Hybrid state estimation has become a significant tool to utilize PMU measurements in modern power dispatch center. Factors affecting estimation accuracy are discussed in this paper, including measurement number, PMU number and measurement uncertainty. And it also explores the extent of impacts with simulation results. PMU current phasors are transformed into pseudo power injections and their uncertainties are calculated by uncertainty propagation theory. PMU numbers and their optimal deployment are determined by integer quadratic programming approach. Monte Carlo simulations are carried out in IEEE 14-bus system in this paper.

This paper describes a novel amphibious robot, which adopts a dual-swing-legs propulsion mechanism, proposing a new locomotion mode. The robot is called FroBot, since its structure and locomotion are similar to frogs. Our inspiration comes from the frog scooter and breaststroke. Based on its swing leg mechanism, an unusual universal wheel structure is used to generate propulsion on land, while a pair of flexible caudal fins functions like the foot flippers of a frog to generate similar propulsion underwater. On the basis of the prototype design and the dynamic model of the robot, some locomotion control simulations and experiments were conducted for the purpose of adjusting the parameters that affect the propulsion of the robot. Finally, a series of underwater experiments were performed to verify the design feasibility of FroBot and the rationality of the control algorithm. © 2015 IEEE.

Stable porphyrin-oxygenated carbon nanomaterial dispersions were prepared by blending porphyrin solutions with hydroxyl groups modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWNTs-OH)and graphene oxide(GO)dispersions,*** nonlinearity and optical limiting(OL)property of these blends are investigated in nanosecond *** show that the OL performance of the blends can be tuned by changing the concentrations ratio of porphyrin and oxygenated carbon *** high concentration of oxygenated carbon nanomaterial leads to the poor OL ***,with the moderate concentration,the blends exhibit the low threshold value of OL and the enhanced OL performance at high fluence *** superior OL performance can be attributed to complementary mechanisms and possible photoinduced electron or energy transfer between porphyrin moiety and oxygenated carbon nanomaterials.

Automatic image registration method is important because data amount acquired and processed is increasingly heavy. For SAR and optical sensor images, it is important to align the same object shown in different images from multi sensors. Considering extracting and matching features in SAR and optical images, a template registration strategy is proposed in this paper. A particular similarity measurement which is robust in matching remote sensing images of general sceneries is hardly to construct. Being the invertible and essential tendency nowadays in the field of earth observation, high pixel-resolution images can offer much more information of the ground. Thus subpixel image registration methods have been researched, among which can successfully achieve 1/50 pixel level accuracy in matching homologous sensor image. This paper firstly investigated the performance of 2D Gaussian fitting for low correlated synthetic images and real satellite images acquired by Radat SAT-2, COSMO and TerraSAR-X satellites. Three algorithms for subpixel locating have been utilized with consideration of the low correlated coefficient peak and corrupted shape of neighbourhood around it. The results show 2D Gaussian fitting is the most efficient on noisy coefficient maps. Then a subpixel image registration method for SAR and optical images is proposed. Normalized gradient correlation (NGC) algorithm is used to solve the problem of different intensity property at first, and by combining 2D Gaussian fitting to relocate matched points at a subpixel level accuracy. Experiment results have shown that the proposed method has enough capabilities in handling differences between images from multi-sensors. The proposed approach has been found to be simple and efficient in implementation with a low computation load. And the most important performance is the results presented here have achieved matching accuracy within 1 pixel.

A designing method for the secondary system in digital substations is proposed, which takes the graphics software of Power Designing Institutes as a platform. The model of primary system and ICD (IED Capability Description) files of secondary devices are used as initial design information. Designers configure secondary devices and connect virtual terminals on the model of primary systems. Then visual virtual secondary circuits, network physical wiring and functional interoperation are generated to describe the configuration and structure of secondary system in digital substations. At the same time, SCD (Substation Configuration Description) files and CID (Configured IED Description) files will be generated automatically. The proposed method provides visual means for secondary system design in digital substations, which is good for standardized and normalized integration work of secondary systems in substations as well as for installation, adjustment, extension, reconstruction and update of devices in digital substations.

Rolling element bearings constitute the key parts on rotating machinery and their fault diagnosis are of great importance. In this paper, a novel Two-Step fault diagnosis framework is proposed to diagnose the status of rolling element bearings with imbalanced data. The Wavelet Packet Transform (WPT) is used to determine the feature vectors. 16-dimensional wavelet packet node energies were extracted from the original datasets as the feature vectors prepared to input to the classifiers. Next, our proposed framework consists of two steps for the fault diagnosis, where Step One makes use of Weighted Extreme Learning Machine (weighted ELM) in an effort to classify the normal or abnormal categories, and Step Two further diagnoses the underlying anomaly in details. The effectiveness of our proposed approach is testified on the raw data collected from the rolling element bearing experiments conducted in our Institute, and the empirical results showed that our approach is really fast and can achieve the diagnosis accuracies more than 95%.

This paper proposes an improved non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA2)-DNSGA2, with the aim of preserving diversity of obtained optimal solution and avoiding the original NSGA2 algorithm falling into local optimal. The proposed DNSGA2 algorithm which introduces a differential mutation operator to replace the original polynomial mutation because the method of differential local search is helpful to the uniformity of Pareto optimal solution set. The performance of the proposed DNSGA2, NSGA2 and W-LRCD-NSGA2 (Based on left-right crowding distance non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm) are compared via four benchmark functions. Simulation results indicate that the diversity and uniformity of Pareto optimal solution obtained by DNSGA2 are better than the other two algorithms. © 2015 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

The modulation properties of dually modulated mutually-coupled nano-lasers have been analyzed using rate equations which include the Purcell cavity-enhanced spontaneous emission factor F and the spontaneous emission coupling factor β. Analysis of the dynamical response of modulated mutually-coupled nano-lasers reveals the existence of regimes of zero cross-talk wherein the response of one nano-laser is not impacted by the dynamics of the other nano-laser. The availability of zero-cross talk regimes is seen to offer opportunities for exploitation in photonic integrated circuits.

Benefited from the high-speed development of Internet and the popularization of big data technology, Real Time Bidding (RTB) emerged and developed quickly, and has become one of the most important and popular model for online computational advertising. In the pay-per-impression based RTB advertising, frequency capping is undoubtedly one of the most crucial issues faced by advertisers and Demand Side Platforms (DSPs), since there are generally vast amount of ad requests in RTB markets, among which many may be triggered by the same target audience. As such, choosing the optimal frequency cap considering all the advertisers becomes a critical issue faced by DSPs. Considering that displaying one advertisement multiple number of times to the same user will diminish the advertising effect, we introduce the concept of discount factor and establish an optimization model of frequency capping to seek for the optimal frequency cap for each advertiser. We also design some experiments to validate our proposed model by utilizing the computational experiment approach, and the experimental results show that the optimal frequency cap can be influenced by the values of the discount factors, and higher value of the discount factor can deduce the advertising effect of larger frequency cap. Moreover, when the discount factors of the advertisers take different values, there also exists an optimal frequency cap, at which the advertisers can get the expected maximum revenue in the long run.
