The development of the mobile Internet has led to a shape increase in video traffic data. New Mobile Edge computing (MEC) technology can reduce network operation and service delivery delays, so as to improving the QoE (Quality of Experience) of user. In MEC environment, this article builds a simulation platform for multi-bitrate video caching and scheduling scenarios VECSim (Video Edge CloudSim). VECSim provides a simulation environment specific to verify multi-bitrate video caching collaboratively and scheduling strategy in the Mobile Edge computing scenarios. Unlike simple numerical simulations and complex real-world deployments, VECSim provides a simple interface that can be called by the user, besides, it can be used to provide larger-scale, more flexible request scenarios which are closer to the actual environment. Based on the edge computing simulation platform EdgeCloudSim, this platform adds and modifies quite a few functions so that it can be effectively used in multi-bitrate video caching and scheduling scenarios, which now includes seven main modules: Server Management Modules, Network Module, User Mobility Module, Task Loader Generator Module, Video Storage Module, Edge Client Management Module, and Edge Orchestrator Module. With this platform, researchers can easily and quickly verify their video caching and scheduling strategies. © 2022 IEEE.

Recent endeavors towards directly using large language models (LLMs) as agent models to execute interactive planning tasks have shown commendable results. Despite their achievements, however, they still struggle with brainless trial-and-error in global planning and generating hallucinatory actions in local planning due to their poor understanding of the "real" physical world. Imitating humans' mental world knowledge model which provides global prior knowledge before the task and maintains local dynamic knowledge during the task, in this paper, we introduce parametric World Knowledge Model (WKM) to facilitate agent planning. Concretely, we steer the agent model to self-synthesize knowledge from both expert and sampled trajectories. Then we develop WKM, providing prior task knowledge to guide the global planning and dynamic state knowledge to assist the local planning. Experimental results on three complex real-world simulated datasets with three state-of-the-art open-source LLMs, Mistral-7B, Gemma-7B, and Llama-3-8B, demonstrate that our method can achieve superior performance compared to various strong baselines. Other interesting findings include: 1) our instance-level task knowledge can generalize better to unseen tasks, 2) weak WKM can guide strong agent model planning, and 3) unified WKM training has promising potential for further development. Recently, with the increasing complexity of agricultural systems and climate change, agricultural pest and disease surveillance and early detection have become critical tasks for guaranteeing food stability and promoting sustainable farming growth. Agricultural pest and disease surveillance is a key component of agricultural production, directly affecting crop yield and quality. As big data advances and image processing technologies rapidly, their application in crop pest and disease surveillance has become increasingly widespread. By integrating multi-source data, such as remote sensing data, meteorological data, ecological data, and pest and disease survey data, researchers can build more accurate and efficient pest and disease surveillance models. This paper reviews the research progress of big data and image processing technologies in crop pest and disease surveillance, analyzes the advantages and challenges of current technologies, and proposes future research directions to enhance the automation and intelligence of systems. Additionally, it discusses the integration of deep learning and other techniques to achieve efficient information mining and accurate retrieval of disaster-related data, aiming to provide scientific guidance and technical support for agricultural production. © 2024 IEEE.

A Low-Rank Matching Attention Based Cross-Modal Feature Fusion Method for Conversational Emotion Recognition

Conversational emotion recognition (CER) is an important research topic in human-computer interactions. Although recent advancements in transformer-based cross-modal fusion methods have shown promise in CER tasks, they tend to overlook the crucial intra-modal and inter-modal emotional interaction or suffer from high computational complexity. To address this, we introduce a novel and lightweight cross-modal feature fusion method called Low-Rank Matching Attention Method (LMAM). LMAM effectively captures contextual emotional semantic information in conversations while mitigating the quadratic complexity issue caused by the self-attention mechanism. Specifically, by setting a matching weight and calculating inter-modal features attention scores row by row, LMAM requires only one-third of the parameters of self-attention methods. We also employ the low-rank decomposition method on the weights to further reduce the number of parameters in LMAM. As a result, LMAM offers a lightweight model while avoiding overfitting problems caused by a large number of parameters. Moreover, LMAM is able to fully exploit the intra-modal emotional contextual information within each modality and integrates complementary emotional semantic information across modalities by computing and fusing similarities of intra-modal and inter-modal features simultaneously. Experimental results verify the superiority of LMAM compared with other popular cross-modal fusion methods on the premise of being more lightweight. Also, LMAM can be embedded into any existing state-of-the-art CER methods in a plug-and-play manner, and can be applied to other multi-modal recognition tasks, e.g., session recommendation and humour detection, demonstrating its remarkable generalization ability. © 2024 IEEE.

Social media is the platform for most people to share their opinions, emojis are also widely used to express moods, emotions, and feelings on social media. There have been many researched on emojis and sentiment analysis. However, existing methods mainly face two limitations. First, since deep learning relies on large amounts of labeled data, the training samples of emoji are not enough to achieve the training effect. Second, they consider the sentiment of emojis and texts separately, not fully exploring the impact of emojis on the sentiment polarity of texts. In this paper, we propose a joint learning sentiment analysis method incorporating emoji-augmentation, and the method has two advantages compared with the existing work. First, We optimize the easy data augmentation method so that the newly generated sentences can also preserve the semantic information of emojis, which relieves the problem of insufficient training data with emojis. Second, it fuses emojis and text features to allow the model to better learn the mutual emotional semantics between text and emojis, jointly training emojis and words to obtain the sentence representations containing more semantic information of both emojis and text. Our experimental results show that the proposed method can significantly improve the performance compared with several baselines on two datasets. © 2022 IEEE.

Various stakeholders, such as researchers, government agencies, businesses, and research laboratories require a large volume of reliable scientific research outcomes including research articles and patent data to support their work. These data are crucial for a variety of application, such as advancing scientific research, conducting business evaluations, and undertaking policy analysis. However, collecting such data is often a time-consuming and laborious task. Consequently, many users turn to using openly accessible data for their research. However, these existing open dataset releases typically suffer from lack of relationship between different data sources and a limited temporal coverage. To address this issue, we present a new open dataset, the intelligent Innovation dataset (IIDS), which comprises six interrelated datasets spanning nearly 120 years, encompassing paper information, paper citation relationships, patent details, patent legal statuses, and funding information. The extensive contextual and extensive temporal coverage of the IIDS dataset will provide researchers and practitioners and policy maker with comprehensive data support, enabling them to conduct indepth scientific research and comprehensive data analyses. © 2020 Tsinghua University Press.

This study examines ways to create personalized learning pathways that are influenced by large collaborative models and multi-modal knowledge graphs. By integrating multi-modal data to construct a comprehensive knowledge network, this study utilizes the generative and comprehension capabilities of large models to achieve personalized customization of learning resources. The focus of the research is on accurately depicting learner characteristics through multi-modal profiling techniques, ensuring the transparency and credibility of the content generated by large models. The personalized learning route suggestion model proposed in this paper includes two parts: recommendations for learning paths within courses and recommendations for learning paths within learning tasks, aiming to enhance learning efficiency and outcomes through the collaborative effects of multi-modal knowledge graphs and large models. Experimental results indicate that the learning path recommendation model driven by multi-modal knowledge graphs and large collaborative models performs excellently in improving learning outcomes and recommendation performance. © 2024 IEEE.

Accurate brain tumor segmentation of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images requires the integration of multimodal data in effective collaborative learning. However, clinical scenarios often face missing modalities, significantly impacting segmentation performance. In this paper, we propose the penta-encoder with medical transformer (Penta-MedTrans) for incomplete multimodal learning, which consists of four main components: a modality-specific encoder (MSE), a modality-dynamic encoder (MDE), a multimodal fusion module (MMFM) and a convolutional decoder. The MSE extracts unique features for each modality, while the MDE captures inter-modal semantics to address missing modalities. The MMFM establishes and aligns long-range correlations between modal-invariant features and global semantics of tumor regions. The convolutional decoder generates robust segmentation results by progressively upsampling and fusing modality-invariant features. We extensively validated our method on the BraTS 2020 and BraTS 2021 datasets for brain tumor segmentation. Results showed that our method outperforms SOTA for incomplete multimodal brain tumor segmentation across most subsets. © 2024 IEEE.

Diffusion MRI (dMRI) is widely used for the detection and diagnosis of various pathologies due to its non-invasive nature. However, its signal acquisition process is relatively slow and susceptible to motions. In order to accelerate reconstruction process, many deep learning-based methods have been developed in recent years to achieve promising results, while most of them are supervised based methods and require fully sampled data which are difficult to obtain in practical applications to train the network. Self-supervised based methods were proposed to deal with this problem to a certain extent, however, they are devoted only to conventional MRI data, ignoring the correlation between the directions of dMRI data. To address this issue, we propose a self-supervised fast reconstruction method for dMRI based on multi-directional assistance. The method better utilizes the information between dMRI data directions by Partition-Replace operation, cleverly constructing data pairs and designing effective self-supervised strategy for bi-directional prediction, which can overcome the problem of data incompleteness and guide the model to reconstruct unsampled signals in spite of the difficulty of acquiring fully sampled data. Experimental results show that our method achieves better reconstruction in the absence of fully sampled data, even with an 8-fold acceleration factor. © 2024 IEEE.

Due to over-abundant information on the Web, information filtering becomes a key task for online users to obtain relevant suggestions and how to extract the most related item is always a key topic for researchers in various fields. In this paper, we adopt tools used to analyze complex networks to evaluate user reputation and item quality. In our proposed Accumulative Time Based Ranking (ATR) algorithm, we take into account the growth record of the network to identify the evolution of the reputation of users and the quality of items, by incorporating two behavior weighting factors which can capture the hidden facts on reputation and quality dynamics for each user and item respectively. Our proposed ATR algorithm mainly combines the iterative approach to rank user reputation and item quality with temporal dependence compared with other reputation evaluation methods. We show that our algorithm outperforms other benchmark ranking algorithms in terms of precision and robustness on empirical datasets from various online retailers and the citation datasets among research publications. Therefore, our proposed method has the capability to effectively evaluate user reputation and item quality.
