Industrial aerodynamic system (IAS) involves a series of compressors to provide the compressed air for consumer of steel industrial park, which consumes a substantial amount of electrical energy and attracts a considerable attention for energy conservation and efficiency enhancement. The usage pattern of these compressors, influenced by the cyclic and intermittent nature of production schedules, leads to varying operational profiles. Traditional manual adjustments are often inadequate due to the differ in expert knowledge, resulting in increased energy consumption. To tackle this challenge, we propose an innovative approach termed as data-driven multi-agent deep reinforcement learning (DMA-DRL) to achieve the operational optimization of IAS. Initially, we construct a multi-operational model for the air compressor group by leveraging historical data from industrial sites and understanding equipment operation principles; Considering the constraints in terms of production process conditions and equipment safety, we establish a data-driven optimization scheduling method for air compressor units based on multi-agent deep reinforcement learning, which ensures the secure and stable operation of the system under complex conditions. Finally, the proposed method is applied to the performance testing of an industrial park air compressor simulation system, which outperforms the various optimization strategies in aspect of operational cost and energy efficiency.

In this paper, the finite-time adaptive control issue is addressed for a class of switched strict-feedback nonlinear systems with input quantization and output constraints. Firstly, the barrier Lyapunov function is introduced to cope with statistic output constraints, and with the help of Young's inequality, only one learning parameter of neural networks needs to be tuned online at each step of recursion. Then, a hysteresis quantizer is introduced to handle the input signal. Finally, by appropriately choosing the initial value of the switched subsystem and using the characteristics of dynamic surface control, finite-time adaptive neural quantized control is designed to guarantee that all signals are semi-globally practical finite-time stable. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed means.

Grain size control in quasi-two-dimensional perovskite thin film via intermediate phase engineering for efficient bound exciton generation

Quasi-two dimensional(2D)perovskites have emerged as a promising class of materials due to their remarkable photoluminescence efficiency,which stems from their exceptionally high exciton binding *** spatial confinement of excitons within smaller grain sizes could enhance the formation of biexcitons leading to higher radiative recombination ***,the synthesis of high-quality quasi-2D perovskite thin films with controllable grain sizes remains a challenging *** this study,we present a facile method for achieving quasi-2D perovskite thin films with controllable grain sizes ranging from 500 to 900 *** is accomplished by intermediate phase engineering during the film fabrication *** results demonstrate that quasi-2D perovskite films with smaller grain sizes exhibit more efficient bound exciton generation and a reduced stimulated emission threshold down to 15.89µJ cm^(−2).Furthermore,femtosecond transient absorption measurements reveal that the decay time of bound excitons is shorter in quasi-2D perovskites with smaller grain sizes compared to that of those with larger grains at the same pump density,which is 230.5 *** observation suggests a more efficient exciton recombination process in the smaller grain size *** findings would offer a promising approach for the development of efficient bound exciton lasers.

Multiple control Functionals for Interconnected Time-Delay Systems

Safety is essential for autonomous systems, in particular for interconnected systems in which the interactions among subsystems are involved. Motivated by the recent interest in cyber-physical and interconnected autonomous systems, we address the safe stabilization problem of interconnected systems with time delays. We propose multiple control Lyapunov and barrier functionals for the stabilization and safety control problems, respectively. In order to investigate the safe stabilization control problem, the proposed multiple control functionals are combined together via two methods: the optimization-based method and the sliding mode based method. The resulting controllers can be of either explicit or implicit forms, both of which ensure the safe stabilization objective of the whole system. The derived results are illustrated via a reach-avoid problem of multi-robot systems. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Generative Adversarial Network-Based Optimal Energy Storage Capacity Configuration for Newly–Build Microgrids

In the initial stage of microgrid construction, historical data is limited. It is challenging to address the issues of the small amount of data and high uncertainty of renewable energy when proceeding with capacity configuration. This study performs Wasserstein distance-based generative adversarial network with gradient penalty (WGAN-GP) to enhance the original 30 days PV power generation scenario data. Furthermore, the improved data is used to build a distributionally robust optimization model based on various discrete scenarios to determine the optimal capacity configuration of energy storage in newly–built microgrids. The results obtained from the solution are compared with those of traditional stochastic optimization and robust optimization, and the robustness of the results is verified by sensitivity analysis. The comparison results demonstrate that the strategy employed in this study can better address the issues of limited data and uncertainty in renewable energy in the capacity configuration process of newly-built microgrids. © 2024, The Authors. A closed-loop iterative learning fault-tolerant control scheme is proposed for batch process with actuator faults, in which the system parameters have uncertainties simultaneously. Firstly, the batch fault-tolerant controller is designed based on the two-dimensional (2D) system theory, and the batch process of iterative learning control is transformed to an equivalent 2D Roesser model. Then the sufficient conditions for the existence of the controller are analyzed in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique, and the control gain matrices are derived from the convex optimization problems with LMI constrains. Under these conditions of all additive uncertainties on system parameters and admissible failure, the proposed controller can ensure the closed-loop fault-tolerant performance along time. Finally, the simulation on injection molding nozzle pressure control simulation indicate that the proposed method achieve the design objective well, and show excellent fault tolerance performance. © 2021 IEEE.

Based on software radio technique, a novel improved design structure of digital Costas loop for spread spectrum communication is put forward in the paper. Main practical works includes: (1) For carrier recovery in the traditional Costas central, it improves a way applicable to the spread spectrum communication and gives a detailed mathematical deduction; (2) As for traditional QPSK modern methods, it joins the encoding, interleaving, de-interlacing, decoding, balanced module in the QPSK modulation and demodulation process in spread spectrum communications to reduce the system Bit error rate (BER); (3) a PN code magna-scope demodulator and two low power filers are added in order to get sensitive weighing signal. Simulation contrast results show that the improvement is feasible.

The project manager's role and influence on the project's overall outcome have fascinated many academicians, researchers, and practitioners. The project manager's leadership and human skills play a vital role in the project's outcome;therefore, it is imperative for these competencies to be identified, learned, and leadership styles to be adopted. This study aims to define the most relevant competencies to multidimensional project success and their interrelationship. The quantitative method was used by applying a survey to project managers and team members working in the public sector of Pakistan. The results suggest that a combination of emotional, managerial intelligence, and transformational leadership are stronger predictors of multidimensional public project success. This study has shown that management and leadership need to be integrated to achieve better results. Project managers need to combine soft and hard skills, leadership competencies, and management to engage with people and be effective in terms of processes, tasks, and objectives. © 1973-2011 IEEE.

Vector nozzle is an adjustable tail nozzle in aircraft engines. Due to the complex structure and coupling effect of each actuator, the traditional collaborative control methods can hardly achieve the required time synchronization. In this paper, an improved variable deviation collaborative control method is proposed to address such issues, which promotes the synchronization performance of nozzle actuators through an improved deviation coupler. At the same time, an adaptive disturbance rejection controller is used to enhance the robustness of the system. The experimental results show that the error of synchronization time of each actuator in the vector nozzle is less than 5%, and the steady-state error of displacement is less than 1%, which meets the requirement of practical engineering.

Combining pulverized coal gasifiers with cement kiln production is promising for application in low-cost and efficient NO *** paper presents a pulverized coal gasifier catalytic denitration technique and investigates the homogeneous reduction(by CO and CH_(4))and heterogeneous catalytic reduction(by coke,CaO,MgO,and Fe_(2)O_(3))of NO.A combination of Chemkin simulations and fixed-bed experiments is used to elucidate the reaction pathways and key intermediates of NO reduction by carbon-based *** addition,the activation energies for different catalyst combinations were analyzed via reaction *** results demonstrate that the presence of small amounts of O_(2) inhibits NO reduction by CO but promotes NO reduction by CH_(4).The NCO·radical is essential for the NO reduction process,and the generation of this radical depends on the CH_(4) cleavage intermediate and O·*** and Fe_(2)O_(3) exhibit more significant catalytic effects on NO reduction by carbon-based gases than the other catalysts *** presence of a small amount of O_(2) in the reacting gas mixtures facilitates the NO reduction *** activation energy is reduced to 1.02 kJ/mol,and the NO conversion reaches 99.80%when the catalyst is C+CaO+MgO+Fe_(2)O_(3) and the gas composition is CO+CH_(4)+O_(2).This work provides theoretical support and data recommendations for the use of pulverized coal gasifiers for the denitrification of cement kilns.
