Under the background of system-of-systems (SoS) counterwork, it is more apparent that the simulation modeling of the equipment should be domain-specific, formal, automatic and composable. Current equipment effectiveness simulation modeling approaches are mainly based on the methods and techniques from the modeling and simulation (M&S) community and software engineering community, and they are not capable to satisfy these four requirements systematically. Thus the systems engineering architecture model and domain knowledge should be used to support effectiveness simulation modeling more effectively. In this research, we propose an architecture-driven modeling method which conforms to the principle of architecture-driven development, uses ontology techniques to build equipment SoS architecture model and sub-domain ontology. This method performs architecture driven simulation modeling to realize the transformation from architecture models to simulation model frameworks;employs ontological metamodeling to design domain-specific modeling languages (DSML) based on the comprehensive usage of architecture models, sub-domain ontologies and M&S formalisms;integrates domain-specific simulation models from various domains using the model framework, and supports the composable development of simulation applications. © 2016 IEEE.

Bayesian Optimization (BO) is a powerful method for tackling expensive blackbox optimization problems. As a sequential model-based optimization strategy, BO iteratively explores promising solutions until a predetermined budget, either iterations or time, is exhausted. The decision on when to terminate BO significantly influences both the quality of solutions and its computational efficiency. In this paper, we propose a simple, yet theoretically grounded, two-step method for automatically terminating BO. Our core concept is to proactively identify if the search is within a convex region by examining previously observed samples. BO is halted once the local regret within this convex region falls below a predetermined threshold. To enhance numerical stability, we propose an approximation method for calculating the termination indicator by solving a bilevel optimization problem. We conduct extensive empirical studies on diverse benchmark problems, including synthetic functions, reinforcement learning, and hyperparameter optimization. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed method saves up to ≈ 80% computational budget yet is with an order of magnitude smaller performance degradation, comparing against the other peer methods. In addition, our proposed termination method is robust in terms of the setting of its termination criterion.

complex system configuration problems are the problems of appropriately assigning system parameter values for optimizing some aspect of complex system performance. In this paper, we first cast complex system configuration problems as mixed-variable parameter optimization problems where mensurable system simulation responses are used for evaluation. Then we present a simulation-based ant colony optimization algorithm (sACO MV ) to tackle the problems. In sACO MV the decision variables of the complex system configuration problems can be clearly declared as continuous, ordinal, or categorical and let the algorithm treat them adequately. Finally, sACO MV is tested on mixed-variable complex engineering system configuration problems. The effectiveness and robustness of sACO MV are demonstrated by the comparisons with results from the literature.

Due to the rapid growth of energy consumption and environmental issue, the use of photovoltaic (PV) power, has attracted many attentions since such energy is renewable and clean. This study proposes a simple yet effective method for PV power prediction in which a dividing-stage strategy is investigated and a hybrid heuristic, denoted as GAPSO (genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization) is applied to optimize the BP (Back-Propagation) neural network. In comparison with GABP neural network, the hybrid GAPSOBP neural network achieves a higher accuracy for PV power prediction. Moreover, by incorporating the dividing-stage strategy into GAPSOBP neural network, the prediction accuracy is improved even further.

With the advent of the information age, the data volumes of various industries are in explosive growth, which increasingly highlights the importance of data. When a disaster occurs, how to recover the data completely and rapidly is one of the important issues receiving common concerns throughout the current industrial and academic circles. Based on the traditional disaster recovery system, this paper researches and implements a PRS algorithm-based distributed disaster recovery system[1, 2] called OsnDDR, which ensures the high availability of the system under the circumstance of continuous disasters or multi-node damage. The system adopts PRS algorithm based on RS erasure code [3] to reduce the storage resource consumption caused by the data redundancy and designs the load balancing strategy to guarantee the load balancing of each disaster recovery center in the system. © 2014 SERSC.

Data generated by various fields are increasing exponentially and thus results in challenges for data performances in both scales of diversity and complexity. The problem how to solve the bottlenecks of low-bandwidth networks has been of fatal significance for all kinds of network status. We present a new approach on improved optimization for data disaster recovery system (DDRS) over low-bandwidth networks that not only aims to improve the defects and deficiencies of mainstream DDRS but also helps ensure the reliable network resources for operators to conduct multi-services. A novel bandwidth self-adaptive approach (BSAA) for data packing replication was essentially established to make contribution to the integral performance improvement. A Hidden Markov Model (HMM) for predicting network status was also built to ensure system availability and stability. Experiments showed that the DDRS over low-bandwidth networks named InfoDr can effectively optimize the workload with better performance and better application self-adaptability for multi-services.

Cities are increasingly vital in global carbon mitigation efforts,yet few have specifically tailored carbon neutrality ***,out-of-boundary indirect greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions,aside from those related to electricity and heat imports,are often overlooked in existing pathways,despite their significance in comprehensive carbon mitigation *** this gap,here we introduce an integrated analysis framework focusing on both production and consumption-related GHG *** to Wuyishan,a service-oriented city in Southern China,this framework provides a holistic view of a city's carbon neutrality pathway,from a full-scope GHG emission *** findings reveal the equal importance of carbon reduction within and outside the city's boundaries,with out-of-boundary emissions accounting for 42%of Wuyishan's present total GHG *** insight highlights the necessity of including these external factors in GHG accounting and mitigation strategy *** framework serves as a practical tool for cities,particularly in developing countries,to craft effective carbon neutrality roadmaps that encompass the full spectrum of GHG emissions.

In this paper, a deep mixture algorithm is developed to support large-scale visual recognition (e.g., recognizing tens of thousands of object classes) by seamlessly combining a set of base deep CNNs (AlexNet) with diverse task spaces, e.g., such base deep CNNs (i.e., diverse experts) are trained to recognize different subsets of tens of thousands of object classes rather than the same set of object classes. Our experimental results have demonstrated that our deep mixture algorithm can achieve very competitive results on large-scale visual recognition.

As a new service paradigm of Software-As-A-Service (SaaS),Business Process-As-A-Service (BPaaS). BPaaS is used to build a cost-effective Business Process Management (BPM) system. Based on universal Artifacts, we develop a framework named SeGA (Self-Guided Artifact). In SeGA, a BPM system is capable of executing business processes from multiple clients, and responding query at runtime. what's more, by the template-based cascading data mapping method, entity to be synchronized with database automatically, so each BP instance can modify its process entity without worrying about the database access. In this paper, we conduct a deep research and implement a prototype system for Artifact process design.
