Mitochondria are subcellular organelles existing in most eukaryotic organisms. They have a pivotal role in lots of bio-chemical processes for cells. Proteins in different compartments of mitochondria have their transport routes. Locating proteins in mitochondria can provide a solid foundation for mitochondrial pathologies. So far, there have been several computational methods for solving the issue. However, their accuracy is so low that they do not identify the localization precisely. We develop an unsupervised learning model to represent mitochondrial proteins as n-dimensional vectors, called sequence embedding, which can learn the global and context information from mitochondrial proteins. We design a new model, called Sub-Loc, to predict the sub-mitochondrial localization of proteins using the SVM classifier and the sequence embedding method. The sequence embedding method and the Sub-Loc are tested by experiments. Experimental results show the sequence embedding method remarkably enhances the performance of prediction for sub-mitochondrial localization of proteins compared with other feature representations. The Sub-Loc outperforms other approaches for predicting sub-mitochondrial localization of proteins. © 2022 IEEE.

Condition-based video generation aims to create video content based on given information that describes specific subjects. However, most existing works can only utilize a single condition to guide the denoising process, thereby limiting their applicability to specific scenarios. Although some works attempt to accommodate multiple conditions within one framework, they often require multiple encoders, leading to inefficiencies in integrating multi-condition features. In this work, we present a framework that, with the support of the proposed Unified Adapter (UniAdapter), enables simultaneous multi-condition control of video generation within a single model. To effectively merge these conditions, we propose a novel Probabilistic Multi-condition Concatenator (PMC) module, which employs a unified encoder to accommodate multiple conditions and concatenate condition features at the pixel level to achieve fine-grained control. Following the PMC module, we employ 2D down-sampling blocks to refine features for injection into the Video Diffusion Model (VDM). Moreover, our UniAdapter is designed to be model-agnostic and compatible with any U-Net-based VDM, offering a versatile solution for improving video generation quality. Experimental results on public benchmarks UCF-101 and MSR-VTT show that our method achieves superior results in both quantitative and qualitative evaluations. © 2025 IEEE.

In satellite communications, global navigation satellite systems(GNSS) and other important space activities, the value of total electron content (TEC) in the ionosphere directly affects the size of ionospheric delay. Achieving accurate prediction of ionospheric total electron content through modeling can effectively improve the reliability and accuracy of GNSS positioning. Considering the high prediction accuracy of long short-term memory neural network (LSTM) and the fast training speed of gated recurrent unit network (GRU), but it is easy to fall into the local optimum, while the width learning system(BLS) can effectively avoid this drawback. Therefore, this paper proposes a model for predicting the total electron content of the ionosphere, which consists of a broad learning system, an LSTM network and a GRU networks. Six parameters of TEC, geomagnetic index Dst, Kp, Ap, solar activity index F10.7, and hour (HD) are selected as input features from the observed data to predict the variation of the total ionospheric electron content. The results generate prediction maps of the total ionospheric electron content and are compared with empirical models and conventional neural network models at different times and solar activity conditions. The experimental results show that the root mean square error (RMSE) of the prediction results of this BLS-LSTM-GRU model is decreased by 23.07%, 17.48% and 9.46% compared with the IRI-2016, NeQuick and CNN-LSTM prediction models, respectively, with higher prediction accuracy. © 2024, Aerospace Information Research Institute.

Driven by the latest advances in industrial artificial intelligence, automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) have been widely used for material handling in flexible workshops. In the pursuit of agile and flexible production transportation planning, the ability to handle unpredictable and dynamic events is becoming increasingly important. In order to achieve this real-time dynamic control, this study proposes a distributed multi-agent architecture to solve the dynamic Multi-AGVs scheduling problem. Double Deep Q-Network algorithm is used to train the scheduling agent, capture the relationship between production transportation operation information and scheduling goals, and make real-time scheduling decisions for flexible jobs with constant arrival intervals. Specialized state, action, and reward representations are proposed to handle variable specifications of dynamic scheduling problems. The performance of this method under different scene scales was verified through simulation studies. Numerical results show that compared with existing traditional heuristic scheduling strategies, this method not only has superior performance, but also its advantages persist even if the manufacturing system job scale changes.

There is a growing interest to use Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) inversed PWV for heavy rainfall prediction. When heavy rainfall occurs, it requires the atmosphere to contain sufficient water vapour and undergo strong upward motion. However, existing models using GNSS-PWV for heavy rainfall prediction have not accounted for the effect of the complex motion of water vapour. In this paper, an hourly heavy rainfall prediction model using sample entropy derived from GNSS-PWV and PSO-SVM is proposed. The sample entropy of GNSS-PWV is used to measure the complexity of the water vapour movement process before heavy rainfall occurs. Meanwhile, combining GNSS-PWV time domain features and co-located meteorological data, the occurrence of hourly heavy rainfall events is predicted by support vector machine optimized with particle swarm. To verify the validity and feasibility of the proposed algorithm, Hong Kong's HKSC station in Sham Shui Po is used for the model to train and test. The result shows that probability of detection, false alarm rate and critical success index of the proposed algorithm in this paper have significantly improved over other heavy rainfall prediction models. © 2024, Aerospace Information Research Institute.

In clinical imaging, medical segmentation networks typically require continually adapting to new data from multiple sites over time, as aggregating all data for learning at once can be impractical due to storage limitations and privacy concerns. However, existing methods basically overlook domain-specific characteristics and fall short of adequately capturing domain-invariant knowledge during continual learning, leading to undesired catastrophic forgetting of previous sites and inferior generalization to new sites. To tackle this issue, this paper introduces FR2Seg, to sufficiently exploit both domain-specific and domain-invariant knowledge for efficient continual learning with the aid of low-frequency cues. For the former aspect, we propose a Fourier style replay module to synthesize pseudo images with old-site styles for data augmentation during new-site training, effectively preventing catastrophic forgetting without sacrificing data privacy. For the latter, we present a Fourier adaptive consistency regularization to identify and constrain the optimization of domain-invariant parameters with explicit awareness of knowledge transferability across sites, ensuring excellent generalizability to new sites. Experimental results on two public datasets confirm our method's superiority over existing state-of-the-art continual learning methods. Previous Knowledge Distillation based efficient image retrieval methods employ a lightweight network as the student model for fast inference. However, the lightweight student model lacks adequate representation capacity for effective knowledge imitation during the most critical early training period, causing final performance degeneration. To tackle this issue, we propose a Capacity Dynamic Distillation framework, which constructs a student model with editable representation capacity. Specifically, the employed student model is initially a heavy model to fruitfully learn distilled knowledge in the early training epochs, and the student model is gradually compressed during the training. To dynamically adjust the model capacity, our dynamic framework inserts a learnable convolutional layer within each residual block in the student model as the channel importance indicator. The indicator is optimized simultaneously by the image retrieval loss and the compression loss, and a retrieval-guided gradient resetting mechanism is proposed to release the gradient conflict. Extensive experiments show that our method has superior inference speed and accuracy, e.g., on the VeRi-776 dataset, given the ResNet101 as a teacher, our method saves 67.13% model parameters and 65.67% FLOPs without sacrificing accuracy. The zenith tropospheric delay (ZTD) obtained by global navigation satellite system (GNSS) atmospheric sounding is a pivotal data source for water vapor monitoring. Meteorological changes in Antarctica play an important role in analysis of the global climate, but factors such as complex climatic conditions can limit the collection of meteorological data needed for ZTD retrieval. Therefore, it is necessary to establish high-precision ZTD models that do not rely on measured meteorological data. The existing global pressure and temperature 3 (GPT3) model has limited ability to capture complex weather variations and cannot obtain high-precision GPT3_ZTD. To address the above issues, this research proposes a high-precision ZTD model through using temporal convolutional network (TCN) for improving the hourly global pressure and temperature 2 (HGPT2) model. The HGTP2 model based on Fourier analysis and the time-segmentation concept can consider the linear trend of climate variations, simultaneously the TCN is introduced to simulate the long-term temporal dependence of HGPT2_ZTD, so as to achieve the goal of obtaining high-precision ZTD without relying on measured meteorological data. The experimental results show that the precision of TCN_ZTD obtained from the proposed model is higher than GPT3_ZTD and HGPT2_ZTD when using the GNSS_ZTD observations obtained from 35 stations in Antarctica as a reference, and the improvement of the model is obvious. © 2024, Aerospace Information Research Institute.

Low-light image enhancement aims to improve the illumination intensity while restoring color information. Despite recent advancements using deep learning methods, they still struggle with over or under-exposure in complex lighting scenes and poor color recovery in dark regions. To address these drawbacks, we propose a novel pipeline (called LRCR-Net) to perform Light Restoration and Color Refinement in a coarse-to-fine manner. In the coarse step, we focus on improving the illumination adaptively while avoiding inappropriate enhancement in the brighter or darker regions. This is achieved by introducing a region-calibrated residual block (RCRB) that balances local and global dependencies among different image regions. In the fine step, we aim to retouch the color of the images enhanced in the coarse step. To achieve this goal, we propose learnable image processing operators (LIPOs), including contrast and saturation operators, to refine the color according to the input images' color and contrast information. The final result is an image with proper illumination and rich color. Experiments on four benchmark datasets (NASA, LIME, MEF, and NPE) show that our model outperforms state-of-the-art methods.

Aiming at the network security problem of the blockchain system, the game model based on Markov is proposed. The model perceives the network security situation of the blockchain system, accurately and comprehensively evaluates the current security status of the system through clustering screening and attack game, dynamically evaluates the security situation of the system, and establishes an attack transfer network and the best reinforcement scheme. The experiment shows that the Markov game model based on 51% double spend attack can evaluate and predict the current and future security status of the blockchain system, and can reduce the asset loss caused by blockchain attacks to a certain extent. © 2022 IEEE.
