Considering the diversity of topological structures of parallel mechanisms (PMs), this paper presents an approach for the automated generation of topological structure models based on CAD technology. In this method, joints and links are treated as fundamental elements in the skeleton model of a mechanical system, leading to the development of a library of fundamental components readily available to compose a variety of limbs and PMs. A connection graph and its data structure are then developed for describing, in a hierarchical manner, the assembly information among the fundamental components. Equipped with the knowledge and information mentioned above, the limbs and PMs can finally be assembled automatically by identifying and imposing the geometrical constraints that have been already embedded in the models. The merit of this method lies in that 3D schematic diagrams (termed topological structure models) of various limbs and PMs can be created in an illustrative manner by properly selecting a set of fundamental components and then setting their connections, leading to the digitalized and visible topological structure models that are readily for kinematic performance evaluation. Combined with the CAD-CAE integration technology for the mechanical structure design and static/dynamic performance evaluation, a digital design and simulation framework can be formulated for the rapid design of parallel robotic equipment. © 2023 IEEE.

With the continuous development of renewable energy power generation technologies such as wind and solar and the increasing popularity of renewable energy, the volatility and uncertainty in the system have significantly increased and are doubly superimposed. Therefore, requirements are not only imposed on the quantity of reserve but also on the response speed. Firstly, based on the traditional unit commitment model, this paper jointly considers the capacity reserve and ramping reserve of the power system and constructs a unit commitment model that takes into account the supply and demand constraints of both types of reserves simultaneously. Then, on the basis of this model, a reserve optimization model considering the reserve energy delivery process is proposed. Finally, a reliability cost model is established. Based on the cost-benefit/trade-off optimization concept, the optimal reserve capacity is determined through the trade-off between the reliability cost and the reserve cost. The model is transformed into a mixed-integer linear programming model that can be directly called by the commercial solver CPLEX, and the effectiveness of the model is verified by a modified IEEE 33-node distribution network.

Focusing on the polishing operation of automobile hubs, this paper proposed a polishing robot by combining a 1T2R parallel mechanism (PM) and an X-Y worktable. The dimensional synthesis and static/dynamic performance analysis of the 1T2R PM are also presented with the key points as follows. Firstly, the inverse displacement model and velocity model of the PM are built to formulate the motion/force transmissibility indices on the basis of the generalized Jacobian matrix. Secondly, the dimensional synthesis problem is formulated to determine the optimized normalized dimensional parameters by maximizing the global force/motion transmissibility of the PM subject to geometric constraints without mechanical interference. Finally, the finite element (FE) model of the 1T2R PM is built with the aid of the SAMCEF, and the static stiffness and lower-order natural frequencies of the PM are evaluated. The research results of this paper provide dimensions and mechanical structures for developing the physical prototype of the automobile hub polishing robot. © 2023 IEEE.

Abstract: Today, the traditional control algorithm of the manipulator is difficult to meet in the complex and changing working environment, and the development of artificial intelligence has achieved remarkable results in the field of manipulator control. As a branch of artificial intelligence, deep reinforcement learning combines the perception ability of deep learning with the decision-making ability of reinforcement learning, which can greatly improve the work efficiency and adaptability of the manipulator. This paper expounds on the principle of deep reinforcement learning, compares and analyzes the application examples of the single manipulator and multi-manipulator control algorithms based on deep reinforcement learning, and demonstrates the achievements of deep reinforcement learning in the motion control of manipulators. The intelligent control research provides a reference. © 2023 ACM.

The decoding success rate may be worse when classical degree distributions are used in short-packet transmission of rateless codes, especially in industrial communication scenarios. A novel Boltzmann degree distribution is proposed for Luby Transform (LT) codes. The Boltzmann degree distribution has a high decoding success rate for short-packet transmission but a lower decoding success rate in long-packet transmission. To balance the performance of rateless codes for short and long packet transmission, the Boltzmann degree distribution and the robust soliton distribution (RSD) are combined with a new joint degree distribution, called Boltzmann Robust Soliton Distribution (BRSD). Simulation results show that compared with RSD and Poisson robust soliton distribution (PRSD), the proposed joint distribution can achieve a higher decoding success rate and reduce the average degree, especially in short-packet transmission of industrial communication. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent studies, the generalization of neural radiance fields for novel view synthesis task has been widely explored. However, existing methods are limited to objects and indoor scenes. In this work, we extend the generalization task to outdoor scenes, trained only on object-level datasets. This approach presents two challenges. Firstly, the significant distributional shift between training and testing scenes leads to black artifacts in rendering results. Secondly, viewpoint changes in outdoor scenes cause ghosting or missing regions in rendered images. To address these challenges, we propose a geometric correction module and an appearance correction module based on multi-head attention mechanisms. We normalize rendered depth and combine it with light direction as query in the attention mechanism. Our network effectively corrects varying scene structures and geometric features in outdoor scenes, generalizing well from object-level to unseen outdoor scenes. Additionally, we use appearance correction module to correct appearance features, preventing rendering artifacts like blank borders and ghosting due to viewpoint changes. By combining these modules, our approach successfully tackles the challenges of outdoor scene generalization, producing high-quality rendering results. When evaluated on four datasets (Blender, DTU, LLFF, Spaces), our network outperforms previous methods. Notably, compared to MVSNeRF, our network improves average PSNR from 19.369 to 25.989, SSIM from 0.838 to 0.889, and reduces LPIPS from 0.265 to 0.224 on Spaces outdoor scenes. © 2023, CC BY.

To address the issue of frequency stability caused by the integration of renewable energy into the grid, the shared energy storage (SES) is coordinated with multiple wind farms (WFs). The scientific PFR reserve capacity configuration of them is essential to balance reliability and cost. Nevertheless, due to the desynchronization of wind resources between WFs and on-site wind turbines (WTs), there are differences in the reserve capacity and allocated SES capacity of different WFs. The traditional unified capacity configuration method easily increases costs. Therefore, this paper proposes a stochastic optimal configuration method considering wind speed (WS) correlations. Firstly, the high-dimensional vine Copula is used and the effects of wake, terrain, and time-delay are considered to portray the WS correlation of multiple WFs and multiple WTs, respectively. Subsequently, the PFR reserve capacity optimal strategy is established to minimize the total cost of the WFs and the SES. In particular, the p-efficient point algorithm based on the Copula function is utilized to solve the chance constraint. The simulation results show that the proposed method reasonably configures each WT's deloading capacity and the SES capacity with consideration of WS correlations and uncertainties, meeting the PFR demand and reducing the reserve cost. © The Institution of Engineering & Technology 2024.

In this paper,component parameters of the boost converter are identified online using a multiple updating recursive least squares(MURLS) *** component parameters,such as resistance,inductor inductance and capacitor capacitance,are obtained directly through the identification procedure rather than transfer function *** MURLS algorithm is applied to improve the rapidity of system identification compared to the traditional recursive least squares(RLS) algorithm,which is verified by a comparative simulation between MURLS and RLS and the simulation of a load-switching scenario.

As a key infrastructure for China's "West-to-East Power Transmission" project, transmission lines (TL) face the threat of ice accretion under complex microclimatic conditions. This study proposes a plane principal strain sensing method based on a fiber Bragg grating circular array, achieving synchronous monitoring of 6 strains (ranging from -2000 to 2000 μΕ) across the TL cross-section. Through finite element simulation experiments, a mapping relationship between the bending of TL and the plane principal strain has been established. After completing the sensor calibration, an experimental platform for the freeze-thaw process of ice accretion on the TL was built. The relationships between ice mass and bending strain, as well as the ice shape on the TL cross-section (C-shaped and circular ice) and plane principal strain, were studied. Furthermore, a BP neural network model was developed to determine the 4 states of the icing process (no ice/freeze/stable/thaw), achieving an accuracy of 91.23%. This study provides effective monitoring of the freeze-thaw process of ice accretion on the TL, offering important technical support for the prevention and control of ice accretion in power grid. Line Commutated Converter based-high voltage direct current (LCC-HVDC) systems are an important support for large-scale renewable energy transmission. Compared with two-terminal LCC-HVDC, multi-terminal LCC-HVDC systems are flexible in control and reliable in power supply. However, the integration of multi-terminal LCC-HVDC brings great complexity to the operation modes and power flow of power systems. Therefore, it is very important to resolve the power flow calculation problems of AC/DC hybrid systems containing multi-terminal LCC-HVDC. This paper proposed a sequential power flow calculation algorithm for multi-terminal LCC-HVDC. Firstly, a steady-state model of multi-terminal LCC-HVDC was proposed considering control modes. Secondly, based on the steady-state model, a power flow calculation algorithm for AC/DC hybrid power systems containing multi-terminal LCC-HVDC is designed with sequential iteration methods. Finally, two cases with two-terminal and three terminal LCC-HVDC are tested to verify the accuracy of the proposed model and algorithm.
