A success of an improvement project on solving a problem in an organization is not only depending an appropriate methodology on problem solving with Lean, TOC or 6 sigma with relevant tools, but also it is very important to have an appropriate methodology and process on change management integrated with project management during the improvement project. This paper describes the principle of change management based on existing literature, and illustrates a case study on how an improvement project apply theory and methodology of change management to make successful change. Firstly, the literature review relevant to concerns for support change in a business environment is introduced. General tools, models, and solutions to make a change effectively in an organization are explained. Next one framework with relevant tools and models are selected to the case study that conducts a manufacturing with ETO (Engineering-to-order) product. Next regarding the readiness for change, and the implementation of the change the paper introduces how the selected framework and the tools and models on change management is integrated with project management during different phases of the improvement project. As a result, it shows a success both from improvement project and change management perspective. In particular, achievement in the change management is not only showing the successful improvement project, but also the organization realizes another great positive change - people's improved behavior on daily work. Hence a long-term benefit from the improvement project and change management is gained. The achievement shows that similar approach on change management in an organization may be applied to more organizations.

Traditional computer portrait caricature system mainly take the method that exaggerate and deform real images directly, that lead the facial image background also been deformed when exaggerate facial image. If in pretreatment stage, we segmented the characters and background of the input image, and then do the subsequent processing, the problem may be solved. But for better portrait caricature effects, we need an excellent segmentation algorithm. So, we propose an improved Grabcut image segmentation algorithm and use it to extract the prospect character image for exaggeration and deformation. In practical application, we separate deform and exaggerate the foreground characters image with TPS method, then fuse it with the original or new background picture, get the final image. Application proves, the method solves the background deformation problem well, and improves the quality and rate of image segmentation, caricature synthesis effect reality and natural. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2015.

The rapidly growing amount of social interaction makes geographical names an important and indispensable medium for people in social and economic exchanges. Especially in today's information age, the frequency of usage of name information has increased greatly. In this paper, a method for the construction of a cities' names database is proposed. This will include the processing of the outcome data from the names pilot survey, the consolidation into the database, the development of the cloud service and management system based on the geographical names and zoning database, and the construction of a relatively complete set of the public service system of geographical names based on a website and touch screen interface. The method has been applied in San Ya, China successfully, and very good results have been obtained. The platform can provide not only accurate and convenient services of geographical names, but also promote its economic development and social progress.

Recently, the real-time synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging technique is a hotspot of research in the field of remote sensing and military applications. As the SAR imaging algorithm is associated with high data and computation intensive, it is suitable for using hybrid storage systems, e.g. A cluster, for the performance acceleration. To design a SAR algorithm with high performance, we need consider a prerequisite to maximize the parallelizability of the algorithm due to multi-level parallelization features of the cluster platform. Focusing on the large-scale data, we explore concurrency characteristics of the SAR imaging algorithm on a hybrid storage system, and propose some parallel optimization techniques to accelerate the SAR imaging algorithm. According to the study, we implement a parallel SAR imaging algorithm and evaluate its performance. Experiment results show that the optimized SAR imaging program has high-speed network utilization, and can realize obvious improvement on the performance.

Pi Calculus, a kind of process algebra has been widely used to describe distributed computation system currently, such as Web service and cloud platform. A variant of Pi Calculus, Pi-beam, is proposed with some imported operators, such as logic- parallels and beam channel. Based on these calculi, in this paper, we introduce a distributed higher-order Pi Calculus with the combination of higher-order and distribution extensions. To describe the mobility of distributed system, we import the distributed ex- tensions, such as domain and migration application;moreover, this calculus is designed into high-order to fit function abstraction and application. These extensions show usability and soundness by the semantic rules and example illustration. © ICIC International 2015.

Short message is one of the most common communication media for mobile subscribers, so major mobile operators are devoted to improve their Short Message Service (SMS). However, the annoying and undesired messages, also named message spam or simply spam, not only worsen the users' experience, but also cause their complaints on SMS. In this paper, we present a novel Chinese SMS spam filtering framework based on AdaBoost algorithm to provide accurate and effective short messages classification. Three content-based weak filters are introduced to boost the performance of final classification decision. Results from Receiver Operating Characteristics (ROC) analysis prove the proposed method has such advantages as higher efficiency and fewer parameters over those established SMS spam filtering methods. The application of the proposed method is expected to block the most spam for mobile subscribers and improve the service quality of SMS. With simple data processing and few training parameters, the proposed method can be applied into the practice of short text classification.

With the rapid development of latest information technology, it is inevitable to apply IoT (Internet of Things), cloud computing and big data into the industrial fields of national key sectors including transportation, electricity, metallurgy, petroleum, chemical, manufacturing, military and so on. Wireless sensor network, industrial Internet, embedded system, software for industrial control and management, and smart terminal are gradually introduced into the industrial systems, which would make the past relatively closed industrial systems more open and intelligent, and contribute to the coming forth industrial revolution. In this paper, the authors mainly discuss issues about cloud Operating system (OS) for industrial application, including cloud computing and cloud operating system introduction, current status analysis of cloud OS and the transformation trend to industrial 4.0. Then, we independently design the main content of this cloud OS, and its application prospect and expected result are given. The study provides theoretical guidance and practical challenge for the development of cloud OS oriented to industrial area.

Modified bat algorithm with Otsu's method for multilevel thresholding image segmentation

The conventional multilevel thresholding methods are inefficient in determining the optimal thresholds due to the exponential growth in computation time. This paper a modified random location bat algorithm is proposed to overcome this shortcoming. The modified random localization (MRL) strategy can enable the bats cover the whole search space. Then, with the help of MRL strategy, the exploratory ability of the bats is improved, and the search efficiency and convergence speed is increased. The proposed algorithm is used to find the optimal thresholds by maximizing the Otsu's objective function, and its performance has been tested on nine standard test images. The experimental results of 100 independent runs illustrate the better solution quality and higher computation efficiency of modified random localization bat algorithm (MRLBA) when compared with the particle swarm optimization (PSO) and bat algorithm (BA). © 2015 American Scientific Publishers.

It is important for a government unit or a company to monitor the intranet security and staffs’ activities during the working time. Collecting and processing massive user behaviors is difficult in the distributed intranet with thousands of hosts. In view of this, this paper proposes a P2P and MongoDB based Intranet User Behavior Control system (PM-IUBC) which consists of the user terminal, the node sliding server overlay, the database cluster and the monitor center. The user behavior control is implemented on the filter driver embedded in the user terminal, and a slice node server overlay is constructed on Pastry. A uniform light weight communication framework is designed to simplify network programming, and a MongoDB with auto shard based log database is configured to store massive user behavior logs. The user behaviors about operating software applications, removable storage devices and files can be monitored and controlled. Experiment results show that PM-IUBC can control the user behaviors and has good concurrency and scalability. © 2015 Journal of Communications.

It has been recognized by many researchers that accurate bus travel time prediction is critical for successful deployment of traffic signal priority (TSP) systems. Although there exist a lot of studies on travel time prediction for Advanced Traveler Information systems (ATIS), this problem for TSP purpose is a little different and the amount of literature is limited. This paper proposes a deep learning based approach for continuous travel time prediction problem. Parameters of the deep network are fine-tuned following a layer-by-layer pre-training procedure on a dataset generated by traffic simulations. Variables that may affect continuous travel time are selected carefully. Experiments are conducted to validate the performance of the proposed model. The results indicate that the proposed model produces prediction with mean absolute error less than 4 seconds, which is accurate enough for TSP operations. This paper also reveals that, except for obvious factors like speed, travel distance and traffic density, the signal time when the prediction is made is also an important factor affecting travel time.
