Modeling of oil near-infrared spectroscopy based on similarity and transfer learning algorithm

Near-infrared spectroscopy mainly reflects the frequency-doubled and total-frequency absorption information of hydrogen-containing groups (0 -H, C-H, N-H, S-H) in organic molecules for near-infrared lights with different wavelengths, so it is applicable to testing of most raw materials and products in the field of petrochemicals. However, the modeling process needs to collect a large number of laboratory analysis data. There are many oil sources in China, and oil properties change frequently. Modeling of each raw material is not only unfeasible but also will affect its engineering application efficiency. In order to achieve rapid modeling of near-infrared spectroscopy and based on historical data of different crude oils under different detection conditions, this paper discusses about the feasibility of the application of transfer learning algorithm and makes it possible that transfer learning can assist in rapid modeling using certain historical data under similar distributions under a small quantity of new data. In consideration of the requirement of transfer learning for certain similarity of different datasets, a transfer learning method based on local similarity feature selection is proposed. The simulation verification of spectral data of 13 crude oils measured by three different probe detection methods is performed. The effectiveness and application scope of the transfer modeling method under different similarity conditions are analyzed.

The model reduction problem is studied in this work for the switched genetic regulatory networks（GRNs） with timevarying delays. The attention is focused on constructing a reduced-order model to approximate the considered high-order GRNs under that the switching signal is subject to some certain constraints, such that the error system between the original system and the reduced-order one is exponentially stable with a weighted H∞ performance. By utilizing the bounding technique as well as the dwell time method, the stability conditions and the weighted H performance are established for the error system. Then, the solvability conditions for the reduced-order models for the GRNs are also established by using the projection method. Finally,numerical simulation is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Asymptotic state estimation for linear systems with sensor and actuator faults

This paper investigates the asymptotic state estimation problem for linear systems with sensor and actuator faults, where the faults are modeled via multiple modes. For the case of sensor faults, we first introduce a new notion of detectability, i.e., detectability of system against sensor faults. The notion helps to address the question of whether it is possible to asymptotically estimate the system state by using the control input and system output, irrespective of which mode the system is in and what values the fault signals are.A necessary and sufficient condition for the system to be detectable against sensor faults is given, and then two switched observers are proposed for asymptotic state estimation with the help of maximin strategy. For the system with ? fault modes, we provide the explicit form of the switched observer, which is based on a bank of ?(?+1)/2 Luenberger-like or sliding-mode observers. Furthermore, extensions to the case of sensor and actuator faults are further studied. Finally, a simulation example of a reduced-order aircraft system is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed approaches.

Process Monitoring Based on Independent Component Contribution

Independent component analysis( ICA) has been widely applied to the monitoring of non-Gaussian processes. Despite lots of applications,there is no universally accepted criterion to select the dominant independent components( ICs). Moreover, how to determine the number of dominant ICs is still an open question. To further address this issue,a novel process monitoring based on IC contribution( ICC) is proposed from the perspective of information storage. Based on the ICC with each variable,the dominant ICs can be obtained and the number of dominant ICs is determined objectively. To further preserve the process information, the remaining ICs are not useless. As a result,all the ICs are regarded to be divided into dominant and residual subspaces. The monitoring models are established respectively in each subspace, and then Bayesian inference is applied to integrating monitoring results of the two subspaces. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method are illustrated through a numerical example and the Tennessee Eastman process.

Multimode Process Monitoring Based on the Density-Based Support Vector Data Description

Complex industry processes often need multiple operation modes to meet the change of production conditions. In the same mode,there are discrete samples belonging to this mode. Therefore,it is important to consider the samples which are sparse in the *** solve this issue,a new approach called density-based support vector data description( DBSVDD) is proposed. In this article,an algorithm using Gaussian mixture model( GMM) with the DBSVDD technique is proposed for process monitoring. The GMM method is used to obtain the center of each mode and determine the number of the modes. Considering the complexity of the data distribution and discrete samples in monitoring process,the DBSVDD is utilized for process monitoring. Finally,the validity and effectiveness of the DBSVDD method are illustrated through the Tennessee Eastman( TE) process.

The multiscale simulation of metal organic chemical vapor deposition growth dynamics of GaInP thin film

As a Group III–V compound, GaInP is a high-efficiency luminous material. Metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) technology is a very efficient way to uniformly grow multi-chip, multilayer and large-area thin film. By combining the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and the kinetic Monte Carlo (KMC) methods with virtual reality (VR) technology, this paper presents a multiscale simulation of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and molecular dynamics to study the growth process of GaInP thin film in a vertical MOCVD reactor. The results of visualization truly and intuitively not only display the distributional properties of the gas’ thermal and flow fields in a MOCVD reactor but also display the process of GaInP thin film growth in a MOCVD reactor. The simulation thus provides us with a fundamental guideline for optimizing GaInP MOCVD growth.

Kinetics of COx formation in the homogeneous metal/bromide-catalyzed aerobic oxidation of p-xylene

The homogeneous metal/bromide-catalyzed aerobic oxidation of p-xylene with different catalyst concentrations was carried out, and the formation kinetics of COx including CO2 and CO was measured. The simplified elementary steps for the formation of COx were summarized, on the basis of which the kinetic model of COx formation was established. The model calculations were in good agreement with the experimental data for the CO2 formation and also successfully captured the first peak of the CO formation rate as a function of time. The obtained rate constants have narrow confidence intervals, among which only k1 and k2 are the adjustable parameters for different catalyst conditions. The decarboxylation of the carboxyl group in aromatic acid, the oxidation of the aryl radical, and the destruction of acetic acid are the major sources of CO2. The formation of CO mainly results from the destruction of acetic acid and the oxidation of the aryl radical. Copyright © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

This paper deals with the H∞filter design problem for event-triggered networked control systems(NCSs), where the next task release time and finishing time are predicted based on the sampled states. The closed-loop filtering error system is modeled as a linear system with an interval time-varying delay and event-triggered communication strategy. Based on this model, some novel criteria for the asymptotic stability analysis and H∞filter design of the event-triggered NCSs with timevarying delay are established to guarantee a prescribed H∞disturbance rejection attenuation level. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Robust semi-global leader-following practical consensus of a group of linear systems with imperfect actuators

This paper considers the problem of semi-global leader-following consensus of a multi-agent system whose agent dynamics are represented by linear systems. The input output characteristics of the follower agent actuators, such as those of saturation and dead-zone, are imperfect, not precisely known, and subject to the effect of disturbances. Two consensus control algorithms, of the low-and-high gain feedback type and the low gain based variable structure control type, are proposed for solving the consensus problem. It is shown that both of these control algorithms achieve semi-global leader-following practical consensus in the presence of the imperfectness of the actuators when the communication topology among the follower agents is represented by a strongly connected and detailed balanced directed graph and the leader agent is a neighbor of at least one follower agent. The theoretical results are illustrated by numerical simulation.

Enhancing the Performance of JADE Using Two-phase Parameter control Scheme and Its Application

The search efficiency of differential evolution （DE） algorithm is greatly impacted by its control parameters. Although many adaptation/self-adaptation techniques can automatically find suitable control parameters for the DE, most techniques are based on pop- ulation information which may be misleading in solving complex optimization problems. Therefore, a self-adaptive DE （i.e., JADE） using two-phase parameter control scheme （TPC-JADE） is proposed to enhance the performance of DE in the current study. In the TPC-JADE, an adaptation technique is utilized to generate the control parameters in the early population evolution, and a well-known empirical guideline is used to update the control parameters in the later evolution stages. The TPC-JADE is compared with four state-of-the-art DE variants on two famous test suites （i.e., IEEE CEC2005 and IEEE CEC2015）. Results indicate that the overall performance of the TPC-JADE is better than that of the other compared algorithms. In addition, the proposed algorithm is utilized to obtain optimal nutrient and inducer feeding for the Lee-Ramirez bioreactor. Experimental results show that the TPC-JADE can perform well on an actual dynamic optimization problem.
