With the increase in complexity of VLSI and the test cost of automatic test equipment (ATE), logic built-in self-test (BIST) has been widely applied. In order to reduce the test time of logic BIST, logic BIST with multiple scan chains has been proposed. However, the main shortcoming of logic BIST with multiple scan chains is low fault coverage (FC). A novel two-dimensional cellular automata (2-DCA), which is called two-dimensional restricted vertical neighbor cellular automata (2-DRVNCA), is proposed to resolve this problem. Using this 2-DRVNCA as pseudorandom test pattern generator (PRPG), high FC can be achieved. In the last, this PRPG is applied on some benchmark circuits of ISCAS'89, and average FC (82% ~ 89%) is obtained.

Fluid dispensing was one of the main packaging technologies in the electronics industry. This study developed a control system for the adhesive jetting machine to match the no-contact requirement with high frequency and *** main control body was the computer and the control objects were the motion platform, jetting dispenser and temperature controller. The system had two control levels: the top level for the body and the bottom level for the objects. The developed software applied a hybrid programming based on Lab VIEW and Motion Assist 2.0 to provide a better operation performance and friendly interface. The prototype machine could achieve the programmed tasks after the mechanical structure and control system fabrication and the developed software installation.

More and more analog and mixed-signal (AMS) blocks are integrated into SoC (system-on-chip) platform due to intense market competition. In this paper we proposed a method for IP integration of mixed-signal SoCs. With continuous growing of design scale and complex validation of mixed-signal functions, a new verification methodology for large mixed-signal SoC designs using Synopsys Discovery AMS platform is given to handle the daunting challenge. We will give a brief introduction with an example of SoC design which contains a reusable 10-bit SAR ADC IP block. And the detailed flow of using NanoSim-VCS co-simulation environment for the example is elaborated.

Anisotropic conductive films (ACFs) are composed of an adhesive polymer matrix and fine conductive fillers using metallic particle or metal-coated polymer balls. Flip chip interconnection using ACF is being widely used in the electronic packaging. In this paper, two-dimensional nonlinear finite element analysis model was built to simulate effects of bumps' metallization on the stress and strain distributions of ACF interconnections for flip-chip-on-flex (COF) applications. The simulation results show that the bump metallization has big influence on the stress and strain. Under the thermal mechanical simulation, the stress is mainly relied on the Young's modulus of the bump while the strain is mainly depended on the CTE of the bump. In some kinds of bump/pad metallization, such as gold, nickel and copper, the copper has smaller stress, only bigger than gold, and minimum strain. If both chip bump and substrate bump fabricated by same copper, the galvanic corrosion, which occurs between two different metals and the main cause attributed to the shift of the contact resistance of ACF, does not exist. Among the various hand gestures, pointing gesture is highly intuitive, and does not require any priori assumptions. A major problem for pointing gesture recognition is the difficulty of pointing fingertip tracking and the unreliability of the direction estimation. A novel real-time method is developed for pointing gesture recognition using Kinect based depth image and skeletal points tracking. An adaptive virtual touch screen is constructed instead of estimating pointing direction. When a user stands in a certain distance from a large screen to perform pointing behaviors, he interacts with the virtual touch screen as if it is just right in front of him. The proposed method is suitable for both large and small pointing gestures, and it's not subject to users' characteristics and environmental changes. Experiments have highlighted that the proposed approach is robust and efficient to realize human-computer interaction based on pointing gesture recognition by comparisons.

In this paper an efficient compressed domain moving object segmentation algorithm is proposed, in which the motion vector (MV) field parsed from the compressed video is the only cue used for moving object segmentation. First the MV field is temporally and spatially normalized, and then accumulated by an iterative backward projection to enhance salient motions and alleviate noisy MVs. The accumulated MV field is then segmented into motion-homogenous regions using a modified statistical region growing approach. Finally, moving object regions are extracted in turn based on minimization of the joint prediction error using the estimated motion models of two region sets containing the candidate object region and other remaining regions, respectively. Experimental results on several H.264 compressed video sequences demonstrate good segmentation performance.
