Hologram calculating of 3D object has different computation methods. This paper mainly introduces the principle of slice-based Fresnel diffraction and point-based with Fresnel zone plate (FZP), and analyzes the imaging quality of the numerical reconstruction results by using our proposed methods. The reconstruction results show that Fresnel diffraction method is better in imaging quality. © OSA 2017.

Hybrid plasmonic nanoemitters based on the combination of quantum dot emitters (QD) and plasmonic nanoantennas open up new perspectives in the control of light. However, precise positioning of any active medium at the nanoscale constitutes a challenge. Here, we report on the optimal overlap of antenna’s near-field and active medium whose spatial distribution is controlled via a plasmon-triggered 2-photon polymerization of a photosensitive formulation containing QDs. Au nanoparticles of various geometries are considered. The response of these hybrid nano-emitters is shown to be highly sensitive to the light polarization. Different light emission states are evidenced by photoluminescence measurements. These states correspond to polarization-sensitive nanoscale overlap between the exciting local field and the active medium distribution. The decrease of the QD concentration within the monomer formulation allows trapping of a single quantum dot in the vicinity of the Au particle. The latter objects show polarization-dependent switching in the single-photon regime. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Although the existing rate control algorithm in HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) has achieved relatively high coding efficiency, it is not efficient in ensuring a higher quality for the visually important parts than others in a frame. In this paper, we propose a new rate control algorithm for HEVC based on ROI (Region of Interest), aiming at improving the visual quality while still maintaining the accuracy of rate control. Firstly, a novel method is developed for saliency estimation of the current frame based on spatial and temporal saliency estimation. Then the saliency map is utilized to determine ROI and guide the bits allocation process at the frame level and LCU (Largest Coding Unit) level. Finally the Lagrange multiplier and the quantization parameter will be clipped in a narrow range for smooth visual quality. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can make the output bit rate meet the target number and effectively raise the PSNR of ROI. As a result, the overall visual quality of the encoded sequence is highly improved compared to the original HEVC encoder. © Springer International Publishing AG 2016.

The flexible organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) has attracted a lot of attention because of its very wide and promising application prospect. The flexible encapsulation is a most problem for mass production of flexible OLEDs since their sensitivity to water and oxygen. Traditional flexible encapsulation using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) film as the inorganic layer. However owing to the complicated pattern of sub-layer and particles, the poor step coverage of PECVD film results in bad encapsulation properties. Therefore the plasma enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) is studied on account of its better step coverage and lower growth temperature. Firstly, the PECVD SiNx process has been researched to achieve the low water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) (WVTR<5*10-4g m-2day-1) and low stress (<-300MPa). Then we design several flexible encapsulation films with multilayer structures. The PEALD SiOx film is critical in the multilayer encapsulation films to obtain flexible OLED devices with the best air-stability . Through evaluation of the pass rate after 60oC 90% RH and 85 oC 85% RH for 240h, best structure of flexible encapsulation films has been selected and used in our product.

High-brightness blue organic light emitting diodes with different types of guest-host systems

We demonstrate high-brightness blue organic light emitting diodes(OLEDs) using two types of guest-host systems. A series of blue OLEDs were fabricated using three organic emitters of dibenz anthracene(perylene), di(4-fluorophenyl) amino-di(styryl) biphenyl(DSB) and 4,4'-bis[2-(9-ethyl-3-carbazolyl)vinyl]biphenyl(BCzV Bi) doped into two hosting materials of 4,4'-bis(9-carbazolyl) biphenyl(CBP) and 2-(4-biphenylyl)-5(4-tert-butyl-phenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole(PBD) as blue emitting layers, respectively. We achieve three kinds of devices with colors of deep-blue, pure-blue and sky-blue with the Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage(CIE) coordinates of(0.16, 0.10),(0.15, 0.15) and(0.17, 0.24), respectively, by employing PBD as host material. In addition, we present a microcavity device using the PBD guest-host system and achieve high-purity blue devices with narrowed spectrum.

Recently, the widely use of time-of-flight sensors captures depth information for dynamic scenes in real time, which promotes the developing of many 3D image or video processing applications. However, such depth maps are noisy and have low resolutions. In this paper, we propose an edge-based depth map super-resolution method via solving a labeling optimization problem in MRF. The inputs are low quality depth map and the according high-resolution color image. The proposed method not only avoids the texture-copy artifacts, but also preserves the edges of depth which do not exist in the color image. We compare our algorithm with the state of the art on the benchmark dataset. The experimental results prove the validity and robustness of our approach.

Depth map coding along with its associated texture video plays an important role in the display of 3D scene by Depth Image Based Rendering technique. In this paper, the inter-layer motion prediction in Scalable Video Coding is applied in order to utilize the similarity of the motion data between texture video and its associated depth map. Additionally, in order to preserve the edge in depth map, the edge detection algorithm is proposed in depth map coding, which combines the conventional Sobel edge detection and the block-based coding scheme of SVC. And the dynamic quantization algorithm is proposed to preserve the information of boundary regions of the depth map. Simulation results show that the proposed method achieves the BDPSNR gains from 0.463 dB to 0.941 dB for the depth map, and the Bjøntegaard bitrates savings range from 9.72% to 19.36% for the video plus depth. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2015.

A depth upsampling method based on Markov Random Field is proposed, considering the depth and color information. First, the initial interpolated depth map is inaccurate and oversmooth, we use a rectangle window centered on every pixel to search the maximum and minimum depth value of the depth map to find out the edge pixels. Then, we use the depth information to guide the segmentation of the color image and build different data terms and smoothness terms for the edge and non-edge pixels. The result depth map is piecewise smooth and the edge is sharp. In the meanwhile, the result is good where the color information is consistent while the depth is not or where the depth information is consistent while the color is not. Experiments show that the proposed method performs better than other upsampling methods in terms of mean absolute difference (MAD). © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2015.

The paper proposes a new hybrid error concealment for the multi-view video (MVV). Firstly, the lost macroblocks (MBs) are classified into the static MBs and the motive MBs by the motion information. Then the static MBs are repaired by image inpainting, which is improved to apply to inter and inter-view frame. The motive MBs are fixed by outer boundary matching algorithm (OBMA), in which candidate motion vector (MV) set is also expanded to inter and interview frame. The experimental results show that the hybrid algorithm can conceal the lost MBs with lower complexity and improve the subjective and objective quality, compared with traditional concealment algorithm. © 2015 IEEE.
