In the field of drug discovery and development, deep learning techniques have become a powerful tool to accelerate the discovery and development of new drugs. In the design and optimization of lead molecules, generative adversarial network and graph neural network are one of the prime techniques for accelerating research and development, because the former is based on the idea of two-player game to learn drug features to generate effective molecules, while the unstructured inputs of the latter are well-suited for the analysis of molecular data. Therefore, this study develops a new graph generative adversarial model, called PreZ-DGGAN, by inserting the graph neural network layer into the generative adversarial network. Within PreZ-DGGAN, the latent variable input of the generator is pre-learned by an improved graph variational autoencoder, which effectively avoids the mode collapse of the generative adversarial network, whereas the hidden layer of the discriminator is graph neural network layer, which is able to better learn the real molecules and judge the generated molecules as true or false. Experiments on two molecule datasets show that the molecules generated by PreZ-DGGAN have higher validity (100% on average) and uniqueness (91.5% on average), and the generated molecules are more diverse in structure. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) is envisioned as a key pillar for enabling the upcoming sixth generation (6G) communication systems, requiring not only reliable communication functionalities but also highly accurate environmental sensing capabilities. In this paper, we design a novel networked ISAC framework to explore the collaboration among multiple users for environmental sensing. Specifically, multiple users can serve as powerful sensors, capturing back scattered signals from a target at various angles to facilitate reliable computational imaging. Centralized sensing approaches are extremely sensitive to the capability of the leader node because it requires the leader node to process the signals sent by all the users. To this end, we propose a two-step distributed cooperative sensing algorithm that allows low-dimensional intermediate estimate exchange among neighboring users, thus eliminating the reliance on the centralized leader node and improving the robustness of sensing. This way, multiple users can cooperatively sense a target by exploiting the block-wise environment sparsity and the interference cancellation technique. Furthermore, we analyze the mean square error of the proposed distributed algorithm as a networked sensing performance metric and propose a beamforming design for the proposed network ISAC scheme to maximize the networked sensing accuracy and communication performance subject to a transmit power constraint. Privacy leakage and Byzantine failures are two adverse factors to the intelligent decision-making process of multiagent systems (MASs). Considering an unsafe MAS with these two issues, this paper targets the resolution of a class of nonconvex optimization problems under the Polyak-Lojasiewicz (P-L) condition. To address this problem, we first identify and construct the unsafe MAS model. Under this kind of unfavorable MASs, we mask the local gradients with Gaussian noises and adopt a resilient aggregation method self-centered clipping (SCC) to design a differentially private (DP) decentralized Byzantine-resilient algorithm, namely DP-SCC-PL, which simultaneously achieves differential privacy and Byzantine resilience. The convergence analysis of DP-SCC-PL is challenging since the convergence error can be contributed jointly by privacy-preserving and Byzantine-resilient mechanisms, as well as the nonconvex relaxation, which is addressed via seeking the contraction relationships among the disagreement measure of reliable agents before and after SCC aggregation, together with the optimal gap. Theoretical results reveal that DP-SCC-PL achieves consensus among all reliable agents and sublinear (inexact) convergence with well-designed step-sizes. It has also been proved that if there are no privacy issues and Byzantine agents, then the asymptotic exact convergence can be recovered. Numerical experiments verify the utility, resilience, and differential privacy of DP-SCC-PL by tackling a nonconvex optimization problem satisfying the P-L condition under various Byzantine attacks. In order to improve the accuracy of hand pose estimation from a depth image, a method based on convolutional neural network (CNN) is proposed in this paper. First of all, we modify the structure of traditional CNN to recognize the 3D joint locations from a depth image. By appending some shortcuts between layers, the proposed network increases the correlation between the front and back layers. This structure can avoid the information loss caused by the simple layer-by-layer transmission, and can improve the estimation accuracy effectively. Afterwards, the estimated joint locations continue to be inputted into a support vector regression (SVR) phase. The use of SVR can introduce the constraint of local joint information, which can get rid of those abnormal estimations further. Extensive experiments show that our method enables significant performance improvement over the-state-of-arts in the accuracy of hand pose estimation. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

In current granular clustering algorithms, numeric representatives were selected by users or an ordinary strategy, which seemed simple; meanwhile, weight settings for granular data could not adequately express their structural characteristics. Aiming at these problems, in this study, a new scheme called a granular weighted kernel fuzzy clustering (GWKFC) algorithm is put forward. We propose the representative selection and granularity generation (RSGG) algorithm enlightened by the density peak clustering (DPC) algorithm. We build interval and triangular granular data on the strength of numeric representatives obtained by RSGG under the principle of justifiable granularity (PJG), in which we establish some combinations of functions and boundary constraints and prove their properties. Furthermore, we present a novel distance formula via the kernel function for granular data and design new weights to affect the coverage and specificity of granular data. In addition, based upon these factors, we come up with the GWKFC algorithm of granular clustering, and its performance with different granularity is assessed. To sum up, a macro framework involving granular modeling, granular clustering, and assessment has been set up. Lastly, the GWKFC algorithm and ten other granular clustering algorithms are compared by experiments on some artificial and UCI datasets together with datasets with large data or those of high dimensionality. It is found that the GWKFC algorithm can provide better granular clustering results by contrast with other algorithms. The originality is embodied as follows. First, we improve the previous density radius and present the RSGG algorithm to acquire numeric representatives. Second, we propose a new strategy to determine granular data boundaries and further obtain novel weights enlightened by the idea of volume. The Agile Earth Observation Satellite scheduling selects and sequences satellite observations of possible targets on the Earth's surface, each with a specific profit and multiple time windows. The objective is to maximize the collected profit of all observations completed under some operational constraints. The problem can be modeled as a variant of the Team Orienteering Problem with Time Windows (TOPTW). The key differences with the regular TOPTW are twofold: first, a time-dependent transition time is required for each pair of consecutive observations to adjust the camera's look angles. Second, the time windows of each target vary during different observation cycles, called "orbits". Some targets are invisible during certain orbits. We call this variant the Time-dependent Team Orienteering Problem with Variable Time Windows. In this paper, we present an efficient branch-and-cut-and-price (BCP) algorithm that exploits the problem's characteristics to solve it to optimality. Some algorithmic enhancements have been implemented, such as a Lagrangian bound, an ng-path relaxation, a primal heuristic, and subset-row inequalities. Extensive experiments on different configurations of benchmark instances demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed BCP algorithm and its algorithmic enhancements. Moreover, the primal heuristic yields a high-quality lower bound and outperforms state-of-the-art heuristics. Finally, we adopt our framework to solve the well-known TOPTW, and our algorithm is much faster than state-of-the-art exact algorithms. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

Electromagnetic tomography (EMT) is a process tomography based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. It has the advantages of non-intrusive, non-contact and low harm. In the process of image reconstruction, the sensitivity matrix reflects the influence of tiny disturbance on the measured value, which is an important index of image quality. Base on the traditional "O"sensor array structure in this article, Comsol Multiphysics finite element simulation software is used to divide the measured field into several tiny elements. A simulated perturbation method is used to investigate the effect of the number of EMT sensors' midline coils on sensitivity. The sensitivity matrix of sensor arrays with 4 coils ,8 coils ,12 coils ,16 coils and 20 coils is compared by using the method of separation variables. The sensitivity matrix of different coils is imaged by Matlab software. Through comparative analysis, it is concluded that the sensitivity band shape of the coil in the same position is same in different models. All of them are distributed along the arc type between the excitation and detection coils, which presents the middle strong and gradually weakens to the outside. With the increase of the number of coils, the sensitivity band is widened, but the sensitivity value of the central part is slightly weakened. Accurate segmentation of pulmonary blood vessels from CT images is of great significance for lung disease detection and segmentation of other lung structures. Manual segmentation is difficult to accurately segment vascular tissue for various reasons. Therefore, in view of the existing problems and shortcomings of the existing lung vessel segmentation method, a more efficient lung vessel segmentation algorithm is proposed, that is, the multi-template fast marching method (MSFM algorithm). Firstly, it used the hole filling and maximum inter-class variance algorithm for preprocess. In the process, the lung parenchyma is extracted from the chest CT, and then the lung blood vessels are extracted in the lung parenchymal area using the MSFM algorithm. In the extraction process, the threshold and gradient are used to limit the progress of the process and the lung blood vessels are more accurately segmented. Through experimental verification, the accuracy of lung blood vessel segmentation based on MSFM algorithm is improved.

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a prevalent neurodegenerative disorder globally. The eye’s retina is an extension of the brain and has great potential in PD screening. Recent studies have suggested that texture features extracted from retinal layers can be adopted as biomarkers for PD diagnosis under optical coherence tomography (OCT) images. Frequency domain learning techniques can enhance the feature representations of deep neural networks (DNNs) by decomposing frequency components involving rich texture features. Additionally, previous works have not exploited texture features for automated PD screening in OCT. Motivated by the above analysis, we propose a novel Adaptive Wavelet Filter (AWF) that serves as the Practical Texture Feature Amplifier to fully leverage the merits of texture features to boost the PD screening performance of DNNs with the aid of frequency domain learning. Specifically, AWF first enhances texture feature representation diversities via channel mixer, then emphasizes informative texture feature representations with the well-designed adaptive wavelet filtering token mixer. By combining the AWFs with the DNN stem, AWFNet is constructed for automated PD screening. Additionally, we introduce a novel Balanced Confidence (BC) Loss by mining the potential of sample-wise predicted probabilities of all classes and class frequency prior, to further boost the PD screening performance and trustworthiness of AWFNet. The extensive experiments manifest the superiority of our AWFNet and BC over state-of-the-art methods in terms of PD screening performance and trustworthiness. © 2025, CC BY-NC-SA.
