The active participation of demand side resources in power grid operation not only benefits the individual participant but also benefits the whole system. The optimal goal can promote by excavating the active behaviors of demand side. The welfare maximization of market participant is the driving force of such active behaviors. Considering the independence of each user's behavior, the consumer's utility function is selected to depict consumer's preference and demand response behavior. In order to coordinate the consumers' maximum welfare with social welfare maximization, consumers' utility function and units' operation cost are integrated into Unit Commitment (UC) model. The objective function is to maximize social welfare, by subtracting units' operation cost from consumers' total utility, and this objective can be acquired. Considering the proposed model should be solved in a distributed manner, the idea of the centralized coordination and the decentralized decision-making is proposed. Based on the Lagrangian relaxation (LR) principle and distributed real-time pricing scheme, a closed-loop feedback mechanism is constructed to reflect the relationship among generator output, price level, and load demand. The ten generating units example can illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

During the evolution of the surgical robot, cable plays an important role. It translates motion and force precisely from surgeon's hand to the tool's tips. In the paper, the vertical wires, the composition of cable, are mathematically modeled from a geometric point of view. The cable structure and tension are analyzed according to the characteristics of wire screw twist. The structural equations of the wires in different positions are derived for both non-bent cable and bent cable, respectively. The bending moment formula of bent cable is also obtained. This will help researchers find suitable cable and design more matched pulley.

Disrupting the circadian rhythms will cause health problems such as sleep disorders, memory disorders and obesity. Finding the suitable external stimulation to synchronize a model with a desired phase is a biologically significant issue. The phase control of circadian rhythms for Drosophila is considered from control engineering viewpoint in this paper. If all parameters of the model are known, we can use the feedback linearization to design a tracking controller for the phase ***, in practice, parameters uncertainties always exist. In this paper, a new kind of liquid-circular angular accelerometer is studied. Based on electrokinetic phenomenon, this angular accelerometer is designed with a porous transducer and fluid mass. Due to the existence of electrical double layer between transducer and fluid mass, this angular accelerometer is able to convert angular acceleration input to electrical signal. The whole system is composed of fluidic system and molecular electronic system. Theoretical analysis and several experiments are implemented to obtain transfer function model of fluidic system. The flow in transducer satisfies the Darcy Law in the experiment and angular velocity input is proved to have no effect on the output. A prototype is designed to compare the output of theoretical model and experiments. All of the experiments prove that the fluidic system of this liquid-circular angular accelerometer can be seen as a first-order system, especially when the frequency of input is less than 30Hz and its transfer function is derived.

With the battlefield environment becomes more complicated nowadays, it's difficult to achieve high precision target tracking only using single platform of target tracking system. Especially for maneuvering targets, the application of interactive multiple model(IMM) algorithm based on a variety model becomes necessary and feasible. At the same time, the best linear unbiased estimate(BLUE) filter is much more appropriate and useful than Kalman filter when it comes to deal with nonlinear system. Most of the time, we are blind to the correlation degree of our target during the merge process of tracking. We can track our target with multi-platform with introduction of Cross-Correlation(CI) fusion algorithm which is based on distributed data and proves its effectiveness by simulation.

Accurate terrain estimation is essential for unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) to achieve autonomous navigation. However, some existing approaches are difficult to reconstruct the 3D surface in real-time because of serious amount of computation. A method of environmental terrain estimation based on multi-scale radial basis function with a 3D lidar mounted on a moving vehicle was proposed in this paper. By combining kernel template with terrain grid map, the approach is applicable to the non-uniform density distribution of laser point cloud with the increasing detection range and improves the efficiency of calculation. What's more, the estimation of culverts and trees will be more accurate if treat the point cloud in separate layers for suspended obstacles problem. All terrain estimation approaches were verified with good performance in an interactive system, which is set up with Virtual Robot Experimentation Platform (VREP) and actual vehicle.
