In this paper, we propose a method for designing continuous gain-scheduled robust H_∞ observer on a class of extended stochastic nonlinear systems subject to time delay and actuator saturation. Initially, gradient linearization procedure is applied to describe such extended nonlinear systems into several model-based linear systems. Next, a robust linear H_∞ observer is designed to such linear stochastic models. Subsequently, a convex hull set is investigated and sufficient condition is derived in terms of feedback observer to determine whether a given initial condition belongs to an ellipsoid invariant set. Finally, continuous gain-scheduled approach is employed to design continuous nonlinear observers on the entire extended nonlinear jump system. A simulation example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of developed techniques.

This paper addresses the global consensus problem for multi-input multi-output saturated systems within a sampled-data framework, aiming to advance global consensus, manage heterogeneous actuator saturation across components, and preserve distributed characteristics by using sampled-data feedback. We propose a distributed control algorithm that incorporates a redesigned saturation function, represented as decentralized dynamic saturation levels. These levels for each agent’s dimensions are autonomously updated through an adaptive strategy, which mitigates heterogeneous saturation by carefully selecting constant and time-varying saturation parameters in it. Lyapunov analysis proves that global consensus can be achieved under the proposed control law, provided the sampling periods of all agents remain below a calculated threshold. An example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach.

In this paper, the tracking performance limitation of networked control systems (NCSs) is studied. The NCSs is considered as continuous-time linear multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems with random reference noises. The controlled plants include unstable poles and non-minimum phase (NMP) zeros. The output feedback path is affected by multiple communication constraints. We focus on some basic communication constraints, including additive white noise (AWN), quantization noise, bandwidth, as well as encoder-decoder. The system performance is evaluated with the tracking error energy, and used a two-degree of freedom (2DOF) controller. The explicit representation of the tracking performance is given in this paper. The results indicate the tracking performance limitations rely to internal characteristics of the plant (unstable poles and NMP zeros), reference noises (the reference noise power distribution (RNPD) and its directions) and the characteristics of communication constraints. The characteristics of communication constraints include communication noise power distribution (CNPD), quantization noise power distribution (QNPD), and their distribution directions, transform bandwidth allocation (TBA), transform encoder-decoder allocation (TEA), and their allocation directions, and NMP zeros and MP part of bandwidth. Moreover, the tracking performance limitations are also affected by the angles between the each transform NMP zero direction and RNPD direction, and these angles between each transform unstable poles direction and the direction of communication constraint distribution/allocation. In addition, for MIMO NCSs, bandwidth (there are not identical two channels) always can affects the direction of unstable poles, and the channel allocation of bandwidth and encode-decode may be used for a feasible method for the performance allocation of each channels. Slow solubilization/hydrolysis efficiency has been widely recognized as a limiting factor for volatile fatty acids (VFAs) production from waste activated sludge (WAS) via anaerobic fermentation. This study developed an innovative choline chloride (ChCl)-based approach for WAS treatment. Accordingly, the VFAs yield was increased by 2.5-623.3%, which was attributed to the concurrent acceleration of WAS solubilization, hydrolysis, and acidification. FTIR and molecular docking analysis showed that ChCl can attack and disrupt extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) by forming hydrogen bonds with organics occurred in WAS (i.e. proteins). More importantly, the generated VFAs in turn interacted with ChCl for in-situ deep eutectic solvents-like formation to significantly improve the organics dissolution of WAS for more bioavailable substrates associated with VFAs biosynthesis, and such effects were intensified with the VFAs level. Besides, ChCl exhibited "screening-effects" to enrich the hydrolytic and acidogenic anaerobes in WAS fermentation systems, while reduced VFAs-consumers. Meanwhile, the microbial metabolic profiles shift to favor the protein metabolism, and the genetic traits associated with extracellular and intracellular substrates metabolism, membrane transport, and fatty acid biosynthesis were all upregulated. Noteworthily, the functional hydrolytic and acidogenic species maintained their microbial activity for efficient VFAs production via quorum sensing and two-component regulatory systems to counteract ChCl stress. The ranking efficiency product indices revealed that ChCl pretreatment showed a higher sustainable footprint (84.0%) over other traditional pretreatment approaches for WAS fermentation in view of both economic and environmental benefits. This review focuses on standard Li recycling approaches for LiFePO4 (LFP) and nickel−cobalt−manganese (NCM) cathodes. The study discusses about advances in leaching agents, including organic acid, alkaline solutions, natural organic acid, and electrochemical treatments. Emphasis is placed on the significance of selective Li leaching strategies to optimize the recycling of waste batteries. The review also outlines potential future research directions for enhancing selective recycling, providing valuable insights into the recycling of LFP and NCM batteries. Simultaneously, the article addresses the challenges associated with the transition from conventional lithium-ion batteries to all-solid-state batteries (ASSBs) in the pursuit of sustainable energy storage technologies. It highlights key points, including the challenges in developing ASSBs, the role of employing various material combinations and its preparation techniques, adopting scalable solution-based processes for commercialization, and strategies for sustainable ASSB recycling. The proposition of a fully recyclable ASSB model underscores the commitment to lower recycling costs using safer and simpler methods, positioning nanotechnology as an enabling tool for achieving advancements in materials and cell-level performance. © 2024 The Author(s)

Most previous studies have focused primarily on the adverse effects of environmental chemicals on organisms of good healthy. Although global prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has reached approximately 25%, the impact of environmentally persistent organic chemicals on organisms with NAFLD is substantially unknown. Polyhalogenated carbazoles (PHCZs) as emerging contaminants have been frequently detected in the environment and organisms. In this study, we investigated the impact of the most frequently detected PHCZs, 3,6-dichlorocarbazole (36-CCZ), on zebrafish with high-fat diet (HFD)-induced NAFLD. After 4 weeks exposure to environmentally relevant concentrations of 36-CCZ (0.16–0.45 μg/L), the accumulation of lipid in zebrafish liver dramatically increased, and the transcription of genes involved in lipid synthesis, transport and oxidation was significantly upregulated, demonstrating that 36-CCZ had exacerbated the NAFLD in zebrafish. Lipidomic analysis indicated that 36-CCZ had significantly affected liver lipid metabolic pathways, mainly including glycerolipids and glycerophospholipids. Additionally, fifteen lipids were identified as potential lipid biomarkers for 36-CCZ exacerbation of NAFLD, including diacylglycerols (DGs), triglycerides (TGs), phosphatidylcholines (PCs), phosphatidylethanolamines (PEs), phosphatidic acid (PA), and phosphatidylinositol (PI). These findings demonstrate that long-term exposure to 36-CCZ can promote the progression of NAFLD, which will contribute to raising awareness of the health risks of PHCZs. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

In the process of urban logistics distribution, how to achieve efficiently and timely logistics distribution within the distribution time limit has become an urgent problem to be solved in logistics management. Three-echelon logistics distribution is considered to be an effective strategy to alleviate urban congestion, improve liquidity and reduce pollution. In this paper, a mathematical model of three-echelon logistics distribution problem considering time window constraint is established based on directed graph, and a double-tier intelligent algorithm coordinated by Distance Entropy-based Attractor Propagation (DEBAP) clustering algorithm - Crossover-and-Selection based Differential Evolution (CSBDE) is proposed. DEBAP is responsible for the optimization of region partitioning and facility allocation. The obtained region partitioning and facility allocation scheme are transmitted to CSBDE for path planning. CSBDE feeds back the optimized path planning scheme to DEBAP, and the two-tier intelligent algorithm cooperates to complete the optimization of three-echelon logistics distribution system. In addition, this paper proposes a search strategy based on reachable distribution region and a facility allocation optimization strategy based on path length as weight to improve the efficiency of the algorithm. The example calculation shows that the mathematical model and combined intelligent algorithm proposed in this paper can effectively solve 3-echelon logistics distribution problem(3E-LDP), provide theoretical and methodological guidance for multi-echelon logistics distribution, and can be well implemented in practice to help logistics operators reduce operation costs and improve customer service. © 2022, The Authors. The acquisition of gender information of Chinese mitten crabs is crucial for survival rate assessment and biomass estimation. Machine vision is commonly used for the automatic gender recognition of Chinese mitten crabs, but the low light conditions caused by deeper containers reduce the accuracy of existing algorithms. To improve the accuracy of gender recognition of Chinese mitten crabs in low light environments, this study incorporates the GAM into the backbone of YOLOv7, improving the capability to distinguish gender-specific features. A lightweight upsampling operator, CARAFE, replaces the original upsampling module, expanding the model's receptive field and better aggregating global information. Using Focal-Clo U to mitigate the impact of low-quality prediction boxes, enabling the model to better optimize high-quality ones. By constructing an image dataset of Chinese mitten crabs in low-light environments to validate the model's performance, experimental results demonstrate that the average precision of the model established in this study is 0.870, 10.6% higher than the most update algorithm GMNet-YOLOv4, effectively performing the classification task of Chinese mitten crabs in low-light environments.

Population-based memetic algorithms have been successfully applied to solve many difficult combinatorial problems. Often, a population of fixed size was used in such algorithms to record some best solutions sampled during the search. However, given the particular features of the problem instance under consideration, a population of variable size would be more suitable to ensure the best search performance possible. In this work, we propose variable population memetic search (VPMS), where a strategic population sizing mechanism is used to dynamically adjust the population size during the memetic search process. Our VPMS approach starts its search from a small population of only two solutions to focus on exploitation, and then adapts the population size according to the search status to continuously influence the balancing between exploitation and exploration. We illustrate an application of the VPMS approach to solve the challenging critical node problem (CNP). We show that the VPMS algorithm integrating a variable population, an effective local optimization procedure (called diversified late acceptance search) and a backbone-based crossover operator performs very well compared to state-of-the-art CNP algorithms. The algorithm is able to discover new upper bounds for 13 instances out of the 42 popular benchmark instances, while matching 23 previous best-known upper bounds. Copyright © 2019, The Authors.
