Effect of High Content Limestone Powder on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Cement-based Materials

Compared with the control sample without limestone powder(LP), the mechanical properties of the sample with 30% LP can be significantly improved by using a small amount of water reducer to reduce the water-cement ratio, without significantly affecting the fluidity of the fresh mixture and increasing the economic cost. In addition, compared with the sole addition of limestone powder, dual addition of metakaolin and limestone powder can effectively improve the strengths. The reason of this phenomenon was investigated by means of XRD, TG-DTG, SEM, LF-NMR and isothermal calorimetry, etc. The reactive aluminum-rich phases in metakaolin react with limestone powder in the hydration process, and the formed calcium carboaluminate reduces the porosity and makes the hardened paste denser. The addition of ground granulated blast furnace slag can also improve the strength of the specimen added with limestone powder, whereas, the effect is inferior to that of metakaolin, for the ground granulated blast furnace slag contains less reactive aluminate phases, and accordingly, the amount of calcium carboaluminate generated is lower than that of metakaolin.

The construction of two kinds of bijections in simple random walk paths

MSC Codes 60C05, 60J10It is known that for the 2n-step symmetric simple random walk on , two events have the same probability if and only if their sets of paths have the same cardinality. In this article, we construct two kinds of bijections between sets of paths with the same cardinality. The construction is natural and simple. It can be easily realized through programming. More importantly, this construction opens a door to prove that two events in the 2n-step symmetric simple random walk on Z have the same probability and some further related results. Different psychiatric disorders share genetic relationships and pleiotropic loci to certain *** integrated and analyzed datasets related to major depressive disorder(MDD),bipolar disorder(BIP),and schizophrenia(SCZ)from the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium using multitrait analysis of genome-wide association analysis(MTAG).MTAG significantly increased the effective sample size from 99,773 to 119,754 for MDD,from 909,061 to 1,450,972 for BIP,and from 856,677 to 940,613 for *** discovered 7,32,and 43 novel lead single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)and 1,6,and 3 novel causal SNPs for MDD,BIP,and SCZ,respectively,after *** identified rs8039305 in the FURIN gene as a novel pleiotropic locus across the three *** performed marker analysis of genomic annotation(MAGMA)and Hi-C-coupled MAGMA(H-MAGMA)based gene-set analysis and identified 101 genes associated with the three disorders,which were enriched in the regulation of postsynaptic membranes,postsynaptic membrane dopaminergic synapses,and Notch signaling ***,we performed Mendelian randomization analysis using different tools and detected a causal effect of BIP on ***,we demonstrated the usage of combined genome-wide association studies summary statistics for exploring potential novel mechanisms of the three psychiatric disorders,providing an alternative approach to integrate publicly available summary data.

Neural Networks Perform Sufficient Dimension Reduction

This paper investigates the connection between neural networks and sufficient dimension reduction (SDR), demonstrating that neural networks inherently perform SDR in regression tasks under appropriate rank regularizations. Specifically, the weights in the first layer span the central mean subspace. We establish the statistical consistency of the neural network-based estimator for the central mean subspace, underscoring the suitability of neural networks in addressing SDR-related challenges. Numerical experiments further validate our theoretical findings, and highlight the underlying capability of neural networks to facilitate SDR compared to the existing methods. Additionally, we discuss an extension to unravel the central subspace, broadening the scope of our investigation. © 2024, CC BY.

We present a novel constraint on light dark matter utilizing 1.54 metric ton/year of data acquired from the PandaX-4T dual-phase xenon time projection chamber. This constraint is derived through detecting electronic recoil signals resulting from the interaction with solar-enhanced dark matter flux. Low-mass dark matter particles, lighter than a few MeV/c2, can scatter with the thermal electrons in the Sun. Consequently, with higher kinetic energy, the boosted dark matter component becomes detectable via contact scattering with xenon electrons, resulting in a few keV energy deposition that exceeds the threshold of PandaX-4T. We calculate the expected recoil energy in PandaX-4T considering the Sun’s acceleration with heavy mediators and the detection capabilities of the xenon detector. The first experimental search results using the xenon detector yield the most stringent upper limits cross section of 3.51×10−39 cm2 at 0.08 MeV/c2 for a solar boosted dark matter mass ranging from 0.02 to 10 MeV/c2, achieving a 23-fold improvement compared with earlier experimental studies.

An Analysis for Thermal Conductivity of Graphene/Polymer Nanocomposites 1

Graphene/polymer nanocomposites have attracted much more attention due to its high thermal conductivity up to 5300 W/mK, as well as the lightweight, noncorrosive and elastic properties of the polymer matrix. At present, the existing experimental results have shown that the thermal conductivity of graphene/polymer nanocomposites can be effectively improved by increasing the aspect ratio of graphene, or increasing the transverse size and thickness of graphene at the same time under the condition of constant aspect ratio. In this study, the influence of the number of GNSs layers and size on the isotropic thermal conductivity of the composites are revealed based on Maxwell's effective medium theory by considering the effect of the number of GNSs layers on the interface thermal resistance and the thermal conductivity of GNSs. The expressions of equivalent thermal conductivity for the isotropic GNSs/polymer composites are obtained. The numerical results obtained in this paper are agree well with experimental data. And these results show that the thermal conductivity of the isotropy composites increases with the increase of GNSs layers, concentration and aspect ratio. Limit Properties of Record Numbers in Random walks

In this paper, we systematically summarize and enhance the understanding of weak convergence and functional limits of record numbers in discrete-time random walks under Spitzer's condition, and extend these findings to σ-record numbers using similar methods. Additionally, we identify a sufficient condition for the existence of functional limits for record numbers in continuous-time random walks. Finally, we derive corresponding results for large deviations, moderate deviations, and laws of the iterated logarithm pertaining to record numbers in discrete-time random walks.
