In this paper, we investigate the distributed link removal strategy for networked meta-population epidemics. In particular, a deterministic networked susceptible-infected-recovered (SIR) model is considered to describe the epidemic evolving process. In order to curb the spread of epidemics, we present the spectrum-based optimization problem involving the Perron-Frobenius eigenvalue of the matrix constructed by the network topology and transition rates. A modified distributed link removal strategy is developed such that it can be applied to the SIR model with heterogeneous transition rates on weighted digraphs. The proposed approach is implemented to control the COVID-19 pandemic by using the reported infected and recovered data in each state of Germany. The numerical experiment shows that the infected percentage can be significantly reduced by using the distributed link removal strategy. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper is concerned with the sliding mode control (SMC) problem for a class of uncertain switched systems subject to partly known sojourn probabilities. The sojourn probability is the probability of a switched system staying in each subsystem, which may be available or unavailable. A key issue is how to design a sliding mode controller to guarantee the stability performance of the reconstructed switched systems subject to the partly known sojourn probabilities. To this end, by using a set of stochastic variables, the switched system model is reconstructed with partly known sojourn probabilities. And then, the sliding mode control law is constructed to ensure the reachability of the designed common sliding surface. Furthermore, the sufficient condition is derived to ensure the mean-square stability of the closed-loop system under the partly unknown sojourn probabilities. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the proposed method.

This paper studies the design of adaptive event-triggered protocols for consensus of linear multi-agent systems (MASs) with external disturbances. Different from most of the existing results that deal with undirected graphs, this paper addresses directed graphs, specifically graphs that are assumed to be strongly connected. Inspired by a recent development [1], this paper devises novel adaptive event-triggered protocols for linear MASs with all agents subject to external disturbances. Two specific designs of composite triggering conditions are analysed and discussed. Compared with the disturbance-free case, additional constraints need to be introduced to deal with external disturbances and moreover the time-dependent terms are allowed to take any finite functions, rather than a class of L1 functions.

This work addresses the asynchronous finite-time 2-∞ control problem for discrete-time Markovian jump linear systems (MJLSs) via static output feedback strategy. The asynchronous phenomenon between the system mode and controller mode is represented as a hidden Markov model. Compared with the existing literature, the strict assumption on the mode observation conditional probability matrix (MOCPM) of a hidden Markov model is removed in this work. By means of matrix inequality techniques, sufficient conditions are attained to ensure both of the finite-time stochastic boundedness and the finite-time 2-∞ disturbance attenuation performance of the MJLSs subject to partly accessible MOCPM. Furthermore, an algorithm is established to solve asynchronous control gains. Finally, the multiplier-accelerator macroeconomic system is provided to illustrate the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed design scheme. © 2017 IEEE.

Together with academia and industry, various governments have released their strategic plans for smart manufacturing, which has the key aim of realizing the upgrading and transformation of the process industry by means of knowledge-integrated planning, scheduling, and process optimization based on industrial internet of things. However, in order to achieve intelligent, autonomous,and regulated control in process manufacturing systems, the industry must confront many problems—including multi-scale coupling, human–cyber–physical interaction, and multi-objective optimization with strong constraints—from the varying perspectives of intelligent perception, autonomous control, and smart decision-making.

Deep adaptive fuzzy clustering for evolutionary unsupervised representation learning

Cluster assignment of large and complex images is a crucial but challenging task in pattern recognition and computer vision. In this study, we explore the possibility of employing fuzzy clustering in a deep neural network framework. Thus, we present a novel evolutionary unsupervised learning representation model with iterative optimization. It implements the deep adaptive fuzzy clustering (DAFC) strategy that learns a convolutional neural network classifier from given only unlabeled data samples. DAFC consists of a deep feature quality-verifying model and a fuzzy clustering model, where deep feature representation learning loss function and embedded fuzzy clustering with the weighted adaptive entropy is implemented. We joint fuzzy clustering to the deep reconstruction model, in which fuzzy membership is utilized to represent a clear structure of deep cluster assignments and jointly optimize for the deep representation learning and clustering. Also, the joint model evaluates current clustering performance by inspecting whether the re-sampled data from estimated bottleneck space have consistent clustering properties to progressively improve the deep clustering model. Comprehensive experiments on a variety of datasets show that the proposed method obtains a substantially better performance for both reconstruction and clustering quality when compared to the other state-of-the-art deep clustering methods, as demonstrated with the in-depth analysis in the extensive experiments. In recent years, most works on deception attacks(like [1])have been considered the dynamic detection attack, by designing appropriate algorithms capable of sensing the existence of attacks. However, there still does not exist a unified framework for the event-based resilient formation tracking issue under deceptions attacks. In most related works on formation control of multi-agent systems(MASs), for example in [2] and [3], neither the directed information flow nor the attacks are considered. Therefore, this study mainly considers how to realize the stabilization and desired performance under the unknown deception attacks by presenting some explicit properties including their frequency, duration and magnitude. This paper designs the resilient edge-triggering strategies under deception attacks, i.e., the formation tracking control of MASs can be realized and preserved even if the communication links undergo deception attacks. In the near future, the work can be extended into several cases:(1)The stochastic case corresponding to certain distribution [4];(2) The attitude control issue of the aircraft systems under deceptions attacks;(3) The formation issues of mobile robots with time-varying topologies.

This paper studies semi-global output consensus problem for multi-agent systems. The dynamics of each follower agent is described by a linear system subject to both actuator saturation and external disturbances. The dynamics of leader agent is also described by a linear system which generate both the tracking signal and disturbance as the exosystem does in output regulation problem for individual system. Solvability conditions are established based on the agent dynamics and the communication topology. For the follower agents, low-and-high gain based linear state feedback control laws are constructed such that all the outputs of agents achieve output consensus when the communication topology among the follower agents is a connected undirected graph, and the leader is a neighbor of at least one follower. Simulation results are given to illustrate the theoretical results.

A meticulous design of the local environment at the interface between active species and the support, aimed at optimizing the adsorption of H 2 O molecules and BH 4 − anion, offers an ideal strategy for enhancing hydrogen generation via NaBH 4 hydrolysis through dual activation pathways. Theoretical predictions based on d-band center analysis and electron transfer calculations suggest that introducing -OH functional groups induce charge redistribution, enhancing charge concentration on alk-Ti 3 C 2 and facilitating the adsorption and activation of dual active species, H 2 O molecules and BH 4 − anion. Inspired by these predictions, the optimized alk-Ti 3 C 2 /RuO x catalyst demonstrates the highest catalytic activity, achieving a hydrogen generation rate (HGR) of 9468 mL min −1  g cat. −1 . Both experimental data and theoretical analyses confirm that the -OH functional groups promote charge enrichment on alk-Ti 3 C 2 , optimizing the adsorption of H 2 O molecules and BH 4 − anion, and reducing the dissociation energy barrier of the *OH H-TS intermediate. This dual activation pathways mechanism lowers the activation energy for NaBH 4 hydrolysis, significantly enhancing the HGR performance. These findings, guided by theoretical insights, establish alk-Ti 3 C 2 /RuO x as an efficient catalyst for NaBH 4 hydrolysis and provide a strong foundation for future hydrogen generation catalyst designs.
