Web services have been integrated with all walks of life in society. Abnormalities in the network and services seriously affect user experience and company revenue. The system log records various information of the system, and the information-rich log messages usually show different anomalies. It is particularly important to accurately and timely identify the anomalies of the log messages and classify the anomalies. In addition, most of the current existing work only detects anomalies and does not classify them, and a few existing works require anomaly labels to classify anomalies. Based on these potential challenges, we propose an unsupervised hypersphere-based log message anomaly detection and classification method, LogADCH. We use the hypersphere loss function to let the BERT model learn compact representations of log messages and perform anomaly detection. Finally, K-Means clustering is performed on the semantic feature vectors detected as anomalies to form clusters of different types of anomalies. Compared with other works, LogADCH further classifies the abnormal types after detecting the abnormal logs, helping the operation and maintenance personnel to quickly locate the fault. We compare our method with other methods on two public datasets, and the experimental results show that LogADCH has superior performance in anomaly detection as well as anomaly classification.

DFGET: Displacement-Field Assisted Graph Energy Transmitter for Gland Instance Segmentation

Gland instance segmentation is an essential but challenging task in the diagnosis and treatment of adenocarcinoma. The existing models usually achieve gland instance segmentation through multi-task learning and boundary loss constraint. However, how to deal with the problems of gland adhesion and inaccurate boundary in segmenting the complex samples remains a challenge. In this work, we propose a displacement-field assisted graph energy transmitter (DFGET) framework to solve these problems. Specifically, a novel message passing manner based on anisotropic diffusion is developed to update the node features, which can distinguish the isomorphic graphs and improve the expressivity of graph nodes for complex samples. Using such graph framework, the gland semantic segmentation map and the displacement field (DF) of the graph nodes are estimated with two graph network branches. With the constraint of DF, a graph cluster module based on diffusion theory is presented to improve the intra-class feature consistency and inter-class feature discrepancy, as well as to separate the adherent glands from the semantic segmentation maps. Extensive comparison and ablation experiments on the GlaS dataset demonstrate the superiority of DFGET and effectiveness of the proposed anisotropic message passing manner and clustering method. Compared to the best comparative model, DFGET increases the object-Dice and object-F1 score by 2.5% and 3.4% respectively, while decreases the object-HD by 32.4%, achieving state-of-the-art performance. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

Facial expression recognition is the ability to interpret human feelings from facial features. Teachers can use it to visualize the state of emotion and estimate students' learning effects to take corresponding intervention strategies to improve teaching. The current technology has shortcomings such as network performance degradation and feature information loss, which cannot meet the needs of sentiment analysis of student feedback. Therefore, RFMNet, a novel network model based on deep learning theory, is proposed in this paper. Featuring higher extraction ability, it is conducive to accurately analysing students' expressions. First of all, this model introduces a relation-aware global attention (RGA) module to better integrate the more discriminative expression features in the image and achieve more refined sentiment analysis. Second, the Mish activation function and the focal loss function are employed. The Mish activation function is introduced to avoid disappearing feature information due to neuron deactivation when the ReLU gradient is 0. The model achieves an average recognition accuracy of 89.62%, as confirmed through a sequence of trials conducted on the public dataset FERPlus. The model helps achieve intelligent processing of teaching information and obtaining real-time feedback by detecting, extracting, and analysing the students' facial expressions.

Recent advancements in large language models (LLMs) have significantly improved performance in natural language processing tasks. However, their ability to generalize to dynamic, unseen tasks, particularly in numerical reasoning, remains a challenge. Existing benchmarks mainly evaluate LLMs on problems with predefined optimal solutions, which may not align with real-world scenarios where clear answers are absent. To bridge this gap, we design the Agent Trading Arena, a virtual numerical game simulating complex economic systems through zero-sum games, where agents invest in stock portfolios. Our experiments reveal that LLMs, including GPT-4o, struggle with algebraic reasoning when dealing with plain-text stock data, often focusing on local details rather than global trends. In contrast, LLMs perform significantly better with geometric reasoning when presented with visual data, such as scatter plots or K-line charts, suggesting that visual representations enhance numerical reasoning. This capability is further improved by incorporating the reflection module, which aids in the analysis and interpretation of complex data. We validate our findings on NASDAQ STOCK dataset, where LLMs demonstrate stronger reasoning with visual data compared to text. Increasingly complex systems contain large numbers of devices that generate great number of multivariate time series that are monitored and recorded. For anomaly detection of these complex time series, deep learning technology is often used to build a learning model for anomaly detection. The method based on deep learning usually takes a long time to train data in practice, and the online service system is deployed or changed very frequently, which makes the online service system need to frequently spend a lot of time updating the anomaly detection model. To overcome this challenge, this paper proposes a fast multivariate time series anomaly detection (FMAD) approach based on matrix completion. After sampling the primitive low-rank matrix, FMAD uses matrix completion to reconstruct the original low-rank matrix to detect anomalies in multivariate time series. We conducted related experimental analysis and discussion. The experimental results on three real data sets show that FMAD has improved the problem of too long model training time and improved the detection efficiency.

—A novel wideband high-selectivity substrate-integrated-waveguide (SIW) filtering antenna with controllable radiation nulls is proposed. This antenna is composed of a two-layered SIW resonator, two radiating slots on the top layer, and two coupling slots on the middle layer. A vertical SMA connector is located at the bottom and feeds two SIW cavities simultaneously. By adjusting the parameters of these slots, three radiation nulls will be achieved, and two radiation nulls can be easily controlled. SpreadFGL: Edge-Client Collaborative Federated Graph Learning with Adaptive Neighbor Generation

Federated Graph Learning (FGL) has garnered widespread attention by enabling collaborative training on multiple clients for semi-supervised classification tasks. However, most existing FGL studies do not well consider the missing inter-client topology information in real-world scenarios, causing insufficient feature aggregation of multi-hop neighbor clients during model training. Moreover, the classic FGL commonly adopts the FedAvg but neglects the high training costs when the number of clients expands, resulting in the overload of a single edge server. To address these important challenges, we propose a novel FGL framework, named SpreadFGL, to promote the information flow in edge-client collaboration and extract more generalized potential relationships between clients. In SpreadFGL, an adaptive graph imputation generator incorporated with a versatile assessor is first designed to exploit the potential links between subgraphs, without sharing raw data. Next, a new negative sampling mechanism is developed to make SpreadFGL concentrate on more refined information in downstream tasks. To facilitate load balancing at the edge layer, SpreadFGL follows a distributed training manner that enables fast model convergence. Using real-world testbed and benchmark graph datasets, extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed SpreadFGL. The accuracy of kernel estimation is critical to the performance of blind super-resolution (SR). Traditional kernel estimation methods usually use L1 or L2 loss function to minimize the difference between the estimated kernel and the ground-truth kernel. This tends to make the estimated kernel converge towards the average of all possible kernels, deviating from the ground-truth kernel. To improve the performance of kernel estimation, this paper proposes an uncertainty loss for training a kernel estimation network, focusing on regions with high uncertainty (variance) in the kernel. In addition, a texture-aware SR network is proposed that utilizes the Gumbel Softmax trick to pay more attention to the complex regions of the image texture, thus improving the SR performance. Extensive experiments on synthetic datasets show that our approach achieves promising performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Community detection is widely used in network analysis, which seeks to divide network nodes into distinct communities based on the topology structure and attribute information of the network. Due to its interpretability, nonnegative matrix factorization becomes an essential method for community detection. However, it decomposes the adjacency matrix and attribute matrix separately, which do not tightly incorporate topology and attributes. And in the problem of division inconsistency based on topology and attributes caused by the mismatch between the topology similarity and attribute similarity of paired nodes, it ignores the difference in the matching degree of each attribute and each node. In this paper, we propose a nonnegative matrix factorization algorithm for community detection (MTACD) based on the matching degree between topology and attribute. First, we employ an attribute embedding mechanism to enhance the node-attribute relationship. Second, we design an attribute matching degree and a node topology-and-attribute matching degree in order to resolve the mismatch between topology and attribute similarity. Knowledge distillation (KD) has recently gained great success in the field of object detection. By transferring the knowledge of the spatial or channel domain from the teacher model to the student model, it allows for a more compact representation with minimal performance loss. Despite this progress, existing KD methods typically treat knowledge from spatial or channel domains independently, ignoring the exploitation of the mutual relationship between these domains. In this work, we first explore the connection between spatial and channel domains and find there exists a strong correlation between them, i.e. the salient channels tend to contain significant object regions in the spatial domain. Motivated by this observation, we propose DCSF-KD, a novel Dynamic Channel-wise Spatial Feature Knowledge Distillation framework for object detection by fully exploiting both spatial and channel knowledge. Specifically, we introduce channel-wise spatial feature distillation and global channel attention distillation, using information from both domains to improve the accuracy of the student network. Experiments demonstrate that our DCSF-KD outperforms existing detection methods on both homogeneous and heterogeneous teacher-student network pairs. For example, when using the MaskRCNN-Swin detector as the teacher, and based on RetinaNet and FCOS with ResNet-50 on MS COCO, our DCSF-KD can achieve 41.9% and 44.1% mAP, respectively. © 2025, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (***).
