The study of rigid protein-protein docking plays an essential role in a variety of tasks such as drug design and protein engineering. Recently, several learning-based methods have been proposed, exhibiting much faster docking speed than those computational methods. In this paper, we propose a novel learning-based method called ElliDock, which predicts an elliptic paraboloid to represent the protein-protein docking interface. To be specific, our model estimates elliptic paraboloid interfaces for the two input proteins respectively, and obtains the roto-translation transformation for docking by making two interfaces coincide. By its design, ElliDock is independently equivariant with respect to arbitrary rotations/translations of the proteins, which is an indispensable property to ensure the generalization of the docking process. Experimental evaluations show that ElliDock achieves the fastest inference time among all compared methods and is strongly competitive with current state-of-the-art learning-based models such as DiffDock-PP and Multimer particularly for antibody-antigen docking. © 2024 12th International Conference on Learning Representations, ICLR 2024. Simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) is one of the current research hotspots. However, in visual SLAM for dynamic environments, inaccurate detection of object motion states and incomplete dynamic region culling will lead to large localization errors. To address these issues, this paper proposes an RGB-D SLAM method based on feature association. The method has strongly correlated features in time and space according to the input image sequence. Using the moving probability of the feature points in the previous frame, the movement of the feature points in the current frame is calculated in combination with the dynamic corner points screened in the current frame. Then, the motion state of the object is determined according to the proportion of different feature points. Then combined with semantic information and object depth information, the fast search method is used to obtain accurate dynamic regions. Finally, the selected effective feature points are used to estimate the camera pose and establish a static map of the environment. This paper evaluates the robustness and accuracy of our method on the TUM dataset and real environment, and the results show that our method can significantly improve the system tracking effect and reduce the system tracking error compared with other SLAM methods in dynamic environments. © 2022 IEEE.

Multi-view learning (MVL) is a promising data fusion technique based on the principles of consensus and complementarity. Despite significant advancements in this field, several challenges persist. First, scalability remains an issue, as many existing approaches are limited to two-view scenarios, making them difficult to extend to more complex multi-view settings. Second, implementing consensus principles in current techniques often requires adding extra terms to the model's objective function or constraints, leading to increased complexity. Additionally, when applying complementarity principles, most studies focus on pairwise interactions between views, overlooking the benefits of deeper and broader multi-view interactions. To address these challenges, this paper proposes the multi-view interactive knowledge transfer (MVIKT) model, which enhances scalability by effectively managing interactions across multiple views, thereby overcoming the limitations of traditional two-view models. More importantly, MVIKT introduces a novel interactive knowledge transfer strategy that simplifies the application of the consensus principle by eliminating the need for additional terms. By treating margin distances as transferable knowledge and facilitating multiple rounds of interaction, MVIKT uncovers deeper complementary information, thereby improving the overall effectiveness of MVL. Theoretical analysis further supports the MVIKT model, demonstrating that transferring knowledge through margin distance is capable of lowering the upper bound of the generalization error. Extensive experiments across diverse datasets validate MVIKT's superiority, showing statistically significant improvements over benchmark methods.

Short Text Topic Modeling Techniques, Applications, and Performance: A Survey

Analyzing short texts infers discriminative and coherent latent topics that is a critical and fundamental task since many real-world applications require semantic understanding of short texts. Traditional long text topic modeling algorithms (e.g., PLSA and LDA) based on word co-occurrences cannot solve this problem very well since only very limited word co-occurrence information is available in short texts. Therefore, short text topic modeling has already attracted much attention from the machine learning research community in recent years, which aims at overcoming the problem of sparseness in short texts. In this survey, we conduct a comprehensive review of various short text topic modeling techniques proposed in the literature. We present three categories of methods based on Dirichlet multinomial mixture, global word co-occurrences, and self-aggregation, with example of representative approaches in each category and analysis of their performance on various tasks. We develop the first comprehensive open-source library, called STTM, for use in Java that integrates all surveyed algorithms within a unified interface, benchmark datasets, to facilitate the expansion of new methods in this research field. Finally, we evaluate these state-of-the-art methods on many real-world datasets and compare their performance against one another and versus long text topic modeling algorithm. © 2020 IEEE.

In recent developments within the research community, the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) in creating fully autonomous agents has garnered significant interest. Despite this, LLM-based agents frequently demonstrate notable shortcomings in adjusting to dynamic environments and fully grasping human needs. In this work, we introduce the problem of LLM-based human-agent collaboration for complex task-solving, exploring their synergistic potential. To tackle the problem, we propose a Reinforcement Learning-based HumanAgent Collaboration method, ReHAC, which trains a policy model designed to determine the most opportune stages for human intervention within the task-solving process. We conduct experiments under real and simulated human-agent collaboration scenarios. Experimental results demonstrate that the synergistic efforts of humans and LLM-based agents significantly improve performance in complex tasks, primarily through well-planned, limited human intervention. datasets and code are available at: https://***/XueyangFeng/ReHAC/. © 2024 Association for Computational Linguistics.

This paper focuses on the regulation effect of money market interest rates from monetary policy tools. By employing Time-Varying Parameter Stochastic Volatility Vector Autoregressive model, we comparatively analyze the effects of the Standing Lending Facility (SLF) and the 7-Day Reverse Repurchase Agreements in the Open Market (RR7D) on the 7-Day Repo Rate of Deposit-taking Financial Institutions (DR007). It is found that SLF can marginally improve DR007 in the short term but can effectively lower it in the medium to long term by acting as the ceiling of the interest rate corridor. RR7D can improve DR007 with a stronger impact, compared to the SLF. The effectiveness of these monetary policy tools remains relatively stable under different socioeconomic backgrounds, achieving the intended objectives of the central bank. Finally, the study proposes suggestions, close integration of the interest rate corridor and open market operations in monetary policy regulation, and encourages the use of SLFs to support the high-quality development of the national economy. © 2024 The Authors.

Most of the existing slam algorithms are designed based on the assumption of a static environment, this strong assumption limits the practical application of most slam systems. The main reason is that moving objects will cause feature mismatch in the pose estimation process, which in turn affects the accuracy of localization and mapping. In this paper, we propose a SLAM algorithm in a dynamic environment. First, we use the BlendMask network to detect potential moving objects to generate masks for dynamic objects. The geometrically constrained joint optical flow method is used to detect dynamic feature points. Secondly, aiming at the failure of semantic segmentation network segmentation, a missed detection compensation algorithm based on the invariance of adjacent frame speed is proposed. Finally, a keyframe selection strategy is proposed to construct a semantic octree graph containing only static objects. We evaluate our algorithm on TUM RGB-D and real scene datasets. The experimental results show that the algorithm has high accuracy and real-time performance. © 2022 IEEE.

We present a unified probabilistic formulation for diffusion-based image editing, where a latent variable is edited in a task-specific manner and generally deviates from the corresponding marginal distribution induced by the original stochastic or ordinary differential equation (SDE or ODE). Instead, it defines a corresponding SDE or ODE for editing. In the formulation, we prove that the Kullback-Leibler divergence between the marginal distributions of the two SDEs gradually decreases while that for the ODEs remains as the time approaches zero, which shows the promise of SDE in image editing. Inspired by it, we provide the SDE counterparts for widely used ODE baselines in various tasks including inpainting and image-to-image translation, where SDE shows a consistent and substantial improvement. Moreover, we propose SDE-Drag - a simple yet effective method built upon the SDE formulation for point-based content dragging. We build a challenging benchmark (termed DragBench) with open-set natural, art, and AI-generated images for evaluation. A user study on DragBench indicates that SDE-Drag significantly outperforms our ODE baseline, existing diffusion-based methods, and the renowned DragGAN. Our results demonstrate the superiority and versatility of SDE in image editing and push the boundary of diffusion-based editing methods. Few-shot knowledge graph completion (FKGC) aims to infer unknown fact triples of a relation using its few-shot reference entity pairs. Recent FKGC studies focus on learning semantic representations of entity pairs by separately encoding the neighborhoods of head and tail entities. Such practice, however, ignores the inter-entity interaction, resulting in low-discrimination representations for entity pairs, especially when these entity pairs are associated with 1-to-N, N-to-1, and N-to-N relations. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel FKGC model, named Cross-Interaction Attention Network (CIAN) to investigate the inter-entity interaction between head and tail entities. Specifically, we first explore the interactions within entities by computing the attention between the task relation and each entity neighbor, and then model the interactions between head and tail entities by letting an entity to attend to the neighborhood of its paired entity. In this way, CIAN can figure out the relevant semantics between head and tail entities, thereby generating more discriminative representations for entity pairs. Extensive experiments on two public datasets show that CIAN outperforms several state-of-the-art methods.
