In order to optimize the coil design of electric vehicle (EV) high power resonant wireless power transfer (WPT) system and improve its transfer efficiency, an equivalent circuit model of two-coil series-series topology is analyzed in this paper. Four optimal factors that affect the system transfer efficiency are proposed, i.e. the number of coil turns, the mean radius of coils, the transfer distance and the load. Based on the consideration of the equivalent series resistance of the coils, it can be found that the number of coil turns, the mean coil radius, and the load have the optimal values for the optimal transfer efficiency, while the shorter the transfer distance is, the higher the transfer efficiency is. By using the simulation software COMSOL, similar relationships between four factors and the transfer efficiency can be achieved with the calculation results. Moreover, by repeating the calculation using the simulation coil resistance, the differences between the calculation results and the simulation results are explained. Therefore, the WPT coil optimal method with proposed four optimal factors is verified through calculation and simulation.

In order to evaluate the hydraulic performance of a regulator, the pressure loss and the stabilization performance of the regulator installed in the fire water monitor were introduced. The effects of structures on a regulator were investigated by the structural model made in UG and the flow simulation conducted in ANSYS. The hydraulic performance of a star-shaped regulator was analyzed with different structure parameters, such as the blade number, axial length and rounded-corner. The effects of structure parameters on the regulator were revealed, based on which the hydraulic performance of the improved regulator with different blade numbers was analyzed. The results show that the improved regulator with two cross-sections in dislocation and six even-distributed blades has the better hydraulic performance. The preliminary experimental results show that the improved regulator can improve the jet range of a fire water monitor.

With cloud manufacturing and its shared big-data, the life-cycle management of the massive distributed manufacturing resources can be considered as an ecosystem, in which every entity makes their own decisions depend on the enriched information, which will affect the life cycle of the resources and the overall industry states. In this paper, an original operation mode with three extensions are proposed to describe the life cycle vicissitude of each resource. An agent-based model was designed to simulate the ecosystem modes from the very beginning, and the results show that the ecosystem has: 1) shorter job queue length and lower resource idle rate with incubation mode; 2) a little shorter job queue length and fewer amount of registered resource with outsourcing mode; 3) the fewest amount of registered resource but a little higher resource idle rate with metabolism mode.

Many parameters in a laser based powder bed fusion process affect the part property. In this research, experiments were designed to study how scanning pattern affects the properties of printed 17-4 PH stainless steel parts. Five different representative scanning patterns were adopted. Micro hardness, density and energy consumption values of the sample parts were analyzed. Micro hardness was evenly distributed, and above the standard hardness value. Hardness in cross section is generally higher than that in vertical section. Density of parts in concentric line pattern is the lowest, and continuous mesh is the highest. Using continuous mesh, it consumed more energy than others.

Most electronic properties of metals are determined solely by the low-energy states around the Fermi level and, for topological metals/semimetals, these low-energy states become distinct because of their unusual energy dispersion and emergent pseudospin degree of freedom. Here, we propose a class of materials which are termed as quadratic contact point (QCP) semimetals. In these materials, the conduction and valence bands contact at isolated points in the Brillouin zone, around which the band dispersions are quadratic along all three directions. We show that in the absence/presence of spin-orbit coupling, there may exist triply/quadruply degenerate QCPs that are protected by the crystalline symmetry. We construct effective models to characterize the low-energy fermions near these QCPs. Under strong magnetic field, unlike the usual 3D electron gas, there appear unconventional features in the Landau spectrum. The QCP semimetal phase is adjacent to a variety of topological phases. For example, by breaking symmetries via Zeeman field or lattice strain, it can be transformed into a Weyl semimetal with Weyl and double Weyl points, a Z2 topological insulator/metal, or a Dirac semimetal. Via first-principles calculations, we identify realistic materials Cu2Se and RhAs3 as candidates for QCP semimetals.

According to the improved model of the vehicle-ballastless slab track-subgrade coupling system, the effects of cement asphalt mortar (CA) disengagement on dynamic characteristics of vehicle and track are analysed. The results show that when the CA mortar longitudinal disengagement length exceeds 0.65m and the horizontal disengagement degree exceeds 0.5, the maximum and minimum of wheel-rail force, the maximum of the displacement of track system change obviously with the increase of CA mortar disengagement length. The effect of CA mortar disengagement on track system is larger than the vehicle system. The CA mortar disengagement should be repaired timely.

This paper presents a fully dynamic model based control algorithm for the path tracking of four-wheel-steer four-wheel-drive (4WS4WD) vehicle. The modeling of 4WS4WD vehicle indicates that the vehicle has a higher control flexibility which can provide a better performance in overcoming the force disturbances from the ground. By combining the model predictive control (MPC) and control allocation, the over-actuated system is decoupled and the accurate path tracking is achieved. Simulation results are provided to validate the proposed methodology.
