In recent years, image recognition technology has been widely used in commodity recognition in smart containers and retail shelves. However, as the number of images received by smart terminals is increasing, more and more commodity categories need to be recognized. The image recognition technology adopted by the industry now requires a large number of images, and the modeling time is very long, which cannot meet the requirements for fast and accurate recognition. In this paper, we design and implement a fast-speed image recognition system that can cover all categories of retail commodities to solve the problem. We use DenseNet to strengthen the feature extraction of commodities collected by cameras. At the same time, we utilize a large number of commodity images accumulated in the production system as the primary database to achieve the effect of identifying all categories of commodity. The proposed system can quickly model new commodity images and new packaging of commodities through matching with the database. The experimental results show that the system can overcome the limitation of the number of images and shorten the modeling time. Furthermore, the accuracy rate is not affected in a complex environment.

Given the huge toll caused by natural disasters, it is critically important to develop an effective disaster management and emergency response technique. In this article, we investigate relationships between typhoon-related variables and emergency response from natural language (NL) reports. A major challenge is to exploit typhoon state information for typhoon contingency plan generation, especially from unstructured text data based on NL input. To tackle this issue, we propose a novel framework for learning typhoon Bayesian network structures (FLTB), which can extract typhoon state information from unstructured NL, mine inter-information causal relationships and then generate Bayesian networks. We first extract information about typhoon states through NL processing (NLP) techniques, and then analyze typhoon reports by designing heuristic rules to identify causal relationships between states. We leverage these features to improve the learned structures and provide user-interaction mechanisms to finalize Bayesian networks. We evaluate the performance of our framework on real-world typhoon datasets and develop the Bayesian networks based typhoon emergency response systems. © 2022, IFIP International Federation for Information Processing.

SolBERT: Advancing solidity smart contract similarity analysis via self-supervised pre-training and contrastive fine-tuning

Context: Reliable and effective similarity analysis for the smart contracts facilitates the maintenance and quality assurance of the smart contract ecosystem. However, existing signature-based methods and code representation learning-based methods suffer from limitations such as heavy-weight program analysis payloads or suboptimal contract encodings. Objective: This paper aims to design a fully unsupervised language model for better capturing the syntactic and semantic richness of Solidity code, and utilizes it for advancing the effectiveness of smart contract similarity analysis. Methods: Inspired by the impressive semantic learning capability of pre-trained language models (PLMs), we propose SolBERT, a PLM specifically tailored for enhancing Solidity smart contracts similarity detection. To ensure it produces high-quality encodings, SolBERT leverages BERT-style pre-training with the masked language modeling (MLM) and token type prediction (TTP) tasks applied on code-structure-aware token sequences derived from the contracts’ abstract syntax trees (ASTs) through structure-retaining tree linearization and light-weight normalization to learn a base model. On this basis, self-supervised contrastive fine-tuning and unsupervised whitening operations are further performed to optimize contract encoding generation. Results: Experiments are conducted on three contract similarity-related tasks, including contract clone detection, bug detection, and code clustering. The results indicate that SolBERT significantly outperforms state-of-the-art approaches with average absolute gains of 21.33% and 21.50% in terms of F1, and 17.78% and 26.60% in terms of accuracy for the clone detection and bug detection tasks, respectively;and an average absolute gain of 17.97% for code clustering task. With the increasing number of services and their homogenization, the use of Quality of Service (QoS) for recommendations has become necessary. However, existing QoS prediction solutions have limitations in solving the noise and label imbalance problems of dataset, which greatly limit the improvement of QoS prediction accuracy. In this paper, we propose FSNet that contains a feature distribution smoothing module and an improved W-Huber loss function. The feature distribution smoothing module mitigates the effect of noise problem by fitting potential Gaussian distribution of known features with a supervised feedforward neural network. W-Huber loss function mitigates the impact of label imbalance problem on QoS prediction by reweighting the two components of Huber loss function. We conduct extensive experiments on real large-scale QoS dataset, and the results demonstrate that the proposed FSNet method outperforms existing QoS prediction methods.

Modality-Aware Shot Relating and Comparing for Video Scene Detection

Video scene detection involves assessing whether each shot and its surroundings belong to the same scene. Achieving this requires meticulously correlating multi-modal cues, e.g. visual entity and place modalities, among shots and comparing semantic changes around each shot. However, most methods treat multi-modal semantics equally and do not examine contextual differences between the two sides of a shot, leading to sub-optimal detection performance. In this paper, we propose the Modality-Aware Shot Relating and Comparing approach (MASRC), which enables relating shots per their own characteristics of visual entity and place modalities, as well as comparing multi-shots similarities to have scene changes explicitly encoded. Specifically, to fully harness the potential of visual entity and place modalities in modeling shot relations, we mine long-term shot correlations from entity semantics while simultaneously revealing short-term shot correlations from place semantics. In this way, we can learn distinctive shot features that consolidate coherence within scenes and amplify distinguishability across scenes. Once equipped with distinctive shot features, we further encode the relations between preceding and succeeding shots of each target shot by similarity convolution, aiding in the identification of scene ending shots. We validate the broad applicability of the proposed components in MASRC. Extensive experimental results on public benchmark datasets demonstrate that the proposed MASRC significantly advances video scene detection. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

With the substantial increase in image transmission,the demand for image security is ***-like images can be obtained by conventional encryption schemes,and although the security of the images can be guaranteed,the noise-like images cannot be directly previewed and *** on the rank-then-encipher method,some researchers have designed a three-pixel exact thumbnail preserving encryption(TPE2)scheme,which can be applied to balance the security and availability of images,but this scheme has low encryption *** this paper,we introduce an efficient exact thumbnail preserving encryption ***,blocking and bit-plane decomposition operations are performed on the plaintext *** zigzag scrambling model is used to change the bit positions in the lower four bit ***,an operation is devised to permute the higher four bit planes,which is an extended application of the hidden Markov ***,according to the difference in bit weights in each bit plane,a bit-level weighted diffusion rule is established to generate an encrypted image and still maintain the same sum of pixels within the *** results show that the proposed scheme improves the encryption efficiency and can guarantee the availability of images while protecting their privacy.

In the application of RRT (Rapidly-exploring Random Trees) algorithm in obstacle avoidance path planning of redundant robot arms in high-dimensional space, the sampling area of random sampling points is large, the search time is long, the path twists and turns, and the redundant points are too many. In this paper, an efficient sampling RRT algorithm with adaptive step size and fast automatic convergence is proposed. Firstly, by adding the optimized gravity function, the step size of the extended tree is changed adaptively and the convergence is stronger. Secondly, the limited sampling of parent node area expansion is proposed to avoid useless point sampling and repeated point sampling, so that the utilization of sampling points is greatly improved. Finally, by changing the way of parent node reconnection and re-selection, the path tortuous degree is lower, the path planning cost and redundancy points are reduced, and MATLAB software is used to carry out the path planning simulation experiment. By comparing RRT, gravitational field RTT and RRT* algorithm, the improved RRT algorithm has significantly improved in distance, time and number of nodes. It has important engineering application value.

In recent years, research on graph representation learning within graph neural networks has made great progress. Among them, graph convolutional neural networks (GCN), which is based on spectral domain, have drawn great attention and become one of the mainstream graph embedding approaches. However, few-shot learning on graphs has little related work, as we know. Toward this problem, we propose a meta-learning method on graphs, FOML-GCN (First order meta-learning on GCN), aimed to be applied in various kinds of models of graph convolutional networks. As many common approaches in meta-learning, FOML-GCN involves two phases, meta-training and meta-testing. By learning the potential Knowledge from a small number of samples in existing classes during meta-training, our method enhances the ability in node classification of the base model by training within new few data that only appear in the meta-testing step. The experiment on two benchmark datasets shows that our FOML-GCN performs better than base GCN and other models of graph network in few-shot node classification tasks. © 2021 IEEE.

The core of recommendation models is estimating the probability that a user will like an item based on historical interactions. Existing collaborative filtering(CF) algorithms compute the likelihood by utilizing simple relationships between objects, e.g., user-item, item-item, or user-user. They always rely on a single type of object-object relationship, ignoring other useful relationship information in data. In this paper, we model an interaction between user and item as an edge and propose a novel CF framework, called learnable edge collaborative filtering(LECF). LECF predicts the existence probability of an edge based on the connections among edges and is able to capture the complex relationship in data. Specifically, we first adopt the concept of line graph where each node represents an interaction edge; then calculate a weighted sum of similarity between the query edge and the observed edges(i.e., historical interactions) that are selected from the neighborhood of query edge in the line graph for a recommendation. In addition, we design an efficient propagation algorithm to speed up the training and inference of LECF. Extensive experiments on four public datasets demonstrate LECF can achieve better performance than the state-of-the-art methods.

Visual relationship detection aims to locate objects in images and recognize the relationships between objects. Traditional methods treat all observed relationships in an image equally, which causes a relatively poor performance in the detection tasks on complex images with abundant visual objects and various relationships. To address this problem, we propose an attention based model, namely AVR, to achieve salient visual relationships based on both local and global context of the relationships. Specifically, AVR recognizes relationships and measures the attention on the relationships in the local context of an input image by fusing the visual features, semantic and spatial information of the relationships. AVR then applies the attention to assign important relationships with larger salient weights for effective information filtering. Furthermore, AVR is integrated with the priori knowledge in the global context of image datasets to improve the precision of relationship prediction, where the context is modeled as a heterogeneous graph to measure the priori probability of relationships based on the random walk algorithm. Comprehensive experiments are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of AVR in several real-world image datasets, and the results show that AVR outperforms state-of-the-art visual relationship detection methods significantly by up to 87.5% in terms of recall. © 2022 SPIE.
