A simple matrix description method is proposed, which define the formation relationship between the UAV swarm leaders and wingmen, and establishes formation database matrix sets of different formations. On the basis of this formation database, a space formation change method is proposed. It adopts the method of staggering the height layers, even if all the UAVs in the swarm are distributed at different height layers during the formation change, and then the formation change in the horizontal is carried out. There is no risk of collision when the formation is changed, and the precise change of the formation is completed, which improved the safety of the formation change. The collaborative flight of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarm has always been a hot issue in control science. This paper designs a scalable componentized software architecture for the actual scenario of fixed-wing UAV swarm collaborative flight. Base on the hierarchical structure of the UAV swarm system, we analyze the software requirements of functions and performance, and propose an onboard software architecture, which consist of real-time operating system (RTOS), board support package (BSP) and application layer software. In addition, the flight control and swarm communication of UAV swarms are described in this paper. The electro-hydraulic load simulator which can simulate the load executed on the aircraft actuator in the process of flight is an important ground test equipment. The uncertainties of the system including the disturbances caused by the motion of actuator make it challenging to achieve high performance. This study develops an adaptive iterative learning controller for the torque control of electro-hydraulic load simulator utilizing the backstepping method. On the basis of adaptive backstepping control, this controller incorporates iterative learning law to learn unknown nonlinear functions. By utilizing the repetitive characteristic of the test equipment, the iterative learning law sacrifices learning time to achieve enhanced control performance. To handle unknown disturbances, filter error, and learning error, a robust term described by dynamic equations is constructed. The calculation of the derivative of the virtual control law is simplified with a first-order command filter. Simulations with three different controllers are obtained to illustrate the learning ability of the proposed controller. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

Uncertainty-aware Deep Reinforcement Learning for Trainable Equivalent Consumption Minimization Strategy of Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Tracked Vehicle

Energy management strategies (EMSs) are pivotal in optimizing energy efficiency for vehicles equipped with hybrid electric powertrains. Despite the growing adoption of deep reinforcement learning (DRL)-based approaches, challenges persist in achieving satisfactory optimization performance and maintaining reliable control. Motivated by this, this paper introduces a novel trainable equivalent consumption minimization strategy (ECMS) framework for fuel cell hybrid electric tracked vehicles (FCHETVs) with uncertainty-aware control. Firstly, the proposed framework employs a DRL algorithm to dynamically determine and optimize the equivalent factor in the ECMS method, facilitating improved fuel economy. Then, the soft actor-critic (SAC) algorithm is formulated for efficient policy learning. To further enhance control reliability, an ensembled policy network method is incorporated to measure uncertainty and mitigate suboptimal actions, thereby improving decision-making robustness. Simulation results reveal that the SAC-based trainable ECMS achieves significant fuel economy improvements, outperforming the traditional SAC and adaptive ECMS methods by 2.93% and 5.15% respectively. Moreover, the ensemble model ensures reliable and effective control, with online testing results indicating an additional 2.08% improvement in fuel economy. These findings underscore the effectiveness of integrating learning-based and optimization-based approaches in EMS design, offering a robust pathway to reducing energy consumption and promoting sustainable transportation solutions. © 2015 IEEE.

In a heterogeneous network, a reliable importance ranking of nodes can provide a useful reference for decision-making. Nevertheless, existing node importance ranking methods may not effectively integrate the characteristics of the edges and nodes in the graph, as well as the structural information. In this paper, a novel graph neural network-based heterogeneous network node importance ranking (GNN-HNNIR) method is proposed to rank the importance of different functional nodes in a heterogeneous network. GNN-HNNIR can adjust the node importance score based on those of neighboring nodes, which employ a multi-head attention mechanism to aggregate scores by pooling information from edges, nodes, and the graph structure. Finally, numerical experiments show that GNN-HNNIR can effectively evaluate the importance scores of different nodes with given small amount of data for training. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

This paper aims to analyze and design a novel variable impedance permanent magnet (PM) machine with separated fault tolerant ring for high reliability applications. The proposed topology automatically changes from low impedance to ultra-high impedance under turn-to-turn short-circuit without complex fault diagnosis and control strategies. First, the topology of the variable impedance PM machine is introduced. Then, the magnetic field distribution of the separate fault tolerant ring under health and fault is analyzed to qualitatively reveal the fault tolerance principle. Finally, a turn-to-turn short-circuit model considering the core saturation effect is developed for investigating the mechanism of fault tolerance performance improvement. It is found that the short-circuit current and torque ripple after the fault of the variable impedance machines are significantly lower than those of the conventional ones. © 2023 IEEE.

Based on the existing resources of general command information system, the virtually immersive display system is constructed. In this paper, the application design of virtual and augmented reality display system was discussed. The main contents included the overall system design, business requirements, application design of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) table display system, expected results, and equipment selection. The deployment and application of VR and AR display system were introduced. Therefore, the hardware selection of VR and AR were HTC Vive and XLOOG X200 products, respectively. The Unreal Engine 4 was selected as the software development platform. This solution meets the current immersive display requirements. The system integrates VR and AR display application capabilities and can fully serve the command and control requirements in the future virtual field. © 2023 IEEE.

In the field of flight control systems, actuators play a crucial role, and dynamic stiffness stands as one of the pivotal metrics to gauge their performance, reflecting the actuators' resilience to external disturbances. Hence, investigating dynamic stiffness is paramount for enhancing the overall performance of flight control systems. This study focuses on a hydraulic dual-parallel actuator system, wherein a mathematical model is established to derive the expression for dynamic stiffness. Leveraging the Amesim software, a simulation model of the parallel actuator system is constructed to conduct an in-depth analysis of its dynamic stiffness characteristics. During simulation, sinusoidal loading forces of varying frequencies are applied at the output end of the actuator system, and displacement response data is collected. Subsequently, the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is employed to obtain dynamic stiffness, enabling an analysis of its variations. The relationship between the system's natural frequency and dynamic stiffness is explored, along with an investigation into the primary factors influencing dynamic stiffness. Simulation results indicate that enhancing both support and connection stiffness,reducing load mass and enlarging the piston area can enhance the system's dynamic stiffness, thereby meeting the performance requirements of flight control systems. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

Class Activation Map (CAM) is a common tool to address image-level weakly supervised image segmentation (WSIS) tasks, which mainly extract the most discriminative regions as pseudo-labels for the segmentation networks. However, it is difficult to accurately locate the salient regions since similar image intensities and low-contrast in the medical image field. In our work, we put in a novel WSIS model to exploit visual detail features to enhance the semantic expression ability of the object target. The model consists of two branches: the classification branch and the segmented branch. The classification branch includes two subbranches: local classification and global classification. Differing from existing local-global models, we employ expansion convolution to increase the receptive field for the global classification branch, while designing an affinity-aware module in the local network to obtain the original context information of the local image. The global and local classification branches work together to provide pseudo-labels for the segmentation branch. The experimental results show that our model outperforms other state-of-the-art methods with a DSC of 46.7% on the publicly available MSD dataset. © 2023 IEEE.
