The fuel tank inert air preparation system (APS) for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is a relatively novel field. APS is essentially an air refrigeration cycle. APS can cool engine bleed air to a suitable temperature before being used by the on board inert gas generation system (OBIGGS). According to the characteristics of UAVs, an inert APS for fuel tank without ram air and pre-cooling system is proposed in this paper. The matching calculation process of APS is introduced in detail in this paper. Based on AMESim software, the performance simulation model of APS is built. The simulation results show that the APS can meet the performance demand of cooling air under the full flight envelope. The research results of this paper have certain guiding significance for the design work of the tank inert APS applicable to UAVs. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

Directed Energy Weapon (DEW) is regarded as the "game changer" of the next generation fighter, although the performance and effect are yet to be further and thoroughly assessed. This paper designs and implements an integrated airborne information-energy integrated system for DEW-involved air combat simulation. The functional requirements of the simulation system are analyzed based on the OODA loop model. The architecture and data interaction relationships are then designed following a hierarchical modular approach, utilizing DDS technology to establish a data communication interface. Critical systems such as radar, actuator, DEW thermal management, etc., are modeled, and the simulation system is implemented in Python. Experimental results indicate that the simulation system can support assessing and validating tactical decisions for DEW air combat. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

This paper investigates the parameter design constraints on the classic UDE-based control framework imposed by the presence of actuator *** theoretical stability analysis of the closed-loop system,it is revealed that the UDE-based control is subject to a limited selection range of the filter parameter T_f when designed without considering the actuator ***,an explicit inequality is derived for T_f with respect to the feedback gains and actuator parameter,implying that a lower bound may exist on the value of T_*** practice,the filter parameter determines the bandwidth of UDE and plays an important role in the disturbance rejection ***,this paper provides a systematic parameter tuning guideline for the feedback gains and T_f to maximize the robustness of the system while maintaining *** numerical simulation results are demonstrated to verify the theoretical findings.

To solve the problem of the lack of a scientific indicator system in the current RMST research of complex aeronautical equipment, we focused on the construction principle of science and followed the six principles, including objective, complete, workable, independent, significant, and dynamic. We have adopted subjective methods to collect the RMST of indicators in all aspects. Then the redundant indicators with large correlation coefficients were eliminated sequentially using correlation analysis, and the indicators that did not have a significant impact on the evaluation results were eliminated using fuzzy rough set theory. In order to avoid the redundancy of indicators while ensuring the retention of significant indicators, a scientific and concise RMST indicator system was finally constructed, which filled the gap of the current RMST indicator system for aeronautical complex equipment. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper investigates the asymmetric clustered divergence control problem of multi-agent systems in signed *** with the existing works of bipartite consensus tracking in literature,in this paper,a virtual handle agent is added to the topology among agents to achieve the asymmetric divergence of followers in both sign and ***,the leader's dynamics is modeled as an unknown function and neural networks are adopted to approximate its high-order states;while the information of the handle agent is generated by an external reference system,and a distributed observer is presented to estimate *** to the system stability conditions of the Lyapunov theorem,the adaptive update laws of parameters are *** on neural network appropriator and distributed observer,the feedforward component is constructed to add in the distributed controller to achieve the adaptive asymmetric clustered divergence of ***,some simulation results are given to verify the effectiveness of the theoretical method.

Privacy issues, communication constraints and convergence performance are key factors for expanding applications of multi-agent systems, but considering the above three factors simultaneously has not been well addressed. In order to extend the practical application scenarios and fill such gaps, the paper proposes an improved prescribed-time privacy-preserving consensus method based on event-triggered mechanism. Unlike the traditional privacy protection scheme, proposed method adopts a decentralized (executed separately by every agent), time-varying transformation to encrypt the information. Agents encode their true states in virtue of independent key before transmitting them, which makes the agents' internal states indecipherable from others. On this basis, the prescribed-time theory is introduced to achieve convergence at any specified time within the range allowed by the actuator performance. In addition, event-triggered mechanism can effectively relieve the actuator pressure caused by frequent updates and reduce computational resource consumption. Finally, the validity of theoretical results is verified by numerical simulation experiments. © 2024 IEEE.

Acoustic lens is widely used in ultrasound imaging to manipulate the focusing of sound beams. In this paper, a three-dimensional gradient-index multifunctional lens based on circuit control is proposed. Different from the previous acoustic lens based on phonon crystal or crimp-space design, the lens is easy to manufacture and only depends on the refractive index tunable material to fill the lens structure. Based on multiple variable refractive index of this article Einstein ring RineHart curved shell structure, building material and refractive index of the mapping relation of shell structure, electrically induced regulation method of refractive index is put forward, make the surface acoustic wave propagation in a three-dimensional curved surface lens effect and its propagation in 2 d plane lens effect, instead of being placed in the surface concave and convex lens interference of objects. Several strange acoustic phenomena, such as invisibility cloak, Luneburg lens and Fisheye Lens, have been realized by simulation. By adjusting the gradient distribution of refractive index of the lens electrically, acoustic devices with different functional waveforms can be switched. The research results provide theoretical guidance for the design of a new type of multifunctional lens. © 2025 SPIE.

In this paper, a monitoring method based on machine vision is proposed to solve the problems of aircraft fuel measurement and abnormal condition detection in fuel tank. The visual sensor is used to capture and collect the image in the fuel tank, then the solver will identify the current fuel level and fit the fuel surface equation based on the three-dimensional coordinates of points on the fuel level, then calculate the remaining fuel volume. In addition, this method can extract and identify the characteristic of foreign objects and pipeline breakage from the image to determine whether there is an abnormality in the fuel tank. Experiments were designed and validated, and the results of the experiments verified the effectiveness of the method. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

Synchronization in a neuronal network with delayed hybrid synapses

Synchronization is a fundamental phenomenon in various fields, particularly in neuronal networks, where it underpins critical biological processes. In this paper, we present a novel investigation into synchronization dynamics in a network of memristive Rulkov neuron models with hybrid synapses, incorporating both short-range electrical and long-range chemical interactions. To enhance biological realism, we introduce delays in chemical synaptic transmission, considering both fixed and random delay scenarios. Our work systematically examines the impact of distinct coupling topologies by exploring four cases: (i) both electrical and chemical synapses are globally coupled, (ii) both follow a small-world structure, (iii) electrical synapses are globally coupled while chemical synapses exhibit small-world connectivity, and (iv) the reverse configuration. By quantifying synchronization error, a robust numerical index of synchrony, we reveal that the structure of chemical synapses plays a pivotal role in determining the level of coherence and the ability to achieve synchronization, while the electrical coupling topology significantly influences sensitivity to delays. Notably, our results demonstrate that globally coupled chemical synapses promote stronger synchronization, but the extent of coherence depends on the electrical network structure and delay values. These findings provide new insights into the intricate interplay between synaptic mechanisms, network topology, and delays in shaping neuronal synchronization, offering valuable guidance for designing and analyzing biologically realistic neuronal networks.

Aiming at the problem of sensor layout in an emergency flotation system, a sensor layout scheme design method based on the NSGAII method is proposed. The ALE method is used to simulate the water landing process of the helicopter on different pitch angles. The logic relationship of the 4/5 voting system is used to improve the sensor module reliability. Further, a mathematical model of layout scheme is established to maximize the detection coverage and minimize the force acting on the water immersion sensors when helicopter emergent water landing as the objective functions. Based on the mathematical model of water immersion sensor layout optimization constructed in this paper, NSGAII is used to solve this problem. The results show that the proposed method can realize the optimization of the layout of the water immersion sensor, the detection coverage of optimized schemes is increased by 3.26% on average compared with the value under the original scheme, and the force acting on the water immersion sensors is reduced by 61.86%. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
