With the fast development of Internet and its data scale, B2B (Business to Business), whose speed and high availability advantage is based on Internet, is eroding more and more market share of traditional business. In recent years, the new data processing technologies, such as cloud computing, assure the enhancement of computer's computing capacity;it has become possible for researchers to process and analyze the massive business data, including large scale customer data, and large scale commodity information. A new B2B platform frame, based on cloud computing with less running time and better response efficiency, is proposed here to promote transaction handle efficiency. By adoption of complex network theory and cloud computing technology, the new platform has been evaluated to decrease transaction handle time, and make more benefits. © 2012 IEEE.

With the fast development of Internet and data volume increase in Internet, Internet is playing more important role in information spreading in recent years. It is reported that social network is a typical complex network expressed with scale free degree. Emergency cases are happening more and more often in China and all over the world, the governments has realized that it is necessary to monitor and manage the information spreading on social network. In this paper, a new experiment platform frame, which is based on SPA (Spreading Activation) model and social centrality, is proposed to validate the information spreading speed in social network, to help the administration department to manage social network more efficiently. © 2012 IEEE.

To investigate the influences of performance management rules on human behavior in a chemical plant workshop, we construct an artificial workshop. It mainly contains human behavior model, workshop environment model including the definition of work position performance management rules and production events, and their interaction rules. The human behavior model is built based on DISC (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, Compliance) behavior model and the Agent technology. A platform for workshop human behavior computing is finally created for computational experiments on performance management and decision-making. The platform can be used as a support for refined management in the chemical plant. © 2012 IEEE.

To further enhance emergency management skills of an organisation's emergency response personnel, emergency response training, especially 3D emergency drill, is currently becoming more and more important in the petrochemical sector. So, a novel 3D emergency drills system is designed and developed based on ACP approach, which can be used for mocking emergency response plan drills and evaluating the plan. A case study reveals that the performance of the system is good and the system can meet the needs of emergency response training and optimizing emergency response plan in petrochemical plants.

Internet as the fertile ground of free speech, everyone can express their emotions, cognition and views of things via the internet, especially in the era of Web2.0, the occurrence of blog which provides a wider space for personal speech. Internet provides a broad platform for contemporary college students to express thought and emotion, at the same time it provides a channel for education workers to understand students' thought and mental. Through real-time monitoring information on school area network, we can get real-time status, mood and some dynamic data which can portray characteristics of emotion of the concerned entity; also we can abstract the characterization of psychological crisis information, and use this feature to do data mining on these data. In this way we can find group of students which have tendency of psychological CriSIS, and use corresponding psychological crisis intervention online and offline methods to ease students' psychological crisis and to prevent tragic events in timely.

Swarm intelligence is an umbrella for amount optimization algorithms. This discipline deals with natural and artificial systems composed of many individuals that coordinate their activities using decentralized control and self-organization. In general, multi-agent systems that use some swarm intelligence are said to be swarm intelligent systems. They are mostly used as search engines and optimization tools. The goal of this special issue has been to offer a wide spectrum of sample works throughout the world about innovative methodologies of swarm intelligence. In terms of the difficulty of vehicle tracking in complex environment of the visual surveillance system, an object tracking algorithm is proposed for the applications in practical visual surveillance systems for intelligent traffic. A block-based Gaussian mixture background modeling method for object detection is presented to reduce the computational complexity of moving vehicle object abstraction. An adaptive tracking algorithm fused with color features and texture features is described to better adapt the traffic scene variation. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively deal with the complex urban traffic conditions and the tracking performance is better than the conventional particle filter method and single feature based non-adaptive object tracking method.

A computer-supported collaborative learning platform based on clouds

Computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) is an emerging branch of learning science concerned with studying how people can learn together with the help of computers. As an indispensable ingredient, computer mediation evolves through couples of phases, e.g. centralized server, peer-to-peer network, grid computing. Nevertheless, with daily rising trend on requirement's dynamic changes in service, existing models fall short to respond on demand. Thus, in this paper, by taking advantage of cloud computing, we propose a feasible CSCL platform and the experiments show that it can not only fulfill the basic requirement of CSCL, but also respond to learner's dynamic need on demand. Particle swarm optimisation (PSO) is a novel population-based stochastic optimisation algorithm inspired by the Reynolds' boid model. The original biological background of boid obeys three basic simple steering rules: separation, alignment and cohesion. However, to promote a simple update equation, none of these rules of boid model is employed by PSO methodology. Due to the weakness of biological background of PSO, in this paper, a new variant of PSO, boid particle swarm optimisation (BPSO), is designed in which cohesion rule and alignment rule are both employed to improve the performance. In BPSO, each particle has two motions: divergent motion and convergent motion. For divergent motion, each particle adjusts its moving direction according to the alignment direction and the cohesion direction, as well as in convergent motion, the original update equation of the standard version of PSO is used. To make a motion transition, a threshold is introduced to make the divergent motion is employed in the first period, whereas the convergent motion is used in the final stage. To testify the efficiency, several unconstrained benchmarks are used to compare. Simulation results show the proposed variant is more effective and efficient than other two variants of PSO when solving multi-modal high-dimensional numerical problems.
