The existing directional pilot protection (DPP) is susceptible to the line distributed capacitance and the fault resistance, and mostly rely on the current limiting reactance (CLR) at the line ends. To solve the above problems, the line-mode fault component power (LFCP) based DPP is proposed for flexible DC distribution grid (FDCDG). First, the characters of LFCP are discussed under different faults. The theoretical analysis show that the polarity of the LFCP under internal fault is same, while the polarity of the LFCP is opposite under external fault. Then, the LFCP is built as the directional criterion, and the corresponding protection scheme is constructed. The electromagnetic transient simulations of the PSCAD/EMTDC verify that the proposed DPP is less affected by the noise, and has low requirement on the sampling rate, strong engineering applicability.

To address the issue of frequency stability caused by the integration of renewable energy into the grid, the shared energy storage (SES) is coordinated with multiple wind farms (WFs). The scientific PFR reserve capacity configuration of them is essential to balance reliability and cost. Nevertheless, due to the desynchronization of wind resources between WFs and on-site wind turbines (WTs), there are differences in the reserve capacity and allocated SES capacity of different WFs. The traditional unified capacity configuration method easily increases costs. Therefore, this paper proposes a stochastic optimal configuration method considering wind speed (WS) correlations. Firstly, the high-dimensional vine Copula is used and the effects of wake, terrain, and time-delay are considered to portray the WS correlation of multiple WFs and multiple WTs, respectively. Subsequently, the PFR reserve capacity optimal strategy is established to minimize the total cost of the WFs and the SES. In particular, the p-efficient point algorithm based on the Copula function is utilized to solve the chance constraint. The simulation results show that the proposed method reasonably configures each WT's deloading capacity and the SES capacity with consideration of WS correlations and uncertainties, meeting the PFR demand and reducing the reserve cost. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

With the further development of "double high" characteristics of power system, the traditional stability problem dominated by synchronous generator has gradually evolved into a new stability problem dominated by power electronic equipment control. In addition, different types of failure problems can occur in wind power systems. In order to achieve multi-objective coordinated and stable operation of high proportion wind power system, a damping control method with parameters tuning is proposed, which includes the design of filtering link and proportional amplification link. Among them, the key parameters of the proportional link are adjusted. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed control method is verified by simulation tests. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. In order to solve the problem of real-time target allocation in the multi-UAVs task for cooperative tracking the moving targets on ground, based on the behavior model of capture the flag, this paper proposes a dynamic assignment algorithm, which has fast convergence performance, for cluster UAVs. Based on satisfaction and total flight distance, the proposed algorithm constructs the assignment target function, and the optimal value of the target function is achieved quickly and the uniform saturation tracking is realized for the target group through the behavior model of grabbing flags. Finally, compared with traditional genetic algorithm, the simulation results show that the algorithm has a significant improvement in convergence speed and single assignment imply operation speed with the increase of the number of assigned targets and cluster UAVs © 2022 IEEE.

EMOST: A dual-branch hybrid network for medical image fusion via efficient model module and sparse transformer

Multimodal medical image fusion fuses images with different modalities and provides more comprehensive and integrated diagnostic information. However, current multimodal image fusion methods cannot effectively model non-local contextual feature relationships, and due to direct aggregation of the extracted features, they introduce unnecessary implicit noise into the fused images. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes a novel dual-branch hybrid fusion network called EMOST for medical image fusion that combines a convolutional neural network (CNN) and a transformer. First, to extract more comprehensive feature information, an effective feature extraction module is proposed, which consists of an efficient dense block (EDB), an attention module (AM), a multiscale convolution block (MCB), and three sparse transformer blocks (STB). Meanwhile, a lightweight efficient model (EMO) is used in the feature extraction module to exploit the efficiency of the CNN with the dynamic modeling capability of the transformer. Additionally, the STB is incorporated to adaptively maintain the most useful self-attention values and remove as much redundant noise as possible by developing the top-k selection operator. Moreover, a novel feature fusion rule is designed to efficiently integrate the features. Experiments are conducted on four types of multimodal medical images. The proposed method shows higher performance than the art-of-the-state methods in terms of quantitative and qualitative evaluations. Synchronously realizing high spatial resolution and precise location for fiber fault attenuation event detection

Attenuation events are common fault types in optical fiber links, which are very important to identify and accurately locate them with high resolution. However, research on achieving high spatial resolution for fiber fault event localization in the field of optical time-domain reflectometry (OTDR) mainly focuses on reflection events;the precise identification of attenuation events is rarely reported. A chaotic OTDR technique based on attenuation extraction–correlation compression integrative demodulation (AECCID) is proposed to realize high spatial resolution and high-precision localization of attenuation events in optical fiber links. The positioning process and principle of AECCID are analyzed and verified by simulation. The location and length of the attenuation event are precisely recognized according to the demodulated positions of the two correlation peaks. The spatial resolution is only determined by the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the autocorrelation curve of chaotic lasers, which breaks through the limitation of wide pulse width on spatial resolution. The proof-of-concept experimental results show that when the pulse width is 1 µs and the detector bandwidth is 130 MHz, the spatial resolution is improved from 100 m to 0.87 m compared with conventional single-pulse OTDR. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group. The sensitivity to fault reflection is very important for larger dynamic range in fiber fault detection *** time delay signature(TDS)of chaotic laser formed by optical feedback can solve the sensitivity limitation of photodetector in fiber fault *** TDS corresponds to the feedback position and the fault reflection can be detected by the laser *** sensitivity to feedback level of circular-side hexagonal resonator(CSHR)microcavity laser is numerically simulated and the feedback level boundaries of each output dynamic state are *** peak level of TDS is utilized to analyze the *** demonstration is presented in two aspects:the minimum feedback level when the TDS emerges and the variation degree of TDS level on feedback level *** results show that the CSHR microcavity laser can respond to the feedback level of 0.07%,corresponding to-63-dB feedback *** to conventional distributed feedback laser,the sensitivity improves almost 20 dB due to the shorter internal cavity length of CSHR microcavity ***,1%feedback level changing will induce 1.001 variation on TDS level,and this variation degree can be influenced by other critical internal parameters(active region side length,damping rate,and linewidth enhancement factor).

The increase in frequency and intensity of Extreme High-temperature Events(EHEs)over Central-Eastern China(CEC)in recent decades has severely impacted social development and *** observation and reanalysis datasets,this study explores the effect of the East Asian subtropical westerly jet stream(EAJ)on the CEC EHEs for the summers spanning 1979–*** its general relative location to the right side of the upper-level jet stream exit region,CEC would theoretically suffer more EHEs with a stronger and northwardly-shifted EAJ in summer due to the likelihood of abnormal subsidence induced by the ***,such an EAJ–EHE connection has been unstable over the past four decades but has displayed an evident interdecadal *** the late 1990s,the interannual variation of the EAJ was manifested mainly by its meridional displacement in the northeastern part of East Asia;thus,the atmospheric responses were essentially located to the east of CEC,exerting less of an influence on the CEC ***,since the late 1990s,the EAJ variation has featured an intensity change in its center over the northwest portion of the CEC,which has resulted in a westward shift in atmospheric responses to cover the CEC ***,the EAJ could potentially affect the summer CEC EHEs during 2000–*** findings offer support for an in-depth understanding of the formation mechanisms of extreme weather/climate events of this nature and thus provide a scientific reference for seasonal climate predictions.

The effect of different gravity fields on mass transfer in the rat bone lacunar-canalicular system

In the realm of large-scale integration of wind farms or clusters into power grids, the fault transient characteristics of these grids have experienced significant transformations. Unfortunately, the prevalent single-machine equivalent models are inadequate in accurately depicting the fault transient behavior of wind farms or clusters. Moreover, their simulation computations are exceedingly intensive, resulting in suboptimal simulation efficiency. To address these challenges, this paper introduces a clustering and equivalent modeling approach tailored for direct-drive wind farms, leveraging the capabilities of a particle swarm neural network. Initially, a transient model for direct-drive wind turbines is formulated, and fault characteristic influence factors are established through theoretical analysis. These factors encompass the distance between the wind turbine and the point of common coupling (PCC), the implementation of DC-side current limiting measures, wind speed, and reactive power at the outlet. Following this, the Euclidean distance of the influence factor set is computed, and the initial cluster centers of wind turbines are derived using an enhanced max-min distance method. Ultimately, an equivalent clustering model is formulated by utilizing the influence factors and initial cluster centers as the training set. Simulation outcomes reveal that, in comparison to the single-machine equivalent model, this method enhances simulation efficiency by a range of 62% to 67% and reduces the steady-state error in fault current simulation by 0.8% to 1.9%. © 2024 IEEE.
