The weapon target assignment (WTA) problem is a fundamental problem arising in defense-related applications of operations research, and the multi-stage weapon target assignment (MWTA) problem is the basis of dynamic weapon target assignment (DWTA) problems which commonly exist in practice. The MWTA problem considered in this paper is formulated into a multi-objective constrained combinatorial optimization problem with two competing objectives. Apart from maximizing damage to hostile targets, this paper follows the principle of minimizing ammunition consumption under the consideration of resource constraints, feasibility constraints and fire transfer constraints. In order to tackle the two challenges, two types of multi-objective optimizers: NSGA-II (domination-based) and MOEA/D (decomposition-based) enhanced with an adaptive mechanism are adopted to achieve efficient problem solving. Then a comparison study between adaptive NSGA-II (ANSGA-II) and adaptive MOEA/D (AMOEA/D) on solving instances of three scales MWTA problems is done, and four performance metrics are used to evaluate each algorithm. Numerical results show that ANSGA-II outperforms AMOEA/D on solving multi-objective MWTA problems discussed in this paper, and the adaptive mechanism definitely enhances performances of both algorithms.

The main objective of this paper is to develop 3D point cloud alignment technique by using an improved absolute orientation algorithm based on unit quaternion. In this method, Scale Invariant Features Transform (SIFT) is used to find corresponding feature points, and Random Sample Consensus (RANSAC) is used as robust estimator to remove false matches in the point cloud group. The unit quaternion solution is employed for initial registration. After the initial registration of point clouds, this cannot meet the requirements of registration accuracy. Therefore, we need to achieve accurate registration on the basis of initial registration. The Iterative Closest Point (ICP) algorithm is one of the widely-used methods to cope with 3D registration. However, ICP is vulnerable to outliers and missing data, which severely compromises its performance. In this paper, Sparse L p -norm based ICP algorithm is developed to achieve precise registration. Experimental results verified accuracy of the presented algorithm in point cloud registration.

For the speed and tension system of reversing cold strip mill with multivariable, uncertainties and strong coupling, a new method of inverse linear quadratic (ILQ) is proposed. Firstly, a relatively complete mathematical model for the speed and tension multivariable coupling system is established by using the mechanism modeling method. Then according to the state-space expression of the controlled system and aspirations closed-loop poles, optimal feedback matrix is obtained by ILQ method. Instead of choosing the weighted matrix simplifies the design process, and the asymptotic behavior of the system is robust. Simulation results show the effectiveness of this method.

Since the heat dissipation problemis harsh in high power LED lamp, in our studywe suggest an optimal design method of high-power LED lamps radiator based on the equivalent thermal circuit method, we abstract mathematical model of the heat dissipation system of the lamps, then chose several key parameters of radiator--spacing of fins S, height of fins H, thickness of fins t and number of Micro Heat Pipe ArrayN Has design parameters, and set minimum temperature of the chips as optimization objective. Based on the optimization algorithm we have mentioned, we designed a new radiator for high power LED lamps, through steady-heat-thermal analysis in ANSYS software, the junction temperature is far below the requirement. Therefore, the optimization algorithm can be effectively applied to radiator design of high power LED devices with the advantage of accuracy and swiftness.

The Validity Analysis of Regression: Combining Uniform Experiment Design with Nonlinear Regression

The data topology structure of uniform experiment design (UD) is too complex to be reasonable regressed. In this paper, the principle and method of distinguish the training data and testing data were described to make a reasonable regression when uniform experiment design combined with support vector regression (SVR). Two equivalent ways which were the smallest enclosing hypersphere perceptron (SEH) and the enclosing simplex perceptron (ES) were provided to discover the topology relationship of the process parameter datum. To give an application, a series of experiments about laser cladding layer quality were conducted by UD to get the relationship of load, velocity and wearing capacity. Results showed that only the testing datum recommended by the two perceptrons got a good forecasting by SVR. Therefore, the two perceptrons could guide experiments with process parameter data of complex topology structure. Further, the application could be extended over a much wider field of experiments.

Tooth Surface Design for Variable Transmission Ratio Bevel Gearing

A novel CAD method for tooth profile based on the gearing feature has been proposed in this paper, and this method could be applied to the variable transmission ratio and three-dimension situation. The two pitch curves of the two gears can be generated due to the given transmission ratio. The tooth profile curves are formed in each coordinate system of its pitch curve by the gearing process. Finally, the tooth profile could be extracted and translated into a real dimension by CAD method. It is provided a simply thought for tooth profile design to avoid so much complicated mathematical reasoning.

A novel parallel micromanipulator with large range of motion based on flexible hinges is designed and analyzed in this paper, which has three degrees of freedom motions along x, y and z axes. The Pseudo-Rigid-Body (PRB) model method is applied to obtain the kinetic performance and inputting stiffness. To calculate the natural frequency of the mechanism, the Lagrange method is used to achieve the dynamic and frequency equations. In addition, the working range of the architecture is also calculated, analyzed and compared with other similar structures by using ANSYS software, our designed micromanipulator has larger workspace than other existed stages.

The reaction-diffusion neural network is often described by semilinear diffusion partial differential equation (PDE). This article focuses on the asymptotical synchronization and synchronization for coupled reaction-diffusion neural networks with mixed delays (that is, discrete and infinite distributed delays) and Dirichlet boundary condition. First, using the Lyapunov–Krasoviskii functional scheme, the sufficient condition is obtained for the asymptotical synchronization of coupled semilinear diffusion PDEs with mixed time-delays and this condition is represented by linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which is easy to be solved. Then the robust synchronization is considered in temporal-spatial domain for the coupled semilinear diffusion PDEs with mixed delays and external disturbances. In terms of the technique of completing squares, the sufficient condition is obtained for the robust synchronization. Finally, a numerical example of coupled semilinear diffusion PDEs with mixed time-delays is given to illustrate the correctness of the obtained results. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Due to the continuing action of alternating loads, the micro defects of rotor's materials and the micro traumas in the mechanic processing will easily cause the crack propagation and even the catastrophic accidents. The vibration characteristics of the rotor system, the crack breathing states and the crack breathing periods are investigated with different parameters of the synchronous state through the numerical simulation, which are all based on the dynamic model of the nonlinear cracked rotor and the describing function of the breathing crack. The crack breathing states are also studied under the asynchronous state. The paper proposes a novel method of the delaying crack propagation using an Electro-Magnetic Actuator (EMA) in order to realize the vibration control and the delaying crack propagation. By comparing influences of the crack breathing state caused by changes of different parameters (rotational speed, crack angle, crack depth and nonlinear parameters, etc.), the paper summarizes the mutation regulations of the crack breathing state in the synchronous and verifies the feasibility of delaying the crack propagation mechanism. The result of the research shows that the EMA can control the vibration of the nonlinear cracked rotor and delay the crack propagation in the running process of the nonlinear cracked rotor.

A new automatic mass detection method for breast cancer with false positive reduction

Mass localization is a crucial problem in computer-aided detection (CAD) system for the diagnosis of suspicious regions in mammograms. In this paper, a new automatic mass detection method for breast cancer in mammographic images is proposed. Firstly, suspicious regions are located with an adaptive region growing method, named multiple concentric layers (MCL) approach. Prior knowledge is utilized by tuning parameters with training data set during the MCL step. Then, the initial regions are further refined with narrow band based active contour (NBAC), which can improve the segmentation accuracy of masses. Texture features and geometry features are extracted from the regions of interest (ROI) containing the segmented suspicious regions and the boundaries of the segmentation. The texture features are computed from gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) and completed local binary pattern (CLBP). Finally, the ROIs are classified by means of support vector machine (SVM), with supervision provided by the radiologist׳s diagnosis. To deal with the imbalance problem regarding the number of non-masses and masses, supersampling and downsampling are incorporated. The method was evaluated on a dataset with 429 craniocaudal (CC) view images, containing 504 masses. Among them, 219 images containing 260 masses are used to optimize the parameters during MCL step, and are used to train SVM. The remaining 210 images (with 244 masses) are used to test the performance. Masses are detected with 82.4% sensitivity with 5.3 false positives per image (FPsI) with MCL, and after active contour refinement, feature analysis and classification, it obtained 1.48 FPsI at the sensitivity 78.2%. Testing on 164 normal mammographic images showed 5.18 FPsI with MCL and 1.51 FPsI after classification. Experiments on mediolateral oblique (MLO) images have also been performed, the proposed method achieved a sensitivity 75.6% at 1.38 FPsI.
