A pulse-width-modulation (PWM) digital controller design method in aeration control, which can reduce the energy costs of the control procedure, is proposed for wastewater treatment process based on the ASM1 model. First, an optimal linearization technique is applied to the aeration nonlinear system for finding a local optimal linear model, which has the same dynamics of the original nonlinear system at the operating point of interest. Then, a discrete-time optimal control law in pulse-amplitude-modulated (PAM) form is designed using LQR method. The PWM digital control law is then converted, using the digital redesign technique, from the corresponding PAM control law for the purpose of engineering realization. Last, simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and the whole energy consumption is also computed. It has been shown that compared with the conventional multi-set point on/off control and on/off control method, the proposed method can save more energy than other approaches.

The activated sludge process(ASP) is widely used in many wastewater treatment process(WWTP), which consists of a biological reactor and a sedimentation tank, and also is used to take the contaminant(substrate) away by means of activated sludge(microorganisms). The first part of this paper gets the simplified model of the activated sludge model No.1(ASM1), which contains the nitrification and denitrification. Because of the nonlinear nature of ASM1, the optimal linearization technique is applied to it for finding a local optimal linear model, which has the same dynamics of the original nonlinear model at the operation point of interest. Then, a discrete-time optimal control law in pulse-amplitude-modulated(PAM) is designed using linear quadratic regulator(LQR) method. For engineering implementation, a modified pulse-width-modulation(PWM) method is proposed. At last, some simulations are made to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy, which can reduce the whole operational energy and spend less reaction time, comparing to Multi-set point on/off control and PWM control techniques.

The accurate identification of tea varieties is of great significance to ensure the interests of tea producers and *** a non-destructive or micro damage detection method,laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS)has been widely used in the quality detection or classification of agricultural products and *** objective of this research was to automatically select optimal spectral peaks from the full LIBS spectra,and develop effective classification model for identifying tea *** LIBS spectra covering the region 200-500 nm were measured for 600 Chinese tea leaves including six varieties(*** green tea,Jinhao black tea,Tie Guanyin,Huang Jinya,White peony tea,and Anhua dark tea).A total of 50 optimal spectral peaks were automatically selected from full LIBS spectra(6102)by using the uninformative variable elimination(UVE)and partial least squares projection analysis,and the selected spectral peaks mainly represent the elemental difference in C,Fe,Mg,Mn,Al and *** Least Squares Discriminant Analysis(PLS-DA)was used for developing classification model using selected optimal spectral peaks,and yielded the 99.77%classification accuracy for 300 test samples was *** results indicate that the proposed method can be used to identify leaf varieties in various tea products.
