Online Multiple Object Tracking with Reid Feature Extraction Network and Similarity Matrix Network

In multiple object tracking(MOT), data association is a crucial part. By constructing similarity loss matrix for trajectories and detections, they can be matched correspondingly by using Hungarian matching algorithm. However, the similarity loss is often obtained by calculating the Euclidean distance or other handcraft distance metrics of features extracted between objects, which may not be robust enough, resulting in matching inaccuracy. In this paper, we propose a novel MOT method with applying deep learning to feature extraction and data association. We firstly design the appearance feature extraction network(AFN) to learn effective features by training it on a large-scale person re-identification dataset(reid). Then, we propose the similarity matrix estimation network (SMN) to obtain reliable similarity by training it on the public MOT Challenge dataset, MOT17. Additionally, the similarity matrix output of SMN includes the dummy objects, which are used to deal with the association problems of object missing and object appearance between frames. In the end, our proposed MOT method is evaluated on MOT15, MOT17 and ablation study is carried out.

big data computing model refers to various high-level abstract models extracted and established from the diverse big data computing problems and requirements according to big data's different data characteristics and computational characteristics. In order to improve the data quality, a method of adding semantics to the data is proposed to help users identify big data's pattern. In this way, we can make use of the semantic value of the data, detect big data, and propose a big data computing model through the semantic analysis of the data. The paper presents research on big data computing model based on semantic data analysis technology.

With the development of 5G, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence (AI) technology, cloud game has become a hotspot about application and innovation of Gigabit bandwidth. This paper, firstly, analyses the present situation and development of cloud game to clarify the key business and key technology of cloud game, then, proposes an operational framework of cloud game, finally, the feasibility of the proposed framework is discussed and several suggestions about the operation of cloud game are given.

To address modeling problems of brain-inspired intelligence, this thesis is focused on researching in the semantic-oriented framework design for multimedia and multimodal information. The Multimedia Neural Cognitive Computing (MNCC) model was designed based on the nervous mechanism and cognitive architecture. Furthermore, the semantic-oriented hierarchical Cross-modal Neural Cognitive Computing (CNCC) framework was proposed based on MNCC model, and formal description and analysis for CNCC framework was given. It would effectively improve the performance of semantic processing for multimedia and cross-modal information, and has far-reaching significance for exploration and realization brain-inspired computing. There are a lot of hidden dangers in the change of human skin conditions, such as the sunburn caused by long-time exposure to ultraviolet radiation, which not only has aesthetic impact causing psychological depression and lack of selfconfidence, but also may even be life-threatening due to skin canceration. Current skin disease researches adopt the auto-classification system for improving the accuracy rate of skin disease classification. However, the excessive dependence on the image sample database is unable to provide individualized diagnosis service for different population groups. To overcome this problem, a medical AI framework based on data width evolution and self-learning is put forward in this paper to provide skin disease medical service meeting the requirement of real time, extendibility and individualization. First, the wide collection of data in the close-loop information flow of user and remote medical data center is discussed. Next, a data set filter algorithm based on information entropy is given, to lighten the load of edge node and meanwhile improve the learning ability of remote cloud analysis model. In addition, the framework provides an external algorithm load module, which can be compatible with the application requirements according to the model selected. Three kinds of deep learning model, i.e. LeNet-5, AlexNet and VGG16, are loaded and compared, which have verified the universality of the algorithm load module. The experiment platform for the proposed real-time, individualized and extensible skin disease recognition system is built. And the system's computation and communication delay under the interaction scenario between tester and remote data center are analyzed. With the astronomical growth of online video population, the video recommendation system is crucial for users to locate videos fitting their interests. The collaborative filtering (CF) realizing personalized recommendation by analyzing users' historical view records is currently the most prevalent algorithm adopted by existing systems. Nevertheless, video recommendation performance can be improved for most cases, particularly the one with cold-start problem, if additional information is involved. In this article, we propose an AP-based Context-Aware (APCA) recommendation scheme on top of the traditional factor-based CF algorithm by utilizing the information of access points which has not been explored yet by existing works. The underlying principle is that users' view preferences are expected to be different with different contexts, e.g., hotel, home, public areas, which can be inferred by mining the information of access points via which users launch video requests. With the data collected from Tencent Video, a leading online video provider in China, we present a measurement study to show user view preferences in different contexts before our APCA algorithm is introduced. Experiments are executed driven by the trace data collected from Tencent Video to validate the effectiveness of our scheme in improving recommendation performance. © 2017 ACM.

The online video streaming service is of huge market values with billions of worldwide users. For online video providers, e.g., Net-flix, Youku, the crucial question is how to understand users' view behaviors and preferences because this knowledge is important for their business operation. Existing solutions mainly rely on analyzing users' historical view records, which however are not always available, especially for new videos and unprovided videos. Different from existing solutions, we propose to infer user behaviors and preferences by jointly analyzing data collected from multiple platforms (e.g., video streaming systems, video databases, etc.). In particular, we use the movie data crawled from a leading video streaming system (i.e., Youku), and a well-known video database in China (i.e, Douban) for this study. Our investigation points out that movie quality (evaluated in terms of Douban scores) and release date jointly influence viewers' preferences. In addition, we reveal a series of user behaviors, e.g., users are reluctant to post comments or ratings for movies they do not like, and user eyeballs are heavily captured by new movies. Understanding of these user behaviors covered by this study is essential for video recommendation and video popularity prediction which can benefit video procurement and advertisement campaign. © 2017 ACM.

Enabling QoE-aware Mobile Cloud Video Recording over Roadside Vehicular Networks

Most of previous video recording devices in mobile vehicles commonly store captured video contents locally. With the rapid development of 4G/Wi Fi networks, there emerges a new trend to equip video recording devices with wireless interfaces to enable video uploading to the cloud for video playback in a later time point. In this paper, we propose a QoE-aware mobile cloud video recording scheme in the roadside vehicular networks, which can adaptively select the proper wireless interface and video bitrate for video uploading to the cloud. To maximize the total utility, we need to design a control strategy to carefully balance the transmission cost and the achieved QoE for users. To this purpose, we investigate the tradeoff between cost incurred by uploading through cellular networks and the achieved QoE of users. We apply the optimization framework to solve the formulated problem and design an online scheduling algorithm. We also conduct extensive trace-driven simulations and our results show that our algorithm achieves a good balance between the transmission cost and user QoE.

Lacking of appropriate learning facilities, the traditional approach to learn high-performance computing (HPC) is commonly theory-oriented without sufficient hands-on programming experiences. To improve the hands-on experiences of HPC learners, we design and implement a flexible and adaptive online HPC learning platform in this paper, called EasyHPC. This platform contains various online course modules such as quiz bank, interactive community, and virtual laboratory. In our system, various HPC theoretical and experimental learning activities can be conducted online, such as assigning HPC parallel programming tasks, and creating HPC questions and collecting students' submissions. It is convenient for students to study HPC-related courses in our platform, submit course assignments, exchange ideas, and complete HPC programming tasks. Our preliminary learning trials have shown that our system can effectively improve the hands-on experience of our students by providing an integrated HPC learning and programming environment. Our students are able to achieve various HPC capstone projects in our platform to develop their system capability.

With the development of the technology, Vehicular Ad-hoc Network is developing rapidly and continuously. And many new algorithms in VANET were put forward. For example, many people apply the Named data Networks or Software Defined Networking6 to the VANET. However, few researches are looking into the analysis of the topology of the VANET, among most of which are based on simple situations and calculation of the track of vehicles. And therefore, these analysis are inadequate for analyzing the topology under complex situations. This paper is going to put forward a new method for analyzing the change of the topology of VANET, which is capable to quantitatively analyze the change under different and complex situations. In the real experiment, when compared with traditional analysis methods, this new method can analyze more precisely the impact of some possible wireless communication problem on the change of the topology, for example, the impact of hidden node on the vehicular wireless communication and whether the number or the density of vehicles makes the topology of VANET more stable. And this new method can provide a numerical result instead of purely qualitative analysis. © 2016 IEEE.
