Flow and thermal modeling of liquid metal in expanded microchannel heat sink

Liquid metal-based microchannel heat sinks (MCHSs) suffer from the low heat capacity of coolant, resulting in an excessive temperature rise of coolant and heat sink when dealing with high-power heat dissipation. In this paper, it was found that expanded space at the top of fins could distribute the heat inside microchannels, reducing the temperature rise of coolant and heat sink. The orthogonal experiments revealed that expanding the top space of channels yielded similar temperature reductions to changing the channel width. The flow and thermal modeling of expanded microchannel heat sink (E-MCHS) were analyzed by both using the 3-dimensional (3D) numerical simulation and the 1-dimensional (1D) thermal resistance model. The fin efficiency of E-MCHS was derived to improve the accuracy of the 1D thermal resistance model. The heat conduction of liquid metal in Z direction and the heat convection between the top surface of fins and the liquid metal could reduce the total thermal resistance (Rt). The above process was effective for microchannels with low channel aspect ratio, low mean velocity (Um) or long heat sink length. The maximum thermal resistance reduction in the example of this paper reached 36.0%. The expanded space endowed the heat sink with lower pressure, which might further reduce the pumping power (P). This rule was feasible both when fins were truncated (h_(2) < 0, h_(2) is the height of expanded channel for E-MCHS) and when over plate was raised (h_(2) > 0).

A new method for motif mining in biological networks

Network motifs are overly represented as topological patterns that occur more often in a given network than in random networks, and take on some certain functions in practical biological applications. Existing methods of detecting network motifs have focused on computational efficiency. However, detecting network motifs also presents huge challenges in computational and spatial complexity. In this paper, we provide a new approach for mining network motifs. First, all sub-graphs can be enumerated by adding edges and nodes progressively, using the backtracking method based on the associated matrix. Then, the associated matrix is standardized and the isomorphism sub-graphs are marked uniquely in combination with symmetric ter-nary, which can simulate the elements (−1,0,1) in the associated matrix. Taking advantage of the combination of the associated matrix and the backtracking method, our method reduces the complexity of enumerating sub-graphs, providing a more efficient solution for motif mining. From the results obtained, our method has shown higher speed and more extensive applicability than other similar methods. © the authors, publisher and licensee Libertas Academica Limited.

Watermarking embedding algorithm for archive image based on image normalization and principal component analysis

In this paper, an algorithm that embed watermarking into archive image based on image normalization and PCA is proposed, which is based on image normalization and invariant centroid theory. For the purpose of enhancing the invisibility and resistance to geometric attack of watermarking, we first encrypt the watermarking with chaotic method before information embedding, and then eliminate the effect of geometric change to archive image by utilizing image normalization. Finally, PCA was applied to embed the watermarking in subspace. Corresponding, we perform inverse transform to the archive image which is attacked by geometric transformation before extracting the watermarking. Thus, we can prove the truth of the attacked archive image by the extracted watermarking which is recognizable. Copyright © 2014 American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.

Forward non-rigid motion tracking for facial MoCap

For the existing motion capture (MoCap) data processing methods, manual interventions are always inevitable, most of which are derived from the data tracking process. This paper addresses the problem of tracking non-rigid 3D facial motions from sequences of raw MoCap data in the presence of noise, outliers and long time missing. We present a novel dynamic spatiotemporal framework to automatically solve the problem. First, based on a 3D facial topological structure, a sophisticated non-rigid motion interpreter (SNRMI) is put forward; together with a dynamic searching scheme, it cannot only track the non-missing data to the maximum extent but recover missing data (it can accurately recover more than five adjacent markers under long time (about 5 seconds) missing) accurately. To rule out wrong tracks of the markers labeled in open structures (such as mouth, eyes), a semantic-based heuristic checking method was raised. Second, since the existing methods have not taken the noise propagation problem into account, a forward processing framework is presented to solve the problem. Another contribution is the proposed method could track facial non-rigid motions automatically and forward, and is believed to greatly reduce even eliminate the requirements of human interventions during the facial MoCap data processing. Experimental results proved the effectiveness, robustness and accuracy of our system.

Convolutional neural networks based regional proposal networks (RPN) have recently achieved breakthrough results in a variety of medical image detection tasks. Among them, 3D RPN network in conjunction with advanced ResNet gains the state-of-the-art performance. However, current 3D RPN network cannot fully consider different hierarchically spatial information and relationship between channels contained in networks themselves. To overcome this problem, this work proposes a novel multi-branch 3D Squeeze-and-Excitation (SE) network, i.e., Mb3DSENet, which embeds SE-Inception and SE-Residual-Inception blocks into existing 3D RPN network by appropriately assembling SE unit, Inception module and residual connection. Mb3DSENet not only inherits the merits of the basic 3D RPN network, but also enhances its spatial representation power and selectively highlights channel-wise feature responses. Experiment results on the public LUNA16 dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed network. © 2019 IEEE.

Metastable phase in tungsten film is of great interests in recent years due to its giant spin Hall effects,however,little information has been known on its nucleation,growth and phase *** this paper,a 900 nm-thick tungsten film with double-layer structure(α-W underlayer andβ-W above it)was produced on SiO_(2)/Si substrate by high vacuum magnetron sputtering at room *** structural properties ofβ-W were systemically investigated by X-ray diffraction,transmission electron microscopy,thermodynamic calculation,first-principle and phase-field *** is found that theβ-W nucleation is energetically favoured on the SiO_(2)surface compared to theα-W *** the film thickening proceeds,β-W[211]turns to be preferred direction of growth owing to the elastic strain energy minimization,which is verified by phase-field ***,theβ→αphase transformation takes place near the film-substrate interface while the rest of the film keeps theβ-W phase,leading to a doublelayer *** localized phase transition is induced by lower Gibbs free energy ofα-W phase at larger grain sizes,which can be confirmed by thermodynamic *** in-situ heating TEM analysis of the as-deposited film reveals that theβ→αphase transformation is fulfilled byα/βinterface propagation rather than local atomic *** findings offer valuable insights into the intrinsic properties of metastable phase in tungsten.

Aiming at DNA encoding sequences design, a micro-genetic algorithm (MGA) is proposed by introducing a sharing function based on similarity and H-measure of DNA sequences. In the algorithm, six design criteria are adopted and four genetic operators are applied. Compared with the previous results, the algorithm can get better DNA sequences and improve the computational efficiency.

Conventional engineering optimization design technology is often computational expense and highly time cost, thus we need to take approximation technique to speed up the design process and reduce design cost. We herein would introduce the close-top mill housing optimization model, take Optimal Latin Hypercube Sampling（OLHS） experimental design strategies to determine the sample, analyse the difference among EBF, RBF, Kriging surrogate model, introduce NSGA-II algorithm briefly and study the performance of method based on surrogate model and optimization algorithm.

With the development of informatization, in order to improve office efficiency and manage students more effectively, universities have produced many management systems, such as library management systems and educational management systems. These systems mostly manage student information and other information in an integrated manner. The refinement of each module, due to the large number of colleges and universities, graduates and enrolls a large number of students every year, and the archiving of students' ideological and political courses and students' ideological and political evaluation is quite complicated. Some college management systems may only provide ideological and political courses. Course information and student test scores did not specifically manage the student's ideological and political education assessment and assess the student's psychological activities based on the student's daily performance, nor did they provide detailed course scheduling information for specific ideological and political related courses. Therefore, colleges and universities should also implement detailed information management for students' ideological and political education methods, which can improve management efficiency and reduce unnecessary human resources. The management system is developed by the Java[1-3]development language through Myeclipise as a development tool. The mysql database is used as the background to realize the information management of the ideological and political education of college students. It can promote the detailed management of all aspects of students' information management. Service school as well as students. And the machine learning algorithm is added. Through the previous students' data, the classification model is trained by Logistic regression algorithm to evaluate the students' ideological and political good condition.

The paper analyzed a steel thick cylinder, established a bilinear kinematic hardening model based on the von Mises yield criterion. We also considered the parameters of the material yield limit, the autofrettage pressure, working pressure and cylinder diameters, studied of a response surface model to predict design parameters. We firstly used the optimal Latin Hypercube method to acquire the sample points. Then, we established a response surface model with these points. We also employed cross-validation error analysis for error analysis. The results tested the feasibility of this method in solving such problems.
