A semi-automatic laser bonding system is developed to provide a localized heating manner for semiconductor device and MEMS encapsulation, especially for devices which have thermal-sensitive materials inside. This system consists of five modules, including laser module, motion module, fixture module, monitoring module and control module. Several bonding tests are carried out using this system with different sets of system parameters, including laser power, laser beam radius and laser moving velocity. Good bonding results are achieved with proper combinations of the system parameters, which also certifies this system is workable.

On the basis of the analysis to the framework of AM-OLED display controllers, a key module — synchronous module is studied. In this paper, a FIFO circuit(first in first out) is designed using Gray convert technology and dual-port ram, which realizing scatheless transmit between different clock domain. The working principle of FIFO is analyzed, and the optimized FIFO circuit structure was put forward to improve the working stability of the FIFO. The synchronous module circuit was implemented by Verilog HDL language simulated through VCS(Verilog compiled simulator). The design had been applied successfully to a type of full colour TFTLED panel driver controller with gray levels 256, frame scanning frequency 60 Hz ~ 100 Hz. The testing results showed that this controller worked well with a stable and vivid display.

Salient object segmentation is an important technique for many content based applications. This paper presents an unsupervised salient object segmentation method under the graph cut optimization framework. First, we exploit a kernel density estimation based saliency model to generate the saliency map, which provides the useful cues for object segmentation. Then we exploit the saliency map to adaptively define the region cost term, the boundary cost term and their balancing weight in the cost function, which is minimized using graph cut to obtain a binary segmentation of salient objects. Experimental results on a variety of images demonstrate the better segmentation performance of our approach.

Seam carving is a new image retargeting method, which can alleviate the distortion on the main content of the image compared to the traditional scaling method. However, the original seam carving method uses the gradient amplitudes of pixels to construct the energy map, but neglects the gradient directions of pixels. Actually, the gradient direction refers to the direction where the pixel has the maximum rate of change. We can use the gradient direction of pixels to construct the direction map, and then naturally generate multiple seams from top to bottom based on the direction map. In addition, we use the priority windows to avoid intersecting seams. Experimental results show that our method can accelerate the speed of seam carving about 98 times while maintaining the quality of the image retargeting result.

This paper proposes a nonparametric saliency model based on kernel density estimation (KDE) mainly aiming at content-based applications such as salient object segmentation. A set of KDE models are constructed on the basis of regions segmented using the mean shift algorithm. For each pixel, a set of color likelihood measures to all KDE models are calculated, and then the color saliency and spatial saliency of each KDE model are evaluated based on its color distinctiveness and spatial distribution. The final saliency map is generated by combining saliency measures of KDE models and color likelihood measures of pixels. Experimental results demonstrate the better saliency detection performance of our saliency model.
