Encouraging and astonishing developments have recently been achieved in image-based diagnostic *** medical care and imaging technology are becoming increasingly ***,the current diagnosis pattern of signal to image to knowledge inevitably leads to information distortion and noise introduction in the procedure of image reconstruction(from signal to image).Artificial intelligence(AI)technologies that can mine knowledge from vast amounts of data offer opportunities to disrupt established *** this prospective study,for the first time,we develop an AI-based signal-toknowledge diagnostic scheme for lung nodule classification directly from the computed tomography(CT)raw data(the signal).We find that the raw data achieves almost comparable performance with CT,indicating that it is possible to diagnose diseases without reconstructing ***,the incorporation of raw data through three common convolutional network structures greatly improves the performance of the CT models in all cohorts(with a gain ranging from 0.01 to 0.12),demonstrating that raw data contains diagnostic information that CT does not *** results break new ground and demonstrate the potential for direct signal-to-knowledge domain analysis.

Thermal covert channel (TCC) attack poses severe threat to many-core systems, which leaks sensitive data secretly by using heat transfer as the communication media. There are a few countermeasures that use either dynamic voltage frequency scaling (DVFS) or noise jamming. The DVFS based countermeasure scales the V/F levels down so that the receiver cannot correctly decode the signal. In a noise jamming based countermeasure, a defender core emits thermal noise with the same transmission frequency of the signal to jam the thermal covert channel transmission. However these approaches suffer from degraded system performance or increased power consumption. In this paper, we observed that thermal signal decays fast with respect to the distance between the transmitter and receiver cores/threads in thermal covert channels. Therefore, a task migration based countermeasure is proposed to separate the transmitter and receiver to distant cores such that the thermal covert channel signals decay and the thermal covert channel transmission is blocked. Experimental results show that the packet error rate of thermal covert channels with the proposed countermeasure escalates to 84%, effectively blocking thermal covert channel transmission. Besides, the proposed countermeasure also reduces power consumption by 39.6% and 57.3% compared to two existing countermeasures, and reduces execution time by 68.5% and 42.2% compared to two existing countermeasures. Therefore, the proposed countermeasure is a lightweight but effective defense approach against thermal covert channel.

The inherent complexity of Wi-Fi signals makes video-aided Wi-Fi 3D pose estimation difficult. The challenges include the limited generalizability of the task across diverse environments, its significant signal heterogeneity, and its inadequate ability to analyze local and geometric information. To overcome these challenges, we introduce WiViPose, a video-aided Wi-Fi framework for 3D pose estimation, which attains enhanced cross-environment generalization through cross-layer optimization. Bilinear temporal-spectral fusion (BTSF) is initially used to fuse the time-domain and frequency-domain features derived from Wi-Fi. Video features are derived from a multiresolution convolutional pose machine and enhanced by local self-attention. Cross-modality data fusion is facilitated through an attention-based transformer, with the process further refined under a supervisory mechanism. WiViPose demonstrates effectiveness by achieving an average percentage of correct keypoints (PCK)@50 of 91.01% across three typical indoor environments. © 2025 IEEE.

Stable and Feature Decoupled of Deep Mutual Information Maximization Based on Wasserstein Distance

Deep learning techniques usually require large amounts of expensive labeled data to train networks, and the extracted deep representations are usually mixed with multiple attributes having uninterpretability, which limits the application and development of deep learning techniques. Therefore, it is crucial to investigate the stability of training models by unsupervised learning methods and to learn feature decoupled representations. Although the method based on depth mutual information maximization(Deep InfoMax or DIM) has achieved good results in the field of computer vision, it is extremely prone to "gradient explosion" or "gradient disappearance", which makes the training model unstable. At the same time, it is difficult to decouple the features learned by the encoder. In order to solve these problems, we stable and feature decoupled of deep mutual information maximization based on Wasserstein distance, which we call the method called WDIM. The method first addresses the instability of the model trained by the DIM method and proposes to measure the distance between the encoder output and the prior distribution based on the Wasserstein distance, which is a good guide to the stability of the model training. Second, to address the problem that the features learned by the encoder are difficult to be decoupled, the mutual information between the features learned by the hidden layer of the encoder and the intermediate layer is required to be minimized during the training of the encoder so that the features learned by each filter are as uncorrelated as possible to achieve feature decoupling. Finally, the WDIM method is validated on the CIFAR-10, CIFAR-100, STL-10, and FashionMNIST datasets. Experiments show that our proposed WDIM method is more stable for model training, faster model convergence, and more significant feature decoupling. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Urban rail transit (URT) is vulnerable to natural disasters and social emergencies including fire, storm and epidemic (such as COVID-19), and real-time origin-destination (OD) flow prediction provides URT operators with important information to ensure the safety of URT system. However, hindered by the high dimensionality of OD flow and the lack of supportive information reflecting the real-time passenger flow changes, study in this area is at the beginning stage. A novel model consisting of two stages is proposed for OD flow prediction. The first stage predicts the inflows of all stations by Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) in real time, where the dimension is reduced compared with predicting OD flows directly. In the second stage, the notion of separation rate, namely, the proportion of inbound passengers bounding for another station, is estimated. Finally, The OD flow is predicted by multiplying the inflow and separation rate. Experiments based on Hangzhou Metro dataset show the proposed model outperforms the contrast model in weighted mean average error (WMAE) and weighted mean square error (WMSE). Results also suggest that the proposed prediction model performs better on weekdays than on weekends, and with greater accuracy on larger OD flows. © 2000-2011 IEEE.

Studies have shown that learning personal stories could help provide individualized eldercare services. However, personal stories are often disordered because of the scattered collection, including informal interviews or daily interactions, which brings difficulties in acquiring valuable information quickly. One solution to this problem is to extract events from personal stories and automatically organize them in chronological order. Events extracted by current methods from social media or news corpus are mainly organized in a linear structure. These works usually focus on the event time and ignore the consistency of event contents when organizing events. This paper aims to organize events into a tree structure based on an event network, with stem nodes representing key event topics and branch nodes representing detailed events. Social workers or caregivers can clarify the life experience of the older adults quickly through the event tree and have a preliminary understanding of them. The experiments show that the event tree generated by our method has a better performance in consistency than current event organization methods. A survey study shows that our method achieves the highest logical coherence for the event tree branches compared with other algorithms. © 2022, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

ConsistencyDet: A Robust Object Detector with a Denoising Paradigm of Consistency Model

Object detection, a quintessential task in the realm of perceptual computing, can be tackled using a generative methodology. In the present study, we introduce a novel framework designed to articulate object detection as a denoising diffusion process, which operates on the perturbed bounding boxes of annotated entities. This framework, termed ConsistencyDet, leverages an innovative denoising concept known as the Consistency Model. The hallmark of this model is its self-consistency feature, which empowers the model to map distorted information from any temporal stage back to its pristine state, thereby realizing a "one-step denoising" mechanism. Such an attribute markedly elevates the operational efficiency of the model, setting it apart from the conventional Diffusion Model. Throughout the training phase, ConsistencyDet initiates the diffusion sequence with noise-infused boxes derived from the ground-truth annotations and conditions the model to perform the denoising task. Subsequently, in the inference stage, the model employs a denoising sampling strategy that commences with bounding boxes randomly sampled from a normal distribution. Through iterative refinement, the model transforms an assortment of arbitrarily generated boxes into definitive detections. Comprehensive evaluations employing standard benchmarks, such as MS-COCO and LVIS, corroborate that ConsistencyDet surpasses other leading-edge detectors in performance metrics. Graph neural networks (GNNs) have gained significant attention and have been applied in various domain tasks. Currently, numerous pooling approaches have been proposed to aggregate node features and obtain node embeddings. However, current GNNs are almost black-box models that typically use a flat or single pooling step to aggregate nodes by only considering the similarity between nodes within the cluster. These approaches ignore the influence of relationships within and between clusters. To address this issue, we propose a novel multi-granular pooling method to aggregate nodes by simultaneously considering density and relationships among nodes and clusters. This method allows to obtain multi-granular node embedding clusters. The clusters in the current layer are built upon the previous layer, and these clusters change from fine to coarse as the number of clusters decreases, which is achieved by using multi-granular pooling (MgrPool for short). Additionally, the node representation of each layer is established through the ratio of node distance within clusters to that of between clusters. Finally, we conduct several experiments on node and graph classification tasks by this pooling approach. The results demonstrate that our GNN-MgrPool model outperforms the state-of-the-art similar algorithms and largely improves the interpretability of the learning process. © 2023, The Authors. Achieving Enhanced Bi-Linear Attention Network for Teaching Manner Analysis over Edge Cloud-assisted AIoT: Voice-Body Coordination Perspective

Edge computing, an advanced extension of cloud computing, provides superior computational capabilities and lowlatency processing at the network edge, facilitating its availability for real-time data analysis in resource-limited settings. When applied to the analysis of teaching methodologies, edge computing enables the seamless integration of vocal and physical cues, facilitating collaborative, dynamic, and real-time evaluations of teaching quality. However, the inherent complexity of human perception and multimodal interactions impose great challenges to the analysis of these aspects in Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT). This paper introduces an innovative mathematical model and a measurement index specifically designed to assess changes in voice-body coordination over time. To achieve this, we propose a cloud-enabled enhanced Bi-Linear Attention Network incorporating entropy and Fourier transforms (BAN-E-FT), which leverages both temporal and frequencydomain features. Specifically, by harnessing the computational and storage capabilities of edge computing, BAN-E-FT facilitates distributed training, expedites large-scale data processing, and enhances model scalability, where entropy measures and Fourier transforms capture modality dynamics, enhancing BAN's fusion capabilities. Moreover, a conditional domain adversarial network is embedded to address regional teaching variations, improving model generalizability. We also verify the robustness of BAN-EFT with accuracy and convergence through convex optimization analysis. Experiments on the eNTERFACE'05 dataset demonstrate 81% accuracy in assessing teaching adaptability, while real-world test at Guizhou University confirms 78% accuracy when using BAN-E-FT, matching human expert assessments. © 2013 IEEE.
