A Method for Fast Feature Selection Utilizing Cross-Similarity within the Context of Fuzzy Relations

Feature selection methods rooted in rough sets confront two notable limitations:their high computa-tional complexity and sensitivity to noise,rendering them impractical for managing large-scale and noisy *** primary issue stems from these methods’undue reliance on all *** overcome these challenges,we introduce the concept of cross-similarity grounded in a robust fuzzy relation and design a rapid and robust feature selection ***,we construct a robust fuzzy relation by introducing a truncation ***,based on this fuzzy relation,we propose the concept of cross-similarity,which emphasizes the sample-to-sample similarity relations that uniquely determine feature importance,rather than considering all such relations *** studying the manifestations and properties of cross-similarity across different fuzzy granularities,we propose a forward greedy feature selection algorithm that leverages cross-similarity as the foundation for information *** algorithm significantly reduces the time complexity from O(m2n2)to O(mn2).Experimental findings reveal that the average runtime of five state-of-the-art comparison algorithms is roughly 3.7 times longer than our algorithm,while our algorithm achieves an average accuracy that surpasses those of the five comparison algorithms by approximately 3.52%.This underscores the effectiveness of our *** paper paves the way for applying feature selection algorithms grounded in fuzzy rough sets to large-scale gene datasets.

ControlVideo: conditional control for one-shot text-driven video editing and beyond

This paper presents ControlVideo for text-driven video editing — generating a video that aligns with a given text while preserving the structure of the source video. Building on a pre-trained text-to-image diffusion model, ControlVideo enhances the fidelity and temporal consistency by incorporating additional conditions(such as edge maps), and fine-tuning the key-frame and temporal attention on the source video-text pair via an in-depth exploration of the design space. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that ControlVideo outperforms various competitive baselines by delivering videos that exhibit high fidelity w.r.t. the source content, and temporal consistency, all while aligning with the text. By incorporating low-rank adaptation layers into the model before training, ControlVideo is further empowered to generate videos that align seamlessly with reference images. More importantly, ControlVideo can be readily extended to the more challenging task of long video editing(e.g., with hundreds of frames), where maintaining long-range temporal consistency is crucial. To achieve this, we propose to construct a fused ControlVideo by applying basic ControlVideo to overlapping short video segments and key frame videos and then merging them by pre-defined weight functions. Empirical results validate its capability to create videos across 140 frames, which is approximately 5.83 to 17.5 times more than what previous studies achieved. Fake Face Detection Based on Fusion of Spatial Texture and High-Frequency Noise

The rapid development of the Internet has led to the widespread dissemination of manipulated facial images, significantly impacting people's daily lives. With the continuous advancement of Deepfake technology, the generated counterfeit facial images have become increasingly challenging to distinguish. There is an urgent need for a more robust and convincing detection method. Current detection methods mainly operate in the spatial domain and transform the spatial domain into other domains for analysis. With the emergence of transformers, some researchers have also combined traditional convolutional networks with transformers for detection. This paper explores the artifacts left by Deepfakes in various domains and, based on this exploration, proposes a detection method that utilizes the steganalysis rich model to extract high-frequency noise to complement spatial features. We have designed two main modules to fully leverage the interaction between these two aspects based on traditional convolutional neural networks. The first is the multi-scale mixed feature attention module, which introduces artifacts from high-frequency noise into spatial textures, thereby enhancing the model's learning of spatial texture features. The second is the multi-scale channel attention module, which reduces the impact of background noise by weighting the features. Our proposed method was experimentally evaluated on mainstream datasets, and a significant amount of experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach in detecting Deepfake forged faces, outperforming the majority of existing methods.

The distributed nature of federated learning makes it highly susceptible to backdoor attacks, which aim to induce the model to produce incorrect results when specific data is input. Existing defense methods based on distance calculations mostly use one single distance, which can be easily circumvented by backdoor attacks. Therefore, we conducted research on the combination of multiple distances. Based on this, we propose a backdoor defense algorithm based on multi metrics, which evaluates models through distance calculation and normalization to select benign models for aggregation. To verify the effectiveness of our method, we conducted experiments on three datasets, and the results prove that our method can provide good defense without reducing the model's main task accuracy. © 2025 The Authors.

The rapid development of multi-modal large language models (MLLMs) has positioned visual storytelling as a crucial area in content creation. However, existing models often struggle to maintain temporal, spatial, and narrative coherence across image sequences and frequently lack the depth and engagement of human-authored stories. To address these challenges, we propose Story with Large Language and Vision Assistant (StoryLLaVA), a novel framework for enhancing visual storytelling. Our approach introduces a Topic-Driven Narrative Optimizer (TDNO) that improves both the training data and MLLM models by integrating image descriptions, topic generation, and GPT-4-based refinements. Furthermore, we employ a preference-based ranked story sampling method that aligns model outputs with human storytelling preferences through positive-negative pairing. These two phases of the framework differ in their training methods: the former uses supervised fine-tuning, while the latter incorporates reinforcement learning with positive and negative sample pairs. Experimental results demonstrate that StoryLLaVA outperforms current models in visual relevance, coherence, and fluency, with LLM-based evaluations confirming the generation of richer and more engaging narratives. Graph Augmentation Empowered Contrastive Learning for Recommendation

The application of contrastive learning (CL) to collaborative filtering (CF) in recommender systems has achieved remarkable success. CL-based recommendation models mainly focus on creating multiple augmented views by employing different graph augmentation methods and utilizing these views for self-supervised learning. However, current CL methods for recommender systems usually struggle to fully address the problem of noisy data. To address this problem, we propose the Graph Augmentation Empowered Contrastive Learning (GAECL) for recommendation framework, which uses graph augmentation based on topological and semantic dual adaptation and global co-modeling via structural optimization to co-create contrasting views for better augmentation of the CF paradigm. Specifically, we strictly filter out unimportant topologies by reconstructing the adjacency matrix and mask unimportant attributes in nodes according to the PageRank centrality principle to generate an augmented view that filters out noisy data. Additionally, GAECL achieves global collaborative modeling through structural optimization and generates another augmented view based on the PageRank centrality principle. This helps to filter the noisy data while preserving the original semantics of the data for more effective data augmentation. Extensive experiments are conducted on five datasets to demonstrate the superior performance of our model over various recommendation models. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Learning Diversified Primitive Prompts for Compositional Zero-Shot Learning

Compositional Zero-Shot Learning (CZSL) aims to combine known attributes and objects as primitives for recognizing previously unseen attribute-object pairs. The essence of CZSL lies in separately modeling attributes and objects for transfer to unseen compositions. Since primitives exhibit weak entanglement in language features, Vision-Language Models (VLMs) based CZSL methods focus on prompt learning to assist primitive disentanglement in visual spaces. However, these approaches overlook the polysemy of primitives across different compositional contexts, leading the models to overly rely on seen compositions, thereby limiting their generalization capability. To tackle this issue, we propose a novel primitive disambiguation model named DPR, aiming to enhance CZSL performance by acquiring diversified primitive representations through joint-prompt learning. Specifically, DPR introduces Knowledge-Aware Hard Prompting (KAHP), which generates diverse descriptive sentences as supplementary prompts for each composition from the rich knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs). Simultaneously, we design Sample-Adaptive Soft Prompting (SASP), which employs a lightweight neural network to generate input-guided tokens for each image. SASP ensures enhanced generalization capability in DPR’s primitive representations. We validate the effectiveness of our model through extensive experiments and achieve state-of-the-art performance on three CZSL benchmark datasets in both closed-and open-world settings. © 1991-2012 IEEE.
