According to the requirements on the layout of all assemblies and practical driving, a basic structure model for the articulated rhombus concept chassis is set up by using basic structure method. With minimizing the mass as objective, the stiffness and strength of all structural components, including side rails and cross members under various typical loading conditions as constraints, and the position and section size of all components as design variables, a topology optimization on the structure of articulated rhombus concept chassis is conducted. Finally the results of tests verify the effectiveness of the topology optimization scheme used.
