With the gradual maturity of the microfluidic technology,the integration of the microfluidic chip technology and optofluidic methods in microstructured optical fibers(MOFs)has gradually formed a highly attractive new research *** this paper,we summarize our recent work focusing on the microfluidic sensing technology based on microhole *** design and fabrication of such microfluidic fibers,device processing and fabrication techniques based on microfluidic fibers,and surface modification and coating methods for fibers are systematically ***,several typical cases combining the optical fiber and microfluidic substance detection are presented.

A numerical simulation study is carried out to investigate the influence of bolt tightening process on the distribution of bolt preload force and deformation of linear guide assembly. Firstly, the basic principle of elastic interaction of bolt groups is described and a mathematical characterization model is established. Secondly, the influence of bolt tightening order is analyzed, and it is found that the cross-tightening result is better than the sequential tightening. Finally, the step-by-step tightening strategy of bolts is studied, and the influence of different tightening volume allocation schemes on the residual preload force of bolts and the deformation of the guide rail assembly is analyzed through simulation and comparison of different tightening volume allocation schemes under two-step cross-tightening. The results show that when the guide rail bolts are tightened by two-step cross-tightening and the first step tightening amount is 70%, the consistency of the bolt residual preload is the best, and the maximum deformation of the guide rail is the smallest. © 2024 SPIE.

In the face of complex terrain, the performance of robots with single motion mode is poor. This paper proposes a mobile robot based on the Sarrus mechanism and octahedral structure of spatial closed chain linkage based on the current research status. After planning of rolling modes, wheeled mode and hybrid mode, the mobile robot can be operated to gain the mobility of traversal movement by specified control method. When facing ordinary road surface and terrains, the robot achieves excellent adaptability to different environment compared with conventional mobile robot. © 2024 ACM.

Automated Fiber Placement(AFP)technology facilitates the manufacturing process of composite structures with complex geometry owing to its high efficiency and *** unavoidable imperfections induced by the automated layup method bring challenges to the stability of the final mechanical properties of *** influence of AFP-induced gaps and overlaps on the modeⅡinterlaminar fracture process of oven-cured laminates is experimentally investigated and explicitly ***-Notched Flexure(ENF)tests were performed to measure the interlaminar fracture toughness of unidirectional laminates under three different defect configurations,namely"Gap""Overlap"and"Gap&Overlap".A marginal decline(about-1.2%in non-precracked tests,-5.1%in precracked tests)and an obvious increase(about 15.2%in nonprecracked tests,5.2%in precracked tests)in fracture toughness were observed for the"Gap"group and the"Overlap"group,*** studies which involve the metallographic observation and Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM)observation revealed that the increases in fracture area and crack length helped improve the fracture toughness of the Overlap"***,the resin-rich area with high porosity induced by gaps was detrimental to the delamination *** capture the interlaminar stress distribution local to imperfections,a three-dimensional numerical model was *** defects facilitate the local delamination process,and the overlap defect postpones the damage onset and the propagation.

Recent Patents on Petroleum Pipe Inspection Gauge in China

Background: As the demand for petroleum products grows, pipes to carry these products are also required extensively. Consequently, petroleum pipe blockage has become a frequent and severe problem in China. In order to ensure trouble-free operation, it is necessary to clean and in-spect the petroleum pipe regularly. However, currently available petroleum pipe inspection gauges can block the petroleum pipe easily, and their cleaning efficiency is not as high as desired. There-fore, mechanisms to prevent pipe blockage and ensure high-efficiency cleaning are being given much importance in studies on petroleum pipe inspection gauges. Objective: The aim of the study is to review recent patents related to petroleum pipe inspection gauges in China and forecast possible designs that can mitigate present-day problems associated with petroleum pipe inspection gauges. Methods: This paper has studied and compared various representative patents relevant to the petroleum pipe inspection gauge. Results: A large number of patents filed in China related to petroleum pipe inspection gauges have been studied and the anti-blocking mechanism as well as the cleaning efficiency of the petroleum pipe inspection gauges described in those patents have been analyzed and compared. Forecasts were made regarding the possible development trajectories in the design of petroleum pipe inspection gauges. Conclusion: The problems of easy blockage and poor cleaning efficiency are yet unsolved for petroleum pipe inspection gauges. It is expected that future work will focus on the development of pigging, new materials, power sources, and intelligent control to resolve these issues. © 2022 Bentham Science Publishers.

The stability and uniformity of solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)are critical for clarifying the origin of capacity fade and safety issues for lithium metal anodes(LMA).However,understanding the interplay of SEI heterogeneity and Li electrodeposition is limited by the coupling of complex electrochemistry and mechanics ***,the correlation between the SEI failure behavior and Li deposition morphology is investigated through a quantitative electrochemical-mechanical *** local deformation and stress of SEI during Li electrodeposition identify that the heterogeneous interface between different components first *** with the well-known mechanical strength,component uniformity plays the most important role in the initial SEI failure and uneven Li deposition,and a relative component uniformity(p>0.01)represents a proper balance to ensure the stability of the naturally heterogeneous ***,the component regulation of SEI via the designed electrolyte experimentally demonstrates that improving component uniformity benefits SEI stability and the uniform Li electrodeposition for LMA,thereby increasing the capacity by~20%after 300 *** fundamental understandings and proposed strategy can be not only used to guide the SEI optimization via the electrolyte regulation,but also extended to the rational designs of artificial SEI for high-performance LMA.

To solve the rehabilitation problem of hand dysfunction caused by stroke and other accidental injuries, an underactuated four-finger three-joint hand rehabilitation mechanism with good physical human-robot interaction performance was designed. The configuration design and operation principle of the mechanism were introduced at first. At the same time, the statics analysis and kinematics simulation of the mechanism were carried out. Finally, the prototype was developed to complete the performance test and operation reliability experiment. The robot innovatively designs a power transmission system using only connecting rod mechanism. Compared with the traditional gear drive or hybrid drive ones, it has a simple structure and can realize synchronous movement of three joints driven by a motor. The experimental results of the prototype show that the mechanism can meet the needs of human finger rehabilitation and effectively improve the physical human-robot interaction performance. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2023.

Ethylene purification in a metal–organic framework over a wide temperature range via pore confinement

The separation of C2H4from C_(2)H_(6)/C_(2)H_(4)mixture is of great importance but difficult and energy intensive. Adsorptive separation provides an alternative approach to ameliorate this situation. Here, we report a microporous metal–organic framework(MOF) BUT-315-a as a C_(2)H_(6)-selective adsorbent for the separation of C2H6/C2H4gas mixture. BUT-315-a combines good IAST selectivity of 2.35 with high C_(2)H_(6)uptake of 97.5 cm^(3)g^(-1), giving superior high separation potential ΔQ(2226 mmol L^(-1)) for equimolar C_(2)H_(6)/C_(2)H_(4) at 298 K. Impressively, such excellent performance can be preserved at higher temperatures of 313 and 323 K to accommodate industrial conditions. Efficient dynamic separation performance of BUT-315-a has been demonstrated by column breakthrough experiments under varied temperatures and gas ratios. Theoretical calculations further reveal multiple synergistic interactions between C_(2)H_(6) and the framework. This work highlights a new benchmark material for C_(2)H_(6)/C_(2)H_(4)separation and provides guidance for designing adsorbent for separation applications.

Alternating extrusion(AFE)is a new way to effectively alter the texture and enhance the mechanical properties of the extruded ***,the mechanisms of microstructure evolution and enhancement of hardness are still unknown by different extrusion ratios(ERs)during *** work systematically investigated the microstructure and hardness of AZ31 alloy with various extrusion ratios of 8.1,15.6,and 24.8 by electron backscattered *** most striking result to emerge from the data is that when the ERs were increased from 8.1 to 15.6,the grain size was refined to 7.13μ***,when the ER reached 24.8,the average grain size was 11.43μ*** proportion of recrystallization was only 2.92%,there was a continuous rotation of sub-grains at coarse grain boundaries,and non-basal slipdislocations were activated and enriched near low-angle grain *** present,the recrystallization has not been *** grains of the product are coarsened,and the hardness is ***λ=15.6,the AFE has a significant grain refinement effect and the highest hardness value.

A walker is a tool that uses the person's own remaining locomotion capability to provide support while walking. The user's operating comfort determines the utilization rate and auxiliary effect of the device. Users' different operating postures and different walking styles bring different operating feelings to users. However, few people have explored the visual analysis method of the user's operating comfort of the walker. The purpose of this study is to provide an intuitive method for analyzing the user comfort of walkers by using a motion capture system and upper limb motion dexterity, and to provide solutions for human-robot interaction strategies. Ten healthy male volunteers without upper limb diseases were tested with standard walker and front-wheel walker respectively. Based on the kinematic model proposed in this paper, the upper limb motion trajectory is measured by the VICON motion capture system, and the user's comfort in operating the walker is analyzed using the wrist point motion track tangent and manipulability ellipsoid. The wrist point motion track tangent and motion ability can intuitively analyze the user's operating comfort at any stage. The results show that there is a deviation between the wrist point motion track tangent and the optimal motion direction in the assisted gait, which is related to the structure and operation mode of the walker. The research method provided by this experiment can further understand the user's operation rules during the operation of the walker, and is of great significance to improve the user's operation comfort and control smoothness. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.
