An Adaptive DoH Encrypted Tunnel Detection Method Based on Contrastive Learning

The percentage of encrypted network traffic has constantly increased as network security has been continuously improved. Attackers can, however, utilize encrypted DNS over HTTPS (DoH) to conceal their malicious traffic, which makes it more difficult to identify malicious tunnels. To address this issue, we first examine the encryption features of DoH tunnel traffic. Due to the incapability of current detection techniques to properly fuse traffic attributes, a fusion learning-based method is proposed to detect DoH encrypted tunnel traffic. At the same time, we discover that the DoH traffic samples may exhibit concept drift. As a result, we present a concept drift detection approach based on a contrastive sparse autoencoder. In addition to the above method, a model retraining strategy is also suggested to improve the model’s capacity to identify new DoH encrypted tunnel traffic while reducing its reliance on expert label data. This strategy involves incrementally training the model using as few samples as possible. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can significantly enhance detection performance. When 7% of drift samples are used during incremental training, the detection accuracy of the model recovers from 74.02% to 99.96%. © 2014 IEEE.

Task Prioritization in Multiagent Environments: A Novel Approach Using Nash Q-Learning

—With the rapid proliferation of smartphones and various terminal devices, edge computing has gained increasing importance in overcoming computational limitations and enhancing service quality through task offloading. However, most existing approaches handle tasks on a first-come, first-served basis, neglecting task prioritization, which is critical in real-world scenarios where tasks have different levels of urgency and resource requirements. This paper addresses the challenge of effective task prioritization in multi-agent task offloading by proposing a Nash Q-learning-based strategy. Our methodology involves optimizing task allocation decisions using Nash Q-learning to integrate Nash equilibrium principles, thereby enhancing adaptability and dynamic decision-making capabilities within a multi-agent environment. The proposed algorithm is evaluated through extensive simulations, comparing total delay, resource utilization, and task success rates across various task offloading strategies. The results demonstrate that our Nash Q-learning approach outperforms conventional techniques by dramatically lowering overall latency, optimizing resource allocation, and maintaining high task success rates. This work demonstrates the efficacy of Nash Q-learning for dynamically setting priorities for tasks in multi-agent edge computing environments, providing a robust framework for effective resource management and collaborative task completion. And also highlight the potential of Nash Q-learning in advancing intelligent task management in edge computing, suggesting its applicability in real-world, resource-constrained environments. © 2025 IEEE. UAV 3D Path Planning Based on Improved Chimp Optimization Algorithm

Aiming to address the limitations of the standard Chimp Optimization Algorithm (ChOA), such as inadequate search ability and susceptibility to local optima in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) path planning, this paper proposes a three-dimensional path planning method for UAVs based on the Improved Chimp Optimization Algorithm (IChOA). First, this paper models the terrain and obstacle environments spatially and formulates the total UAV flight cost function according to the constraints, transforming the path planning problem into an optimization problem with multiple constraints. Second, this paper enhances the diversity of the chimpanzee population by applying the Sine chaos mapping strategy and introduces a nonlinear convergence factor to improve the algorithm’s search accuracy and convergence speed. Finally, this paper proposes a dynamic adjustment strategy for the number of chimpanzee advance echelons, which effectively balances global exploration and local exploitation, significantly optimizing the algorithm’s search performance. To validate the effectiveness of the IChOA algorithm, this paper conducts experimental comparisons with eight different intelligent algorithms. The experimental results demonstrate that the IChOA outperforms the selected comparison algorithms in terms of practicality and robustness in UAV 3D path planning. It effectively solves the issues of efficiency in finding the shortest path and ensures high stability during execution.

Objective: Accurate decoding of electroencephalogram (EEG) signals has become more significant for the brain-computer interface (BCI). Specifically, motor imagery and motor execution (MI/ME) tasks enable the control of external devices by decoding EEG signals during imagined or real movements. However, accurately decoding MI/ME signals remains a challenge due to the limited utilization of temporal information and ineffective feature selection methods. Methods: This paper introduces DMSACNN, an end-to-end deep multiscale attention convolutional neural network for MI/ME-EEG decoding. DMSACNN incorporates a deep multiscale temporal feature extraction module to capture temporal features at various levels. These features are then processed by a spatial convolutional module to extract spatial features. Finally, a local and global feature fusion attention module is utilized to combine local and global information and extract the most discriminative spatiotemporal features. Main results: DMSACNN achieves impressive accuracies of 78.20%, 96.34% and 70.90% for hold-out analysis on the BCI-IV-2a, High Gamma and OpenBMI datasets, respectively, outperforming most of the state-of-the-art methods. Conclusion and significance: These results highlight the potential of DMSACNN in robust BCI applications. Our proposed method provides a valuable solution to improve the accuracy of the MI/ME-EEG decoding, which can pave the way for more efficient and reliable BCI systems. Video Character Social Relationship Recognition (VCSRR) requires a comprehensive consideration about spatio-temporal and multi-modal clues in videos. Most existing methods mainly focus on integrating multi-modal clues and modeling interactions among characters. However, they fail to discover key clues in the complex video data or fully understand the clues related to social relationships. In this article, we propose a novel Large Language Model Enhanced key Clues Selection (LEKCS) framework to address the aforementioned issues. The core of LE-KCS is to mine multi-scale key clues from the perspectives of time, space and multi-modality, then transfer the knowledge about social relationships of the Large Language Model to VCSRR for understanding the selected clues. We evaluated LEKCS on the MovieGraphs dataset and the experimental results indicate that our proposed LE-KCS achieves state-of-the-art performance. © 2025 IEEE.

Effect of energy back transfer from Er3+ to Yb3+ ions on the upconversion luminescence of Er:NaYb(MoO4)2 and Yb,Er:NaBi(MoO4)2

Under the excitation of a 980 nm laser, the visible upconversion (UC) luminescence of Er3+ ions doped Yb3+ ions self-activated NaYb(MoO4)2 phosphor and crystal, as well as the Yb3+/Er3+ ions codoped NaBi(MoO4)2 crystal were investigated comprehensively. The results indicate that all three samples exhibit two significant green emission bands and a weak red emission band in the visible band corresponding to the transitions of 2H11/2/4S3/2 → 4I15/2 and 4F9/2 → 4I15/2 of Er3+ ions, respectively. Through the variable power density spectra of three different samples, the relationship between the energy back transfer (EBT) process of Yb3+-Er3+ ions and the power density point and Yb3+ ion concentration was investigated. The EBT process was observed in both the Er3+ ions doped Yb3+ ions self-activated NaYb(MoO4)2 phosphor and crystal, as confirmed by the luminescence image of the sample. At high power density, the Yb3+ ions self-activated sample exhibited yellow luminescence, with the crystal appearing later than the phosphor. In contrast, the NaBi(MoO4)2 crystal displayed bright green emission within the measured power density range. In addition, by monitoring the relative intensity change of Yb3+ emission in 5 at% Er3+:NaYb(MoO4)2 crystal, the generation of EBT process in self-activated samples at high power density is more directly explained. These experimental results provide a reliable basis for our comprehensive understanding of the EBT mechanism, and also provide a reliable direction for the final determination of the optimal excitation power density for optical temperature measurement. © The Author(s) 2025.

Recognizing emotions in dialogues is vital for effective human-computer interaction, yet remains a challenging task in Natural Language Processing (NLP). Previous studies in Emotion Recognition in Conversation (ERC) have primarily focused on contextual features, while overlooking the importance of emotional features in emotion recognition. To address this gap, we focus on the role of emotional features in ERC and propose a novel method, Emotional Knowledge Self-Distillation (EmoKSD1), to enhance the model's emotional sensitivity. In EmoKSD, utterances are enriched with implicit 〈mask〉 tokens to represent conveyed emotions, allowing the distillation of emotional knowledge from explicit emotional tokens to implicit 〈mask〉 tokens, thereby enhancing the model's ability to perceive subtle emotions within the dialogue. Through thorough evaluations on two public ERC datasets (i.e., IEMOCAP and MELD) using proposed coarse-grained utterance distillation and fine-grained token distillation techniques, EmoKSD demonstrates superior performance compared to existing methods, highlighting the significance of emotional features in ERC. © 2025 IEEE.

RIS-Assisted ISAC Systems for Robust Secure Transmission With Imperfect Sense Estimation

In this paper, we investigate reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems for robust physical layer security (PLS) schemes. Traditionally, eavesdroppers (Eves) typically avoid interacting with the base station, making it challenging to obtain their relevant information, which limits the implementation of PLS. Fortunately, the sensing information obtained by ISAC can contribute to the design of PLS. Therefore, leveraging imperfect sensing estimation and employing dedicated radar signals as artificial noise, we formulate an RIS-assisted joint active and passive beamforming design problem to maximize the sum secrecy rate while satisfying the user’s quality of service constraints, the transmission power constraints, and the sensing signal strength requirements. To make the problem tractable, we first derive the bound for Eve’s channel state information uncertainty region based on security approximations. Subsequently, we employ the S-procedure and the symbolic-deterministic methods to transform the infinite number of inequalities. We then utilize the first-order Taylor expansion, the second-order cone methods, and the successive convex approximation to address the nonconvexity problem, leading to an efficient suboptimal solution obtained by an iterative algorithm. Finally, the simulation results demonstrate the significant potential of the sensing function in enhancing security and the effectiveness of the proposed robust scheme in flexibly balancing communication and sensing quality. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

IMPACT: Importance-Informed Prefetching and Caching for I/O-Bound DNN Training

Fetching large amounts of DNN training data from storage systems causes high I/O latency and GPU stalls. Importance sampling can reduce data processing on GPUs while maintaining model accuracy, but current frameworks lack a prefetching and caching layer to optimize data fetches and cache management based on sample importance. This leads to unnecessary fetches, poor cache hit ratios, and random I/Os. We present ImPACT, an importance-informed prefetching and caching system, to accelerate I/O-bound DNN training. First, we propose an importance-informed prefetching technique to reduce the prefetching of unimportant data. Then, we introduce an importance-aware caching layer, partitioned into two regions: H-cache and L-cache, which store samples of high importance and low importance respectively. Rather than using recency or frequency, we manage data items in H-cache according to their corresponding sample importance. When there is a cache miss in L-cache, we use sample substitutability and dynamic packaging to improve the cache hit ratio and reduce the number of random I/Os. Our experimental results show that ImPACT has a negligible impact on training accuracy while speeding up DNN training by up to 3.5× compared to state-of-the-art prefetching and caching systems. © 1968-2012 IEEE.
