The evaluation of programming course instruction is a key component of educational management. However, relying solely on supervising teachers for assessment poses challenges in comprehensive evaluation and providing feedback on students' classroom learning status. Additionally, a significant amount of monitoring video data from programming courses in Chinese universities remains underutilized. To address these challenges, this paper combines traditional educational management with artificial intelligence and proposes an intelligent algorithm for detecting students' learning status in programming courses. We first establish a dual YOLO network model to analyze students' postures and screen content in programming classroom monitoring videos, thereby identifying their behaviors. Subsequently, we develop a Programming Classroom Student Behavior Recognition System (PCSBS) that integrates data collection, student behavior detection, and result visualization functionalities. Experimental results demonstrate that the system can accurately provide feedback on students' programming course learning status, offering graded results that assist supervising teachers in their classroom instructional evaluation tasks to enhance educational management efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.

Identifying Outliers in Astronomical Images with Unsupervised Machine Learning

Astronomical outliers,such as unusual,rare or unknown types of astronomical objects or phenomena,constantly lead to the discovery of genuinely unforeseen knowledge in *** unpredictable outliers will be uncovered in principle with the increment of the coverage and quality of upcoming survey ***,it is a severe challenge to mine rare and unexpected targets from enormous data with human inspection due to a significant *** learning is also unsuitable for this purpose because designing proper training sets for unanticipated signals is *** by these challenges,we adopt unsupervised machine learning approaches to identify outliers in the data of galaxy images to explore the paths for detecting astronomical *** comparison,we construct three methods,which are built upon the k-nearest neighbors(KNN),Convolutional Auto-Encoder(CAE)+KNN,and CAE+KNN+Attention Mechanism(att CAE_KNN)*** sets are created based on the Galaxy Zoo image data published online to evaluate the performance of the above *** show that att CAE_KNN achieves the best recall(78%),which is 53%higher than the classical KNN method and 22%higher than CAE+*** efficiency of att CAE_KNN(10 minutes)is also superior to KNN(4 h)and equal to CAE+KNN(10 minutes)for accomplishing the same ***,we believe that it is feasible to detect astronomical outliers in the data of galaxy images in an unsupervised ***,we will apply att CAE_KNN to available survey data sets to assess its applicability and reliability.

G-NeRF: Geometry-enhanced Novel View Synthesis from Single-View Images

Novel view synthesis aims to generate new view images of a given view image collection. Recent attempts address this problem relying on 3D geometry priors (e.g., shapes, sizes, and positions) learned from multi-view images. However, such methods encounter the following limitations: 1) they require a set of multi-view images as training data for a specific scene (e.g., face, car or chair), which is often unavailable in many real-world scenarios;2) they fail to extract the geometry priors from single-view images due to the lack of multi-view supervision. In this paper, we propose a Geometry-enhanced NeRF (G-NeRF), which seeks to enhance the geometry priors by a geometry-guided multi-view synthesis approach, followed by a depth-aware training. In the synthesis process, inspired that existing 3D GAN models can unconditionally synthesize high-fidelity multi-view images, we seek to adopt off-the-shelf 3D GAN models, such as EG3D, as a free source to provide geometry priors through synthesizing multi-view data. Simultaneously, to further improve the geometry quality of the synthetic data, we introduce a truncation method to effectively sample latent codes within 3D GAN models. To tackle the absence of multi-view supervision for single-view images, we design the depth-aware training approach, incorporating a depth-aware discriminator to guide geometry priors through depth maps. Experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method in terms of both qualitative and quantitative results. © 2024, CC BY.

Exploring the Robustness: Hierarchical Federated Learning Framework for Object Detection of UAV Cluster

The deployment of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) cluster is an available solution for object detection missions. In the harsh environment, UAV cluster could suffer from some significant threats (e.g., forest fire hazards, electromagnetic interference, and ground-to-air attacks), which could lead to the destruction of UAVs and loss of data. To this end, we propose a Hierarchical Federated Learning Framework for Object Detection (HFL-OD) to enhance the robustness of UAV cluster conducting object detection missions. In HFL-OD, UAVs are grouped through a Three-Dimensional (3D) graph coloring method, and an intragroup backup mechanism is provided to prevent the data loss caused by the destruction of UAVs. Besides, a dynamic server selection mechanism deals with the potential destruction of servers (cluster server and group servers) by adaptively reassigning the server roles. To further improve the robustness and mission efficiency of UAV cluster, a twotier federated learning framework is introduced to make a proper trade-off between object detection accuracy and communication/computational overhead. This framework is built on the concept of hierarchical federated learning by implementing both intragroup parameter aggregation and global parameter aggregation. Extensive simulations and comparisons demonstrate the superior performance of our proposed HFL-OD, i.e., the robustness of UAV cluster conducting object detection missions can be significantly improved, and the communication/computational overhead is effectively reduced. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

The goal of Synthetic Speech Detection (SSD) is to detect spoofing speech synthesized by text-to-speech and voice conversion. Most existing SSD methods focus only on mining frequency-wise dependency by customizing frequency-aggregation modules in SSD models. However, the instance-wise dependency is usually under-explored, which is critical for identifying the synthetic speech from a global view. In this paper, we propose a novel model-agnostic training strategy for SSD that exploits both local (frequency-wise) and global (instance-wise) contexts, which do not rely on a customized architecture and can be flexibly integrated into previous SSD models. Specifically, we propose an inter-frequency correlation module to capture the local context by reconstructing the masked frequency information from the unmasked frequency context. Meanwhile, an inter-instance correlation module is performed to explore the global context among different instances by promoting intra-class compactness and inter-class dispersion in the latent space. These two complementary modules operate from distinct contextual perspectives, leading to improvements in SSD performance. Extensive experiments show that our method significantly improves the performance of two state-of-the-art models on the 2019 dataset and 2021 dataset of ASVspoof. © 2024 Z. Wang, L. Gao, J. Chain-of-thought distillation is a powerful technique for transferring reasoning abilities from large language models (LLMs) to smaller student models. Previous methods typically require the student to mimic the step-by-step rationale produced by LLMs, often facing the following challenges: (i) Tokens within a rationale vary in significance, and treating them equally may fail to accurately mimic keypoint tokens, leading to reasoning errors. (ii) They usually distill knowledge by consistently predicting all the steps in a rationale, which falls short in distinguishing the learning order of step generation. This diverges from the human cognitive progression of starting with easy tasks and advancing to harder ones, resulting in sub-optimal outcomes. To this end, we propose a unified framework, called KPOD, to address these issues. Specifically, we propose a token weighting module utilizing mask learning to encourage accurate mimicry of keypoint tokens by the student during distillation. Besides, we develop an in-rationale progressive distillation strategy, starting with training the student to generate the final reasoning steps and gradually extending to cover the entire rationale. To accomplish this, a weighted token generation loss is proposed to assess step reasoning difficulty, and a value function is devised to schedule the progressive distillation by considering both step difficulty and question diversity. Extensive experiments on four reasoning benchmarks illustrate our KPOD outperforms previous methods by a large margin. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper presents a trajectory tracking algorithm designed for autonomous quadrotors to navigate complex dy-namic environments that is resilient to collision disturbances. Since it combines Model Predictive Contouring Control (MPCC) with the capabilities of neural networks, our method is named MPCC Integrated with Neural Augmentation (MINA). By equip-ping the quadrotor with PVDF piezoelectric sensors, we achieve real-time perception of collision forces and utilize S4D-Conv Adaptive Net Architecture (SANA) for state computation, a network that integrates the advantages of S4D and convolutional kernels to enhance the accuracy of state predictions. We incorporate the predicted results into the MPCC framework to optimize the thrust output of the quadrotor for the next time step, ensuring precise trajectory tracking. Experimental validation demonstrates the reliability and effectiveness of our algorithm, providing an innovative solution for autonomous flight and trajectory tracking of quadrotors in complex dynamic environments. © 2025 IEEE.

Existing methods for asymmetric image retrieval employ a rigid pairwise similarity constraint between the query network and the larger gallery network. However, these one-to-one constraint approaches often fail to maintain retrieval order consistency, especially when the query network has limited representational capacity. To overcome this problem, we introduce the Decoupled Differential Distillation (D3still) framework. This framework shifts from absolute one-to-one supervision to optimizing the relational differences in pairwise similarities produced by the query and gallery networks, thereby preserving a consistent retrieval order across both networks. Our method involves computing a pairwise similarity differential matrix within the gallery domain, which is then decomposed into three components: feature representation knowledge, inconsistent pairwise similarity differential knowledge, and consistent pairwise similarity differential knowledge. This strategic decomposition aligns the retrieval ranking of the query network with the gallery network effectively. Extensive experiments on various bench-mark datasets reveal that D3still surpasses state-of-the-art methods in asymmetric image retrieval. Code is available at https://***/SCY-X/D3still.
