reflect the high output flexibility characteristic of these models. For these two limitations, we proposed an evaluation system for LLMs based on open-ended questions. Our experiments on the adapted open-source datasets demonstrated the effectiveness of this system. © 2024 IEEE.
