The day time nap sleep has the significant prophylactic function to our health and working efficiency. In this study, the prediction of sleep level for day time short nap was investigated. The ultimate purpose was to develop the automatic analysis technique for nap sleep interpretation. Firstly, the conditional probabilities of sleep stage awake, stage 1 and stage 2 were calculated for the consecutive data segments based on a set of parameters. Secondly, the sleep level of next data segment was predicted according to the obtained conditional probabilities. The prediction of sleep level reflected the future sleep tendency and was helpful for automatic nap sleep interpretation.

This paper is concerned with lag synchronization of two coupled delayed systems with parameter mismatch. Due to parameter mismatch, complete lag synchronization can not be achieved. Therefore, a new lag quasi-synchronization scheme is proposed to ensure that coupled systems are in a state of lag synchronization with an error level. Several simple criteria are derived and the error level is estimated by applying a generalized Halanary inequality and matrix measure. Three examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed lag quasi-synchronization scheme. It is shown that as the coupling strength increases, the estimated error level is close to the simulated one, which well supports theoretical results.

This Letter investigates synchronization of two nonidentical Lur'e systems with time-varying delay and parameter mismatches via impulsive control. Based on the theory of impulsive functional differential equations, sufficient conditions for impulsive synchronization with a bound on the synchronization error are derived. As a Group III–V compound, GaInP is a high-efficiency luminous material. Metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) technology is a very efficient way to uniformly grow multi-chip, multilayer and large-area thin film. By combining the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and the kinetic Monte Carlo (KMC) methods with virtual reality (VR) technology, this paper presents a multiscale simulation of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and molecular dynamics to study the growth process of GaInP thin film in a vertical MOCVD reactor. The results of visualization truly and intuitively not only display the distributional properties of the gas’ thermal and flow fields in a MOCVD reactor but also display the process of GaInP thin film growth in a MOCVD reactor. The simulation thus provides us with a fundamental guideline for optimizing GaInP MOCVD growth.
