All optical diodes (AODs) play an important role in quantum optics and information processing, in which the information is encoded by photons. Only circularly polarized lights are able to carry the spin states of photons, which has been intensively used in quantum computing and information processing and enable new research fields, such as chiral quantum optics. An ideal AOD should be able to work with arbitrary polarizations states, including circularly polarized lights, which has not been demonstrated yet. In this paper, we theoretically demonstrate for the first time a nanophotonic AOD that is able to work with circularly polarized lights. The AOD nanostructure is based on a heterostructure of two-dimension silica and silicon photonic crystals (PhCs). By controlling the effective refractive indices of the PhCs and using an inclined interface, we are able to exploit generalized total reflection principle to achieve non-reciprocal transmission of circularly polarized lights. In addition, the nanophotonic AOD is able to achieve high forward transmittance (>0.6) and high contrast ratio (~1) in a broad wavelength range (1497 nm～1666 nm). The designed nanophotonic AOD will find broad applications in optical quantum information processing and computing. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Detection of DNA Bases Using Fe Atoms and Graphene

The adsorption of DNA bases on a magnetic probe composed of Fe atoms and graphene is studied by using first- principles calculations. The stability of geometry, the electronic structure and magnetic property are investigated. The results indicate that four DNA bases, i.e., adenine, thymine, cytosine and guanine, can all be adsorbed on the probe solidly. However, the magnetic moments of the composite structure can be observed only when adenine adsorbs on the probe. In the cases of the adsorption of the other three bases, the magnetic moments of the composite structure are zero. Based on the significant change of magnetic moment of the composite structure, adenine can be distinguished conveniently from thymine, cytosine and guanine. This work may provide a new way to detect DNA bases.

Blackbody radiation source is a key equipment in the traceability process of temperature measurement. In infrared temperature measurement, stable and consistent temperature control of the blackbody radiation sources is required. And in the process of calibration, it is a key element that a blackbody radiation source can produce a fixed temperature. Effective control of its temperature is, therefore, crucial. Due to the change of parameters and the uncertainty of loads, the performance requirements for conventional Proportional, Integral and Differential (PID) controller are high. But the control effect of the conventional PID controller on the temperature control system is not perfect. So the Fuzzy-PID control algorithm is simulated with software for the temperature control system of the blackbody radiation source in this paper. Compared with the conventional PID control algorithm, the Fuzzy-PID control has advantages of quicker response, smaller overshoot and more stable performance. It is of a certain reference value to improve the temperature control performances in the actual industrial production applications.

In this paper,a typical cylindrical hole with contoured craters is investigated in terms of the downstream flow field by numerical method at blowing ratios of 0.5,1 and *** flow field and the cooling effectiveness are analyzed using threedimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with the shear stress transport turbulence *** comparison to the cylindrical hole,the cratered hole shows a wider coolant coverage in lateral direction and a lower penetration into the mainstream flow due to the larger hole exit ***,the interaction between the coolant and the curved protrusion induces a new anti-kidney-shaped vortex pair,which can obviously improve the cooling coverage and thus the cooling *** areaaveraged cooling effectiveness for the cratered hole is always higher than that for the cylindrical hole at all three blowing ratios.

The coupling effects of low grade heat source on thermodynamic performances of both the basic and regenerative sub-critical Organic Rankine cycle(ORC) systems are investigated and *** inlet pressure and turbine inlet temperature are treated as independent *** system exergy efficiency is selected as the thermodynamic performance *** low grade heat source are waste hot water with temperature range of 373.15 K to 423.15 *** studies are carried out using eight common organic working fluids to recover heat energy,and relevant operating conditions are obtained *** results indicate that both hot fluid inlet temperature and the allowable minimum hot fluid outlet temperature influence the optimal working fluid,relevant turbine inlet condition and system exergy *** system exergy efficiency increases monotonously with increasing of hot fluid temperature for both ORC *** comparison to the basic cycle configuration,optimal system exergy efficiency for the regenerative system using the same working fluid is not changed if relevant turbine inlet vapor is saturated,but is significantly improved if relevant turbine inlet vapor is ***,the optimal working fluid is dependent on the heat source temperature and specific cycle configuration.

Bifurcation and stability analysis for a fractional-order gene regulatory networks with time delay is researched. Firstly, taking time delay as the bifurcation parameter, the Hopf bifurcation and stability conditions are established. Finally, a numerical example verifies the theoretical conclusion. It is showed that time delay can heavily effect the dynamics of the system and each order has a major influence on the creation of bifurcation simultaneously. © ISCIIA and ITCA 2018 - 8th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Industrial Applications and 12th China-Japan International Workshop on Information Technology and control Application.

Optimization of the Circuit Parameter in Class-E Power Amplifier in the Two-coil Wireless Power Transfer system

In this paper, the circuit parameters of the Class-E power amplifier are investigated and optimized to achieve the maximum of output power and efficiency in a two-coil Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) system. The circuit is simulated with software named Saber. Working frequency, the value of capacitors and inductor, which has relationship with the output power and efficiency, are investigated during the simulation. With the simulation results, it is found that the frequency and the shunt capacitor need to be optimized for high performance of the wireless power transfer system.

The annealing furnace is an important equipment for annealing in the production process of cold rolled strip steel. The temperature accuracy of the steel coil is directly affected the production quality of the steel plate. In the annealing furnace temperature control system, strip temperature control is mainly decided by various furnace annealing furnace gas flow in the area, so setting up a precise model between gas flow and temperature has become an important problem of the control system of annealing furnace. In this paper, SVM is applied to the prediction model of the gas flow in the annealing furnace since it’s suitable for nonlinear and high dimensional problems as a machine learning method. In view of that the choice of C, G and the model parameters of the SVM directly affect the prediction precision of the model, this paper uses GA to optimize these two parameters. Finally, we use the data of field production as training and testing samples to establish and verify the model. The experimental results showed that the established model well achieved the requirements of the accuracy of the target.

Carbon cluster ion implantation is an important technique in fabricating functional devices at mi- cro/nanoscale. In this work, a numerical model is constructed for implantation and implemented with a cutting- edge molecular dynamics method. A series of simulations with varying incident energies and incident angles is performed for incidence on silicon substrate and correlated effects are compared in detail. Meanwhile, the behav- ior of the cluster during implantation is also examined under elevated temperatures. By mapping the nanoscopic morphology with variable parameters, numerical formalism is proposed to explain the different impacts on phrase transition and surface pattern formation. Particularly, implantation efficiency （IE） is computed and further used to evaluate the performance of the overall process. The calculated results could be properly adopted as the theoretical basis for designing nano-structures and adjusting devices＇ properties.

A Brillouin optical time domain reflector(BOTDR)is commonly used for strain measurement in geological health *** a conventional BOTDR,an electro-optic modulator(EOM)is generally utilized to produce the pulse probe ***,the frequent fluctuation of the EOM optimal working point will deteriorate the extinction ratio(ER)and eventually result in the instability of BOTDR measurement ***,a scheme for stably generating the pulse probe light is proposed based on a semiconductor optical amplifier(SOA).Firstly,a SOA is used to produce the probe pulse light launched into the sensing fiber,and coherent detection is designed to obtain the beat signal of the Brillouin scattering and the reference *** the microwave frequency-sweeping method and the Levenberg-Marquardt(LM)algorithm are applied to determine the Brillouin frequency shift distribution along the sensing ***,a customed compact software core of LM fitting is developed with basic C code to speed the data *** experiment results show that the BFS measurement accuracy of ±3.74MHz is achieved over a 10.7-kilometer sensing fiber with the spatial resolution of 1.2m,meanwhile the average data processing time is reduced to about 233ms,about 45 times compared to that when using the LabVIEW,which indicates the stable and fast BFS measurement is realized.
