Monoterpenes have been known to have a critical influence on air quality and climate change through their impact on the formation of fine *** we present field evidence that monoterpene oxidations largely enhanced local ozone production in a regional site in eastern *** observed monoterpene was most likely from biomass burning rather than biogenic emissions,as indicated by the high correlation with CO at night-time,and the observed ratio of these two species was consistent with previously determined values from biomass burning *** monoterpene oxidations were determined experimentally based on direct radical measurements,leading to a daily ozone enhancement of 4-18 parts per billion by volume（ppb）,which was 6%-16% of the total ozone production,depending on the speciation of *** demonstrates that the previously overlo oked anthropogenic monoterpenes make an important contribution to 03 production in eastern *** role could possibly be important at similar locations across China and other parts of the world that are characterized by massive emissions,especially where there are high *** results highlight that anthropogenic monoterpenes should be taken into account when proceeding with the coordinated mitigation of O3and particulate matter pollution.

the DC/AC interaction and the presence of the high nonlinearity in the HVDC links, these problems needs to examine the behavior of the system in steady-state and transient conditions in order to define the great role of protection functions and control parameters. Furthermore, Control and protection systems are a vital part of an HVDC system to guarantee the safety, reliability, and stability of its operation. This research aim is to provide the solutions for control and protection problems that can occur in HVDC link. In this paper, we study how we mitigate this serious malfunction of commutation failure process in the operation of HVDC converters. Indeed some protection functions like the commutation failure prevention. Furthermore, HVDC transmission systems are vulnerable to DC faults and its protection becomes ever more important with the fast growth in the number of installations. Finally, the dynamics of the studied power system including the HVDC link is thoroughly investigated through various simulation scenarios. © 2023 IEEE.

For real-time edge systems such as autonomous driving,not only the correctness of task functions,but also the response and processing time of tasks should be *** the hardware selection phase of a real-time system,time series analyses must be performed on the hardware platform running real-time *** present,the common method of worst-case execution time(WCET)analysis focuses mainly on analyzing the impact of hardware platform architecture or task execution process on the task running ***,different tasks in an autopilot system have different levels of urgency,and preemption between tasks is the main factor that affects the task execution *** key problem is how to quantify the time fluctuation caused by task preemption for each subtask of the autopilot system running on a fixed hardware *** paper presents a time analysis method for a real-time application based on a queuing theory and preemptive scheduling strategy,which assigns different priorities to tasks according to their time urgency and preemptive scheduling according to task *** an experimental case study,the impact of the running time of each subtask in a real-time application with task priority preemptive scheduling is analyzed,along with the impact of changes in hardware platform performance on such real-time applications.

Public bicycle sharing services are becoming popular over the past decade. The behavior of using public bicycle system (PBS) produces numerous hire records involving citizens' movement. This paper presents a visual analytics system-Touching PBSData, to help both traffic administrators and ordinary citizens visually explore and understand PBS data on multi-touch devices. Tasks and design principles are put forward firstly. Four views are designed to show different aspects of the dataset, including the geographical distribution, the spatio-temporal pattern and personal relevant information. In order to enhance the flexibility and usability of system, the organization mode of views and rich user interaction suitable for multi-touch device are further studied. By adopting real PBS dataset, the results of case studies certify that our method is able to help analyzers to find stations' main function and citizens' travel habits. Moreover, the feedback from the participants with various backgrounds is very affirmative through the user study.

This paper addresses the consistency issue of multi-robot distributed cooperative localization. We introduce a consistent distributed cooperative localization algorithm conducting state estimation in a transformed coordinate. The core idea involves a linear time-varying coordinated transformation to render the propagation Jacobian independent of the state and make it suitable for a distributed manner. This transformation is seamlessly integrated into a server-based distributed cooperative localization framework, in which each robot estimates its own state while the server maintains the cross-correlations. The transformation ensures the correct observability property of the entire framework. Moreover, the algorithm accommodates various types of robot-to-robot relative measurements, broadening its applicability. Through simulations and real-world dataset experiments, the proposed algorithm has demonstrated better performance in terms of both consistency and accuracy compared to existing algorithms.

In order to realize the agility,collaboration and visualization of alloy material devel-opment process,a product development platform based on simulation and modeling technologies is established in this *** this platform,the whole-process simulation module builds multi-level simulation models based on metallurgical mechanisms from the production line level,the thermo-mechanical coupling field level and the microstructure evolution *** design knowledge management module represents the multi-source heterogeneous material design knowledge through ontology model,including customers’requirement knowledge,material component knowledge,process design knowledge and quality inspection knowledge,and utilizes the case-based reasoning approach to reuse the *** data-driven modeling module applies machine learning algorithms to mine the relationships between product mechanical properties,material components,and process parameters from historical samples,and utilizes multi-objective optimiza-tion algorithms to find the optimal combination of process *** of the developed platform in actual steel mills shows that the proposed method helps to improve the efficiency of product design process.

Both concentrations and emissions of many air pollutants have been decreasing due to implement of control measures in China,in contrast to the fact that an increase in emissions of non-methane hydrocarbons(NMHCs)has been *** study employed seven years continuous NMHCsmeasurements and the related activities data of Shanghai,a megacity in China,to explore evolution of emissions and effectiveness of air pollution control *** mixing ratio of NMHCs showed no statistical interannual changes,of which their compositions exhibited marked *** resulted in a decreasing trend of ozone formation potential by 3.8%/year(p<0.05,the same below),which should be beneficial to ozone pollution mitigation as its production in Shanghai is in the NMHCs-limited *** alkanes,aromatics and acetylene changed by+3.7%/year,-5.9%/year and-7.4%/year,respectively,and alkenes showed no apparent *** sources were apportioned by a positive matrix factorization ***,vehicular emissions(-5.9%/year)and petrochemical industry emissions(-7.1%/year)decreased significantly,but the decrease slowed down;significant reduction in solvent usage(-9.0%/year)appeared after 2010;however,emissions of natural gas(+12.6%/year)and fuel evaporation(with an increasing fraction)became more *** inconsistency between observations and inventories was found in interannual trend and speciation as well as source contributions,emphasizing the need for further validation in NMHCs emission *** study confirms the effectiveness of measures targeting mobile and centralized emissions from industrial sources and reveals a need focusing on fugitive emissions,which provided new insights into future air policies in polluted region.

In this work, we develop an analytical framework that integrates opinion dynamics with a recommendation system. By incorporating elements such as collaborative filtering, we provide a precise characterization of how recommendation systems shape interpersonal interactions and influence opinion formation. Moreover, the property of the coevolution of both opinion dynamics and recommendation systems is also shown. Specifically, the convergence of this coevolutionary system is theoretically proved, and the mechanisms behind filter bubble formation are elucidated. Our analysis of the maximum number of opinion clusters shows how recommendation system parameters affect opinion grouping and polarization. Additionally, we incorporate the influence of propagators into our model and propose a reinforcement learning-based solution. The analysis and the propagation solution are demonstrated in simulation using the Yelp data set. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Metadata extraction from scholarly PDF documents is the fundamental work of publishing, archiving, digital library construction, bibliometrics, and scientific competitiveness analysis and evaluations. However, different scholarly PDF documents have different layout and document elements, which make it impossible to compare different extract approaches since testers use different source of test documents even if the documents are from the same journal or conference. Therefore, standard datasets based performance evaluation of various extraction approaches can setup a fair and reproducible comparison. In this paper we present a dataset, namely, PARDA(Pdf Analysis and Recognition DAtaset), for performance evaluation and analysis of scholarly documents, especially on metadata extraction, such as title, authors, affiliation, author-affiliation-email matching, year, date, etc. The dataset covers computer science, physics, life science, management, mathematics, and humanities from various publishers including ACM, IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, arXiv, etc. And each document has distinct layouts and appearance in terms of formatting of metadata.
