Deep well construction of big data platform based on multi-source heterogeneous data fusion

At present, energy saving and emission reduction had become a problem of great concern for mankind. At the same time, there were some problems in the mining industry, such as waste of resources, low efficiency and easy occurrence of industrial accidents. Therefore, this paper had designed a deep well construction big data platform. The high precision and bear great pressure sensors were added to the system to solve the difficult problem of collecting information in deep wells by ordinary sensors. The multi-source heterogeneous data fusion algorithm was added to the system to solve the problem that the format of the data acquisition was different. In conclusion, the completion of the platform could achieve data monitoring in the process of mines. It not only helps to enhance the safety of mine construction, but also provides data analytical tools for further theoretical research of mine construction. © 2019 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

The power of trading polarity: Evidence from China stock market crash

The imbalance of buying and selling functions profoundly in the formation of market trends, however, a fine-granularity investigation of the imbalance is still missing. This paper investigates a unique transaction dataset that enables us to inspect the imbalance of buying and selling on the man-times level at high frequency, what we call 'trading polarity', for a large cross-section of stocks from Shenzhen Stock Exchange. The trading polarity measures the market sentiment toward stocks from a view of very essence of trading desire. When using the polarity to examine market crash, we find that trading polarity successfully reects the changing of market-level behavior in terms of its ipping times, depth, and length. We further investigate the relationship between polarity and return. At market-level, trading polarity is negatively correlated with returns, while at stock-level, this correlation changes according to market conditions, which becomes a good signal of market psychology transition. Also, the significant correlation disclosed by the market polarity and market emotion implies that our presented polarity, which essentially calculated in the context of high-frequency trading data, can real-timely reect the sentiment of the market. The trading polarity indeed provides a new way to understand and foresee the market behavior. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Recent years conventional neural network(CNN) has been applied to different natural language processing(NLP) tasks such as sentence classification, sentence modeling, etc. Some researchers use CNN to do multi-label classification but their work mainly focus on image rather than text. In this paper, we propose an improved CNN via hierarchical dirichlet process(HDP) model to deal with the multi-label classification problem in NLP. We first apply an HDP model to discard some words which are less important semantically. Then we use word embedding methods to transform words to vectors. Finally, we train CNN based on word vectors. Experimental results demonstrate that our method is superior to most traditional multi-label classification methods and TextCNN in terms of performance.

In order to realize the timely and accurate alarm for abnormal conditions in train carriages, a scheme of abnormal noise alarm system based on zigbee is proposed. The overall system architecture as well as the hardware and software structure of each node is designed. Meanwhile, the workflow and implementation process of each module are elaborated in detail. The system includes five parts: sensor node, zigbee router, coordinator, video module and intelligent terminal. Firstly, the decibels collected by the sound sensor are processed through threshold judgment and sent to the coordinator through the zigbee router module. Secondly, the video module recognizes and analyzes the video of the alarming carriage by means of artificial intelligence. Finally, the detailed alarm information is sent to the intelligent terminal. The development cost of this system is low while its installation and maintenance is convenient. It improves the monitoring facilities of train carriages, which can not only guarantee the accuracy and real time of the warning, but also set the threshold value and delete alarm mark manually. It has strong expansibility and portability, which is of practical significance for improving the safety of train operation.

Growth stage information is a very primary parameter for managing the grain crop. In this study, time series Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) data in 2015 were obtained in Anhui Province, China based on 8-day composite MOD09A1 data products, and the extraction method of rice phenology was specifically analyzed at a provincial scale. HANTS (Harmonic Analysis of Time Series) filtering algorithm was firstly used to smooth the time series EVI curves and identify every growth and development period of paddy rice. The results indicate that HANTS has a better performance in removing noise, restoring original information and retain the change information of multi-temporal EVI curves. The primary planting regions were located in the southern Huai-River areas, from early June to late June in 2015. It turned into the transplanting stage in succession from south to north and followed by the heading stage in succession in early August. From early September to late October, it turned into mature stage from south to north in succession. © 2017 IEEE.

This paper extends our previous DESIQUE [1] algorithm to a local-and-global way (LaG-DESIQUE) to blindly measure image quality without training on human opinion scores. The local DESIQUE extracts block-based log-derivative features and evaluates image quality through measuring the multivariate Gaussian distance between selected natural and test image patches. The global DESIQUE extracts image-based log-derivative features and image quality is estimated based on a two-stage framework, which was trained on a set of regenerated distorted images with their quality scores estimated by MAD [2] algorithm. The overall quality is the weighted average of local and global DESIQUE scores. Test on several image databases demonstrates that LaG-DESIQUE performs competitively well in predicting image quality. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2018.

Dimensionality reduction, also called feature extraction, is an important issue in pattern recognition. However, many existing dimensionality reduction methods, such as principal component analysis, fail when there exist noises in data, especially for noise caused by outliers or corruption. Recently, a robust method, named low-rank embedding (LRE) is proposed, which uses the nuclear norm for characterizing the low rank structure hided in the data. However, one major limitation of the nuclear norm is that each singular value is treated equally, since the nuclear norm is defined as the sum of all singular values. Thus the rank function may not be well approximated in practice. To overcome this drawback, this paper presents a truncated nuclear norm based low rank embedding (Truncated-LRE). The truncated nuclear norm can approximate the rank function more accurately than nuclear norm. Experimental results show encouraging results of the proposed methods in comparison with the state-of-the-art matrix dimensionality reduction methods. © 2017, Springer International Publishing AG.

Finding communities in networks is one of the challenging issues in complex network research. We have to deal with very large networks that contain billions of vertices, which makes community discovery a computationally intensive work. Moreover, communities usually overlap each other, which greatly increases the difficulty of identifying the boundaries of communities. In this paper, we propose a parallel multi-label propagation algorithm (PMLPA) that enhances traditional multi-label propagation algorithm (MLPA) in two ways. First, the critical steps of MLPA are parallelized based on the MapReduce model to get higher scalability. Second, new label updating strategy is used to automatically determine the most valuable labels of each vertex. Furthermore, we study the improvement of PMLPA through considering the influence of vertices and labels on label updating. In this way, the importance of each label can be described with higher precision. Experiments on artificial and real networks prove that the proposed algorithms can achieve both high discovering accuracy and high scalability. © 2017 World Scientific Publishing Company.

Attentive relational networks for mapping images to scene graphs

Scene graph generation refers to the task of automatically mapping an image into a semantic structural graph, which requires correctly labeling each extracted object and their interaction relationships. Despite the recent success in object detection using deep learning techniques, inferring complex contextual relationships and structured graph representations from visual data remains a challenging topic. In this study, we propose a novel Attentive Relational Network that consists of two key modules with an object detection backbone to approach this problem. The first module is a semantic transformation module utilized to capture semantic embedded relation features, by translating visual features and linguistic features into a common semantic space. The other module is a graph self-attention module introduced to embed a joint graph representation through assigning various importance weights to neighboring nodes. Finally, accurate scene graphs are produced by the relation inference module to recognize all entities and the corresponding relations. We evaluate our proposed method on the widely-adopted Visual Genome dataset, and the results demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our model. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. Core influence mechanism on vertex-cover problem through leaf-removal-core breaking

Leaf-Removal process has been widely researched and applied in many mathematical and physical fields to help understand the complex systems, and a lot of problems including the minimal vertex-cover are deeply related to this process and the Leaf-Removal cores. In this paper, based on the structural features of the Leaf-Removal cores, a method named Core Influence is proposed to break the graphs into No-Leaf-Removal-Core ones, which takes advantages of identifying some significant nodes by localized and greedy strategy. By decomposing the minimal vertex-cover problem into the Leaf-Removal cores breaking process and maximal matching of the remained graphs, it is proved that any minimal vertex-covers of the whole graph can be located into these two processes, of which the latter one is a P problem, and the best boundary is achieved at the transition point. Compared with other node importance indices, the Core Influence method could break down the Leaf-Removal cores much faster and get the no-core graphs by removing fewer nodes from the graphs. Also, the vertex-cover numbers resulted from this method are lower than existing node importance measurements, and compared with the exact minimal vertex-cover numbers, this method performs appropriate accuracy and stability at different scales.
