Neural network-based source tracking of chemical leaks with obstacles

The leakage of hazardous gases poses a significant threat to public security and causes environmental *** effective and accurate source term estimation(STE)is necessary when a leakage accident ***,most research generally assumes that no obstacles exist near the leak source,which is inappropriate in practical *** solve this problem,we propose two different frameworks to emphasize STE with obstacles based on artificial neural network(ANN)and convolutional neural network(CNN).Firstly,we build a CFD model to simulate the gas diffusion in obstacle scenarios and construct a benchmark ***,we define the structure of ANN by searching,then predict the concentration distribution of gas using the searched model,and optimize source term parameters by particle swarm optimization(PSO)with well-performed cost ***,we propose a one-step STE method based on CNN,which establishes a link between the concentration distribution and the location of ***,we propose a novel data processing method to process sensor data,which maps the concentration information into feature *** comprehensive experiments illustrate the performance and efficiency of the proposed methods.

Coupling pinch analysis and rigorous process simulation for hydrogen networks with light hydrocarbon recovery

In refineries,some hydrogen-rich streams contain considerable light hydrocarbons that are important raw materials for the chemical *** hydrogen networks with light hydrocarbon recovery can enhance the reuse of both hydrogen and light *** work proposes an automated method for targeting hydrogen networks with light hydrocarbon recovery.A pinch-based algebraic method is improved to determine the minimum fresh hydrogen consumption and hydrogen sources fed into the light hydrocarbon recovery unit *** process simulation is conducted to determine the mass and energy balances of the light hydrocarbon recovery *** targeting procedures are developed through combination of the improved pinch method and rigorous process *** hybrid method is realized by coupling the Matlab and Aspen HYSYS platforms.A refinery hydrogen network is analyzed to illustrate application of the proposed *** integration of hydrogen network with light hydrocarbon recovery further reduces fresh hydrogen requirement by463.0 m^(3)·h^(-1) and recovers liquefied petroleum gas and gasoline of 1711.5 kg·h^(-1) and 643 kg·h^(-1),respectively.A payback period of 9.2 months indicates that investment in light hydrocarbon recovery is economically attractive.

This study concentrates on solving the output consensus problem for a class of heterogeneous uncertain nonstrict-feedback nonlinear multi-agent systems under switching-directed communication topologies,in which all followers are subjected to multi-type input constraints such as unknown asymmetric saturation,unknown dead-zone and their integration.A unified representation is presented to overcome the difficulties originating from multi-agent input ***,the uncertain system functions in a non-lower triangular form and the interaction terms among agents are dealt with by exploiting the fuzzy logic systems and their special ***,by introducing a nonlinear filter to alleviate the problem of“explosion of complexity”during the backstepping design,a distributed common adaptive control protocol is proposed to ensure that the synchronization errors converge to a small neighborhood of the origin despite the existence of multiple input constraints and arbitrary switching communication *** stability analysis and simulation results are conducted to show the effectiveness and performance of the proposed control methodology.

Vision-based formation control of multiple UAVs with event-triggered integral sliding mode control

Vision-based formation control offers an alternate solution for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to work together in the external position system denied environment. In this paper, we present a vision-based formation control strategy with the advantages of high tracking performance and low consumption of communication resources. A vision-based multi-robot localisation methods is applied to get precise position information, and the extended Kalman filter (EKF) is used to fuse measurement data from different sensors. The integral sliding mode controller (ISMC) is utilised to ensure the fast convergence and robustness to the desired formation, and the event-triggered communication scheme is employed to reduce redundant transmission of state information used in the formation controller. The simulation results in Gazebo with a team of three UAVs are given to illustrate the effectness of the proposed control strategy. © 2020 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

In this paper, a unified influence networks model incorporating differential privacy mechanisms (DPMs), called the differentially private opinion dynamics (DPODs) model is proposed. In this model, each individual uses protected opinions rather than the private opinions of his/her neighbors to update his/her private opinions, where the protected opinion of an individual is a blend of private opinions and random noise following Laplace distribution. Building on stochastic analysis techniques and matrix theory, we show that the influence network under consideration converges under specific conditions governing individual sensitivities and interaction weights. In addition, the statistical properties related to convergence accuracy are established by utilizing the Markov inequality to estimate a lower bound on the probability of all individuals' final opinions converging to a neighborhood formed by their initial opinions' convex hull. We further conduct a differential privacy analysis to validate the efficacy of the proposed DPMs in safeguarding the private opinions of all individuals. Finally, two examples including one of the Karate-Club networks are provided to shed new light on the effectiveness of the theoretical results. © 2014 IEEE.

Vision-based trajectory tracking control of quadrotors using super twisting sliding mode control

A trajectory-tracking problem for a vision-based quadrotor control system is investigated in this paper. A super twisting sliding mode (STSM) controller is proposed for finite-time trajectory tracking control. With the help of the homogeneous technique, the closed-loop system is proved to be finite-time stable. In addition, due to the introduction of super twisting mechanism, the controller can restrain chattering effect of sliding mode control. On the other hand, a pose estimation through data fusion is proposed to localise the quadrotor. A Kalman filter (KF) is utilised to fuse the estimated pose from semi-direct monocular visual odometry (SVO) with data from inertial measurement unit (IMU). A number of simulations are carried out on MATLAB and physical engine simulator Gazebo. The results show that the proposed system controller has better performances in terms of robustness and anti-disturbance than the proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controller and the first order sliding mode controller. © 2020 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.
