An effective discrete artificial bee colony(DABC) algorithm is proposed for the flow shop scheduling problem with intermediate buffers(IBFSP) in order to minimize the maximum completion time(i.e makespan). The effective combination of the insertion and swap operator is applied to producing neighborhood individual at the employed bee phase. The tournament selection is adopted to avoid falling into local optima, while, the optimized insert operator embeds in onlooker bee phase for further searching the neighborhood solution to enhance the local search ability of algorithm. The tournament selection with size 2 is again applied and a better selected solution will be performed destruction and construction of iterated greedy(IG) algorithm, and then the result replaces the worse one. Simulation results show that our algorithm has a better performance compared with the HDDE and CHS which were proposed recently. It provides the better known solutions for the makespan criterion to flow shop scheduling problem with limited buffers for the Car benchmark by Carlier and Rec benchmark by Reeves. The convergence curves show that the algorithm not only has faster convergence speed but also has better convergence value.

In this paper, a velocity adaptive shuffled frog leaping bat algorithm(VASFLBA) is proposed to solve the problem that the bat algorithm(BA) is easy to fall into local optimum and a lack of deep local search ability. Firstly, the influence of the current stochastic local optimal solution on the search of the algorithm is considered. Two adaptive proportional regulation factors are introduced to balance global and local search. Then, the locally deep search ability is enhanced by using the meme transfer mechanism of shuffled frog leaping algorithm(SFLA). In addition, stochastic population competition is introduced to improve the global search ability and when the algorithm trapped in the local optimum, differential mutation operation is performed on the current global optimal bat so that the algorithm can jump out of the local optimum. The superiority of VASFLBA is verified by benchmark test functions. On this basis, VASFLBA is used to optimize the parameters of support vector machine(SVM) in intrusion detection of industrial control system(ICS), and the standard dataset for ICS intrusion detection is used for simulation. The results show that, compared with BA, SFLA and other algorithms, VASFLBA can better solve the problem of SVM parameters selection.

Co-cracking is a process where the mixtures of different hydrocarbon feedstocks are cracked in a steam pyrolysis furnace, and widely adopted in chemical industries. In this work, the simulations of the co-cracking of ethane and propane, and LPG and naphtha mixtures have been conducted, and the software packages of COILSIM1 D and Sim CO are used to account for the cracking process in a tube reactor. The effects of the mixing ratio, coil outlet temperature, and pressure on cracking performance have been discussed in detail. The co-cracking of ethane and propane mixture leads to a lower profitability than the cracking of single ethane or single propane. For naphtha, cracking with LPG leads to a higher profitability than single cracking of naphtha, and more LPG can produce a higher profitability.

This paper addresses a distributed dynamic state estimation problem in large-scale systems characterized by a cyclic network graph. The objective is to develop a distributed estimation algorithm for each node to generate local state estimations, based on the coupled measurements and boundary information exchanged with neighboring nodes. Our proposed approach is grounded in the maximum a posteriori(MAP)estimation method, which yields suboptimal results in acyclic network graphs compared with the centralized MAP approach. We extend this approach to systems with a cyclic network graph. Furthermore, we provide an accuracy analysis by deriving bounds for the differences in estimation error covariance and state estimation between the proposed distributed algorithm and the suboptimal centralized MAP method. These bounds apply to a specific category of systems that satisfy certain conditions, including cyclic topology and sparse connections. We demonstrate that these bounds converge asymptotically, with the rate of convergence determined by the loop-free depth of the graph. The loop-free depth of the graph refers to the maximum number of nodes that can be traversed in a cycle without revisiting any node. Finally, we demonstrate the validity of the algorithm through numerical examples.

A double-layered model predictive control(MPC), which is composed of a steady-state target calculation(SSTC)layer and a dynamic control layer, is a prevailing hierarchical structure in industrial process control. Based on the reason analysis of the dynamic controller infeasibility, an on-line constraints softening strategy is given. At first, a series of regions of attraction(ROA) of the dynamic controller is calculated according to the softened constraints;then a minimal ROA containing the current state is chosen and the corresponding softened constraint is adopted by the dynamic controller. Note that, the above measures are performed on-line because the centers of the above ROA are the steady-state targets calculated at each instant. The effectiveness of the presented strategy is illustrated through two examples.
