This paper extends frequency domain quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG) methods pursuing higher sensitivity to detect Brain Developmental Disorders. Prior qEEG work lacked integration of cross-spectral information omitting important functional connectivity descriptors. Lack of geographical diversity precluded accounting for site-specific variance, increasing qEEG nuisance variance. We ameliorate these weaknesses. (i) Create lifespan Riemannian multinational qEEG norms for cross-spectral tensors. These norms result from the HarMNqEEG project fostered by the Global Brain Consortium. We calculate the norms with data from 9 countries, 12 devices, and 14 studies, including 1564 subjects. Instead of raw data, only anonymized metadata and EEG cross spectral tensors were shared. After visual and automatic quality control, developmental equations for the mean and standard deviation of qEEG traditional and Riemannian DPs were calculated using additive mixed-effects models. We demonstrate qEEG "batch effects " and provide methods to calculate harmonized z-scores. (ii) We also show that harmonized Riemannian norms produce z-scores with increased diagnostic accuracy predicting brain dysfunction produced by malnutrition in the first year of life and detecting COVID induced brain dysfunction. (iii) We offer open code and data to calculate different individual z-scores from the HarMNqEEG dataset. These results contribute to developing bias-free, low-cost neuroimaging technologies applicable in various health settings.

This paper investigates the distributed motion planning of multiple robot arms with limited communications in the presence of noises. To do this, a nonlinearly-activated noise-tolerant zeroing neural network (NANTZNN) is designed and presented for the first time for solving the presented distributed scheme online. Theoretical analyses and simulation results show the effectiveness and accuracy of the presented distributed scheme with the aid of NANTZNN model.

An automatic question answering system is generally composed of the question analysis module, the information retrieval module, the answer selection module, etc. The core component of automatic question answering system is the answer selection module, which focuses on extracting adequate information from the questions and answers and representing them effectively. The performance of answer selection directly determines the quality of the answers submitted to users. In this paper, we studied the answer selection schemes, especially the Attentive LSTM scheme, focusing on the application of the attention mechanism commonly utilized in deep learning models. Meanwhile, a self-attentive LSTM is proposed by combining the Attentive LSTM with self-attention which is capable of extracting the local features and the global features of texts at the same time. In addition, a multi-attentive LSTM is proposed so that multiple parts of information in the question are available for the answer. We performed a series of experiments based on the datasets InsuranceQA and TrecQA, compared and analyzed on the performances of the above schemes.

When facing massive statistical data, the k-means algorithm is very difficult to satisfy the need of data processing as it lacks an effective parallel mechanism. This paper proposes an improved k-means algorithm (IMR-KCA) to conduct clustering analysis based on medical data employing MapReduce computing framework. Through analyzing the defects of vast redundancy in the traditional k-means algorithms, a selection model is firstly proposed to simplify the computations with multiple clustering centers. Based on several proposed theorems, we prove the correctness of this selection model. Second, this paper provides a method to calculate the distances from extreme points to central points, and the original Euclidean distance is replaced with Manhattan distance. For this simplification, a group of theorems are proposed to prove the correctness. Next, we provide a group of implementation algorithms to complete the parallelism of the clustering computation employing the MapReduce framework. Finally, the experimental results illustrate that IMR-KCA is more reliable and efficient than the direct parallelization of the traditional clustering algorithms based on MapReduce. With the rapid development of the internet, applications of recommendation systems for online shops and entertainment platforms become more and more popular. In order to improve the effectiveness of recommendation, external information has been incorporated into various algorithms, such as location and social relationship. However, most algorithms only focus on the introduction of external information without depth analysis of the intrinsic mechanism in the external information. This paper proposed a transfer model of social trusted relationship, and optimized the reliability of the transfer model using pruning algorithm based on original trust recommendation. A credible social relationship macro-transfer model based on iterations of new credible relationships is defined by the similarity of social relationships. With a certain interest topic as a source of information, a micro-transfer model achieves the theme of interest and credibility of the expansion using social information dissemination algorithm. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the macro and micro credible transfer models, we used the Mantra search tree pruning algorithm and the optimization algorithm of similar category replacing similar products. The experimental results show that the proposed method based on the macroscopic and microscopic transfer models of the trusted relationship enhances the success rate and stability of the recommended system.

intelligent Manufacturing has attracted global and continuous attention recent years, with more and more intelligent devices and systems applied in production. In this paper, we take China’s manufacturing listed firms to investigate the productivity difference between intelligent and general manufacturing firms. By the Cobb-Douglas production function, we built a Coefficient-varying Model and used Seemingly Unrelated Regression (SUR) to estimate the time-varying trend of productivity from 2011 to 2017. The empirical results show that “intelligent Manufacturing” has obviously promoted the Labor factor utilization efficiency and the Total Factor Productivity (TFP) through the advances in technology. But it doesn’t have universally enhancing effect of all industries. The impact of “intelligent Manufacturing” still remains to be observed overtime.

To solve the recognition of road sign with an intelligent vehicle in vision-based navigation, road sign extraction and matching techniques required in outdoor scene was proposed in this paper. The method of the improved curvature based on feature extraction and binary description took the advantage of reasonable features distribution to overcome the problems of traditional features uneven distribution. Binary description method was represented to solve the real-time problem of feature matching. Through the validity and real-time performance of different algorithms are compared by experiments and indicate that the method can not only overcome negative influences from the disturb of non-targets, while spending on average only 46 ms processing each frame, but also meet the requirements of robustness, real-time, and accuracy.

This work is the first to consider the self-triggered distributed optimization problem for multi-agent systems with periodic sampling communication. Each agent computes its next update time instance at the previous time. The self-triggered distributed protocols are proposed to reduce the load of in-network communication. It is proved that these self-triggered protocol achieves optimal consensus exponentially under a undirected and connected network topology.

Considering the difficulty of fruit and vegetable images with uneven illumination and uncontrolled backgrounds, this paper proposed an image preprocess algorithm based on visual subject detection. Firstly, we can use manifold ranking to significance test and to acquire significance images, then use gradient images and position weighting to get cutting images, finally adjust the image brightness and remove image noise to complete the image *** experiment results demonstrated the robustness and real-time of the proposed algorithm which can segment images accurately and the accuracy is higher than 91%.

With stable development of container transportation in shipping industry, the transit shipment from road to railway of inland ports plays a significant role in multimodal transport. This paper presents the method of inland port location planning based on user equilibrium. In the study, the virtual connection simulating the process of transfer in inland ports is conducted to measure the fitness of inland port location through the cargo volume on virtual connection. At last, the methodology was applied into practical experiment with the results showing that the method can locate the suit inland port location. © ASCE.
