Clustering is an energy efficient routing protocol for wireless sensor networks. Traditional clustering methods can prolong the network lifetime and achieve scalable performance, but they do not consider the event development. In many applications, the scalability and occurrence region of events often change. A dynamic clustering method with overlaps(DCMO) is proposed in this paper. Due to the 2-logical-coverage overlaps of the proposed clustering method, the clusters can be migrated with the changing tendency of events. As a result, the sensed data can be transmitted at a lower price. Simulations show that the proposed DCMO method has lower energy consumption, compared with LEACH protocol.

In an inverter control system of smart microgrids, the control performance degradation due to load fluctuations, unbalanced loads and other factors, is one of the considerable factors affecting the output power quality. In this paper, a plug-and-play (PnP) technology based on Youla parameterization is proposed to achieve system performance recovery without modifying the existing controller. By ‘plugging-in’ a residual generator and a compensator, a dynamic feed-back of residual signals is embedded into the original inverter control system. In order to realize PnP, an online parameter estimation scheme of the compensator is developed. Finally, an inverter control system is applied to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Process monitoring plays an important role in maintaining favorable process operation conditions and is gaining increasing attention in both academic community and industrial applications. This paper proposes a data-driven model predictive fault detection method to achieve efficient monitoring of dynamic processes. First, a measurement sample is projected into a dominant latent variable subspace that captures main variance of the process data and a residual subspace. Then the dominant latent variable subspace is further decomposed as a dynamic feature subspace and a static feature subspace. A fault detection residual is generated in each subspace, and corresponding monitoring statistic is established. By using the model predictive monitoring scheme, not only the status of a process but also the type of a detected fault, namely a dynamic feature fault or a static feature fault, can be identified. Effectiveness of the proposed data-driven model predictive monitoring scheme is tested on a lab-scale distillation process.

In this work, the discrete-time sliding mode control problem for the networked control systems under fading channels is investigated. Moreover, the state signals will be quantized through a logarithmic quantizer before transmitted to the controller. Subsequently, a sliding surface relating to fading coefficient is designed to cope with the fading measurements. It is shown that the designed sliding mode controller can drive the state trajectories into the neighborhood of the specified sliding surface and the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable in the sense of mean square. In the end, a numerical simulation is given.

This paper endeavors to investigate the sliding mode control (SMC) issue of the networked state-saturated systems. For the energy saving purpose in network communication, a dynamic event-triggering mechanism is employed to SMC design by introducing interval dynamic variable. With the aid of some appropriate Lyapunov functionals, the sufficient conditions are derived to ensure the asymptotic stability of the sliding mode dynamics and the reachability of the specified sliding surface. Moreover, a convex optimization algorithm is formulated to solve the dynamic event-triggering SMC law. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.
