Massive GaN micro-LED array based underwater wireless optical communication

High-speed underwater wireless optical communication technology is a much-needed communication technology in current underwater applications, and micro-LED is a promising light source option. Considering the limitation of transmission distance due to the low optical power of a single micro-LED pixel, an underwater wireless optical communication system based on a novel massive GaN micro-LED array includes more than 5000 pixels fabricated via flip-chip technology is proposed, which can achieve 165-Mbps and 90-Mbps at 37.7 m and 73.5 m, respectively. Therefore, the feasibility of realizing a high data rate and long transmission distance in an underwater wireless optical communication system based on a novel massive micro-LED array is confirmed. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group under the terms of the Optica Open Access Publishing Agreement.

Pure magnesium is a very promising material in the fields of biomedical and engineering. Obtaining pure magnesium with superior mechanical properties has consistently been a significant challenge in the area of materials science. This study focuses on investigating the processing method and strengthening mechanism of pure magnesium by ultra-precision cutting. The research results show that the pure magnesium grains were significantly refined after ultra-precision cutting. The average grain size reduced from ∼24 µm to nanometers, and the average nano-hardness increased from 1.02 GPa to 2.82 GPa. Amorphous pure magnesium structure and body-centered cubic (BCC) lattice pure magnesium were reported. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation confirmed that the high shear strain and hydrostatic pressure during ultra-precision cutting was the origin of amorphization and lattice transformation. The amorphous phase and a significant number of long-period stacking-ordered (LPSO) phases inside the pure magnesium were responsible for the high hardness after ultra-precision cutting. © 2025

Based on the construction requirements of the "Emerging Engineering"major in intelligent manufacturing engineering and the characteristics of interdisciplinary integration, the cultivation of high-quality interdisciplinary talents has been established as the primary objective. By coordinating multiple on-campus and off-campus resources and fostering cohesion within the entire discipline supervisor team, the "academic supervisor system"training mode has been established, and the continuous training mechanism for "undergraduate and master's"programs has been effectively developed. Additionally, school-enterprise collaborations have been implemented, and practical bases have been successfully established. With the support of the entire discipline supervisor team and the closed-loop integrated laboratory, the practical teaching system characterized by cross-integration and systematic progression has been developed at our university. By creating a step-by-step, planned, and systematic practical course system, the issues of standardization, randomization, and fragmentation within practical courses have been effectively resolved. Through the integration of project-based courses and school-enterprise co-constructed courses, students' innovative abilities are further enhanced. It then describes the design and implementation methods of major design, and analyzes its practical effects. It holds significant reference and demonstrative value for the construction of practical courses, laboratories, and the talent cultivation model of the "Emerging Engineering"major. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) offer high mobility and flexible deployment capabilities, making them ideal for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. However, the substantial amount of data generated by various applications within the existing low-altitude network requires processing through Deep Neural Networks (DNN) on UAVs, which is challenging due to their limited computational resources. To address this issue, we propose a two-stage optimization method for flight path planning and task allocation based on a mother-child UAV swarm system. In the first stage, we employ a greedy algorithm to solve the path planning problem by considering the task size of the target area to be inspected and the shortest flight path as constraints. The goal is to minimize both the flight path of the UAV and the overall cost of the system. In the second stage, we introduce a novel DNN task assignment algorithm that combines Multi-Agent Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (MADDPG) and Generative Diffusion Models (GDM), named GDM-MADDPG. This algorithm takes advantage of the reverse denoising process of GDM to replace the actor network in MADDPG. It enables UAVs to generate specific DNN task assignment actions based on agents' observations in a dynamic environment, thereby improving the efficiency of task assignment and overall system performance. The simulation results demonstrate that our algorithm outperforms the benchmarks in terms of path planning, Age of Information (AoI), task completion rate, and system utility, demonstrating its effectiveness. © 2014 IEEE.

A GL(n) quantum integrable system generalizing the asymmetric five vertex spin chain is shown to encode the ring relations of the equivariant quantum cohomology and quantum K-theory ring of flag varieties. Drug-target interaction prediction help reduce the cost and time of drug development. However, existing research often overlooks the complexity of biological interactions. To address this issue, this paper proposes a DTI prediction model that integrates multi-dimensional biochemical features. Specifically, the model utilizes a heterogeneous graph attention network to capture the topological relationships among biological entities from diverse data, providing a deep understanding of the interactions among drugs, proteins, diseases, and side effects. A molecular attention Transformer network and a CBiNet module are used to extract the key structural features of drugs and targets. By automatically optimizing the weight distribution between drugs and targets, the model enhances the information transfer during network training, significantly improving model performance. Experimental results on real-world datasets demonstrate that the proposed model outperforms the current state-of-the-art methods in the field. Among the top 50 novel COVID-19 therapeutic drugs predicted by our model, 30 have been supported by clinical trials or scientific literature, further demonstrating the effectiveness of our proposed method in drug repurposing. Curved fronts of bistable reaction-diffusion equations in spatially periodic media: N ≥ 2

This paper is concerned with curved fronts of bistable reaction-diffusion equations in spatially periodic media for dimensions N ≥ 2. The curved fronts concerned are transition fronts connecting 0 and 1. Under a priori assumption that there exist moving pulsating fronts in every direction, we show the existence of polytope-like curved fronts with 0-zone being a polytope and 1-zone being the complementary set. By reversing some conditions, we also show the existence of curved fronts with reversed 0-zone and 1-zone. Furthermore, the curved fronts constructed by us are proved to be unique and asymptotic stable. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

To meet the requirements of electromagnetic(EM)theory and applied physics,this study presents an overview of the state-of-the-art research on obtaining the EM properties of media and points out potential solutions that can break through the bottlenecks of current ***,based on the survey of three mainstream approaches for acquiring EM properties of media,we identify the difficulties when implementing them in realistic *** a focus on addressing these problems and challenges,we propose a novel paradigm for obtaining the EM properties of multi-type media in realistic ***,within this paradigm,we describe the implementation approach of the key technology,namely“multipath extraction using heterogeneous wave propagation data in multi-spectrum cases”.Finally,the latest measurement and simulation results show that the EM properties of multi-type media in realistic environments can be precisely and efficiently acquired by the methodology proposed in this study.

This paper explores the innovation of teaching mode of image processing and machine vision courses under project orientation. Traditional image processing courses always lack a proper practical application, leading to some difficulties for students to understand the theoretical knowledge and apply the course content. Therefore, in order to better develop students' abilities in various aspects, this study takes the intelligent diagnosis of lung nodules as an example, and organically combines the theoretical knowledge in the textbook with the practical application in the project. In this paper we firstly discuss the content and importance of the image Processing and Machine Vision course, and review its research progress in related fields. Then we describe the design and implementation of the innovative model, and demonstrate the actual teaching effect under the new model through case studies. The final results show that this project-oriented teaching mode enhances students' learning interest, innovative thinking, practical and teamwork ability, which provides an important reference value for undergraduate talent cultivation.

Rsta: A Reversible Signal Transmission Architecture for Breaking the Limitation of Unidirectional Transmission

Molecular circuits are essential tools for biosensing and molecular information processing. However, the long-distance and reversible transmission of orthogonal signals remains a significant challenge in molecular circuits, preventing molecular signals from achieving reversible transmission similar to that of electrical signals in wires. To overcome the limitations of unidirectional signal transmission and facilitate the integration of antagonistic circuits. We propose a reversible signal transmission architecture (RSTA) with wire-like characteristics to achieve reversible signal transmission based on fundamental molecular devices known as reversible signal fan-out devices (RSFDs). The polarity of the input signal dictates the transmission direction, establishing the initial condition for the output signals. Cascaded RSFDs within RSTA offer two key advantages. First, the temporal response to signals. Second, the reversible transformation of opposite circuit types without structural modification. We experimentally validated the principles and functionality of RSTA using temporal logic device and integrated molecular circuits. This work advances the field of reversible molecular signal transmission, enabling the rational design of complex molecular circuits and molecular information processing systems. We envision applications of this technology in nanomachines, molecular computing, and biosensing. © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.
