An ethylene plant's main purpose is to convert hydrocarbon feedstock,usually natural gas liquids or naphtha,into a "cracked gas" that contains ethylene and other higher value products,by breaking carbon-carbon bonds in the *** process also results in the slow deposition of coke,a form of carbon,on the reactor *** coke layer on the internal tube skin reduces the cross section of the reactor tube,increases the pressure drop and also degrades the efficiency of the *** characteristic that continuous operational performance of cracking furnaces gradually decays within time brings challenge to the operational scheduling for the entire furnace *** it's normally time-consuming to develop a new process model for multiple feeds and different cracking furnaces in the new process *** this paper,a transfer learning method based on time series is proposed for fast modeling ethylene yields from the view of common characteristics that ethylene yield decays over *** to previous studies,the new model allows to take advantage of a small amount of newly labeled data to construct a high-quality prediction model for the new ***,it obtains satisfied short-term forecast *** studies demonstrate the efficacy of the developed methodology.

This paper addresses the attack frequency estimation for networked control systems suffering from denial of service (DoS) attacks. First, the networked control systems (NCSs) subjecting to DoS attacks are modeled as switched systems between normal systems and attacked systems. Secondly, by considering the worst scenario of DoS attacks with energy constraints, the maximum allowable update interval is well characterized under consideration of the limitation of the event-triggered control scheme and discrete sampling. Then, by use of Lyapunov theory, a stability criterion is derived to obtain the maximum number of DoS attacks while ensuring the globally exponentially stable of studied system. Finally, an example is used to show the validity of proposed results.

Studies had reported that the performance of multi-objective gaze-independent BCIs under covert attention conditions was lower than the matrix speller BCIs under overt attention conditions. However, no research has compared the performance of multi-objective gaze-independent BCIs under covert attention conditions with under overt attention conditions,when visual angle doesn't exceed 1o. For exploration of the above problem, two paradigms developed from Geometric Speller(Geo Spell) have been built. Ten healthy participants had participated in this study. Results show that the performance of the gaze-independent BCI is substantially higher when the participant could gaze directly at targets. However, the multi-objective gaze-independent BCIs under covert attention conditions are competitive in terms of evoking N200(p<0.05).

An effective discrete artificial bee colony algorithm for flow shop scheduling problem with intermediate buffers

An effective discrete artificial bee colony(DABC) algorithm is proposed for the flow shop scheduling problem with intermediate buffers(IBFSP) in order to minimize the maximum completion time(i.e makespan). The effective combination of the insertion and swap operator is applied to producing neighborhood individual at the employed bee phase. The tournament selection is adopted to avoid falling into local optima, while, the optimized insert operator embeds in onlooker bee phase for further searching the neighborhood solution to enhance the local search ability of algorithm. The tournament selection with size 2 is again applied and a better selected solution will be performed destruction and construction of iterated greedy(IG) algorithm, and then the result replaces the worse one. Simulation results show that our algorithm has a better performance compared with the HDDE and CHS which were proposed recently. It provides the better known solutions for the makespan criterion to flow shop scheduling problem with limited buffers for the Car benchmark by Carlier and Rec benchmark by Reeves. The convergence curves show that the algorithm not only has faster convergence speed but also has better convergence value.

For probabilistic monitoring of multimode processes,this paper introduced a monitoring scheme that integrates joint probability density and weighted probabilistic principal component analysis based on coefficient of variation(CV-WPPCA). A joint probability based on 2 statistic was constructed for mode identification. After it concentrated maximum fault-relevant information into dominant subspace by identifying and extracting important noise factors from the residual subspace,the new approach utilized a weighting strategy based on coefficient of variation method to highlight the useful information in the reconstructed dominant subspace. A case study on the Tennessee Eastman process was applied to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.

The Echo State Network(ESN) is a novel and special type of recurrent neural network that has become increasingly popular in machine learning domains such as time series forecasting, data clustering, and nonlinear system identification. This network is characterized by large randomly constructed recurrent neural networks(RNN) called "reservoir", in which the neurons are sparsely connected and the weights remain unchanged during training, leaving the simple training of the output layer. However, the reservoir is criticized for its randomness and instability because of the random initialization of the connectivity and weights. In this article, we introduced the selective ensemble learning based on BPSO to improve the generalization performance of ESN. Two widely studied tasks are used to prove the feasibility and priority of the selective ESN ensemble based on BPSO(SESNE-BPSO) model. And the results indicate that the SESNE-BPSO model performs better than the general ESN ensemble, the single standard ESN and several other improved ESN models.

This paper presents an identification method based on the compressive sampling orthogonal matching pursuit (CoSaMP) algorithm to indirectly identify both the control plant and the feedback controller of a class of closed-loop systems with unknown orders and large time-delays. The identification method contains two steps. The first step is to identify the orders, time-delays and the parameters of the plant using the CoSaMP algorithm. The second step is to extract the parameters of the feedback controller by using the model equivalence principle. The proposed method can effectively identify the time-delays and parameters of both the control plant and the feedback controller, and requires only a small number of sampling data. A simulation example is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. © 2016 TCCT.

The simulation on benchmarks is a very simple and efficient method to evaluate the performance of the algorithm for solving flexible job shop scheduling *** to the assignment and scheduling decisions,flexible job shop scheduling problem(FJSP)becomes extremely hard to solve for production management.A discrete multi-objective particle swarm optimization(PSO)and simulated annealing(SA)algorithm with variable neighborhood search is developed for FJSP with three criteria:the makespan,the total workload and the critical machine ***,a discrete PSO is designed and then SA algorithm performs variable neighborhood search integrating two neighborhoods on public critical block to enhance the search ***,the selection strategy of the personal-best individual and global-best individual from the external archive is developed in multi-objective *** the experimental simulation on matlab,the tests on Kacem instances,Brdata instances and BCdata instances show that the modified discrete multi-objective PSO algorithm is a promising and valid method for optimizing FJSP with three criteria.

This paper is concerned with the distributed L 2 - L ∞ state estimation for discrete-time delayed neural networks with missing measurements and sensor failures. The model of neural networks is constructed by the combination with nonlinear functions and state space expressions. Time-varying delays are assumed to have the lower bounds and the upper bounds, and the missing measurements and the sensor failures are described by a stochastic Bernoulli distributed variable and uncertainties, respectively. By using a distributed network, Kronecker product, linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) technology and the solving optimization problems, a sufficient condition is derived to ensure that the filtering error system is stochastically asymptotically stable and achieves the optimal L 2 - L ∞ performance. Finally, a simulation example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
