We present a new measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |Vcb| from B0→D*−ℓ+νℓ decays, reconstructed with the full Belle data set of 711 fb−1 integrated luminosity. Two form factor parametrizations, originally conceived by the Caprini-Lellouch-Neubert (CLN) and the Boyd, Grinstein and Lebed (BGL) groups, are used to extract the product F(1)ηEW|Vcb| and the decay form factors, where F(1) is the normalization factor and ηEW is a small electroweak correction. In the CLN parametrization we find F(1)ηEW|Vcb|=(35.06±0.15±0.56)×10−3, ρ2=1.106±0.031±0.007, R1(1)=1.229±0.028±0.009, R2(1)=0.852±0.021±0.006. For the BGL parametrization we obtain F(1)ηEW|Vcb|=(34.93±0.23±0.59)×10−3, which is consistent with the world average when correcting for F(1)ηEW. The branching fraction of B0→D*−ℓ+νℓ is measured to be B(B0→D*−ℓ+νℓ)=(4.90±0.02±0.16)%. We also present a new test of lepton flavor universality violation in semileptonic B decays, B(B0→D*−e+ν)B(B0→D*−μ+ν)=1.01±0.01±0.03. The errors quoted correspond to the statistical and systematic uncertainties, respectively. This is the most precise measurement of F(1)ηEW|Vcb| and form factors to date and the first experimental study of the BGL form factor parametrization in an experimental measurement.

Using data samples of e+e− collisions collected at the ϒ(1S), ϒ(2S), and ϒ(3S) resonances with the Belle detector, we search for the three-body decay of the Ω(2012) baryon to KπΞ. This decay is predicted to dominate for models describing the Ω(2012) as a KΞ(1530) molecule. No significant Ω(2012) signals are observed in the studied channels, and 90% credibility level upper limits on the ratios of the branching fractions relative to KΞ decay modes are obtained.

A search for the decays B+→hcK+ and B0→hcKS0 is performed. Evidence for the decay B+→hcK+ is found; its significance is 4.8σ. No evidence is found for B0→hcKS0. The branching fraction for B+→hcK+ is measured to be (3.7−0.9+1.0 −0.8+0.8)×10−5; the upper limit for the B0→hcKS0 branching fraction is 1.4×10−5 at 90% C.L. In addition, a study of the pp¯π+π− invariant mass distribution in the channel B+→(pp¯π+π−)K+ results in the first observation of the decay ηc(2S)→pp¯π+π− with 12.1σ significance. The analysis is based on the 711 fb−1 data sample collected by the Belle detector at the asymmetric-energy e+e− collider KEKB at the ϒ(4S) resonance.

We find B(B¯0→D+π−)=(2.48±0.01±0.09±0.04)×10−3 and B(B¯0→D+K−)=(2.03±0.05±0.07±0.03)×10−4 decays, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third uncertainty is due to the D+→K−π+π+ branching fraction. The ratio of branching fractions of B¯0→D+K− and B¯0→D+π− is measured to be RD=[8.19±0.20(stat)±0.23(syst)]×10−2. These measurements are performed using the full Belle dataset, which corresponds to 772×106BB¯ pairs and use the Belle II software framework for data analysis.

We report measurements of the production cross sections of charged pions, kaons, and protons as a function of fractional energy, the event-shape variable called thrust, and the transverse momentum with respect to the thrust axis. These measurements access the transverse momenta created in the fragmentation process, which are of critical importance to the understanding of any transverse-momentum-dependent distribution and fragmentation functions. The low transverse-momentum part of the cross sections can be well described by Gaussians in transverse momentum as is generally assumed but the fractional-energy dependence is nontrivial and different hadron types have varying Gaussian widths. The width of these Gaussians decreases with thrust and shows an initially rising, then decreasing fractional-energy dependence. The widths for pions and kaons are comparable within uncertainties, while those for protons are significantly narrower. These single-hadron cross sections and Gaussian widths are obtained from a 558 fb−1 data sample collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider.

Using data samples of 89.5 fb−1, 711.0 fb−1, and 121.4 fb−1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider at center-of-mass energies 10.52, 10.58, and 10.867 GeV, respectively, we study the exclusive reactions e+e−→γχcJ (J=0, 1, 2) and e+e−→γηc. A significant γχc1 signal is observed for the first time at s=10.58 GeV with a significance of 5.1σ including systematic uncertainties. No significant excesses for γχc0, γχc2, and γηc final states are found, and we set 90% credibility level upper limits on the Born cross sections (σB) at 10.52 GeV, 10.58 GeV, and 10.867 GeV. Together with cross sections measured by BESIII at lower center-of-mass energies, the energy dependency of σB(e+e−→γχc1) is obtained.

Using 980 fb−1 of data at and around the ϒ(nS) (n=1, 2, 3, 4, 5) resonances collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider, the two-photon process γγ→γψ(2S) is studied from the threshold to 4.2 GeV for the first time. Two structures are seen in the invariant mass distribution of γψ(2S): one at MR1=3922.4±6.5±2.0 MeV/c2 with a width of ΓR1=22±17±4 MeV, and another at MR2=4014.3±4.0±1.5 MeV/c2 with a width of ΓR2=4±11±6 MeV; the signals are parametrized with the incoherent sum of two Breit-Wigner functions. The first structure is consistent with the X(3915) or the χc2(3930), and the local statistical significance is determined to be 3.1σ with the systematic uncertainties included. The second matches none of the known charmonium or charmoniumlike states, and its global significance is determined to be 2.8σ including the look-elsewhere effect. The production rates are ΓγγB(R1→γψ(2S))=9.8±3.6±1.3 eV assuming (JPC,|λ|)=(0++,0) or 2.0±0.7±0.2 eV with (2++,2) for the first structure and ΓγγB(R2→γψ(2S))=6.2±2.2±0.8 eV with (0++,0) or 1.2±0.4±0.2 eV with (2++,2) for the second. Here, the first errors are statistical and the second systematic, and λ is the helicity.

We report a search for the charmless baryonic decay B0→pp¯π0 with a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 711 fb−1 containing (772±10)×106 BB¯ pairs. The data were collected by the Belle experiment running on the ϒ(4S) resonance at the KEKB e+e− collider. We measure a branching fraction B(B0→pp¯π0)=(5.0±1.8±0.6)×10−7, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The signal has a significance of 3.1 standard deviations and constitutes the first evidence for this decay mode. We also search for the intermediate two-body decays B0→Δ+p¯ and B0→Δ¯−p, and set an upper limit on the branching fraction, B(B0→Δ+p¯)+B(B0→Δ¯−p)<1.6×10−6 at 90% confidence level.

A search for the flavor-changing neutral-current decay B+→K+νν¯ is performed at the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 63 fb−1 collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance and a sample of 9 fb−1 collected at an energy 60 MeV below the resonance. Because the measurable decay signature involves only a single charged kaon, a novel measurement approach is used that exploits not only the properties of the B+→K+νν¯ decay, but also the inclusive properties of the other B meson in the ϒ(4S)→BB¯ event, to suppress the background from other B meson decays and light-quark pair production. This inclusive tagging approach offers a higher signal efficiency compared to previous searches. No significant signal is observed. An upper limit on the branching fraction of B+→K+νν¯ of 4.1×10−5 is set at the 90% confidence level.
