International and domestic circumstances have led to new opportunities and higher requirements for the development of geographic science in *** this paper,we propose a modified disciplinary structure for geographic science in China in the new *** science in China can be categorized into four secondary disciplines,i.e.,integrated geography,physical geography,human geography,and information geography,according to the current situation and expected *** tertiary disciplines under each secondary discipline are nearly fully developed,and a few quaternary disciplines under the tertiary disciplines are widely accepted and used in *** hope this new disciplinary structure can play a breakthrough role in improving the branches of geographic science,promoting the development of emerging disciplines under the framework of geographic science,and supporting national and international development strategies in the new era.

Achieving China's INDC: Biomass Development and Competition for Land

In order to mitigate the climate change, China submitted its ambitious goal of INDC to the UNFCCC in 2015. In INDC, China has promised to lower the carbon dioxide emission and increase the share of non-fossil fuels in primary energy consumption. Such an emissions trajectory for the China's INDC would require marked development of biomass power. However, there are few research has quantitatively calculated the biomass demand and supply under INDC target. To fill this gap, we developed an integrated model which coupled the MESEIC model and two types of biomass supply database. The study results indicate that, to achieve the INDC target, it is noteworthy that the share of biomass is predicted to increase from 0.18% in 2010 to 10.20% and 20.06% in 2030 and 2050 respectively. However, current field residue in China is not enough to meet the biomass need in the northeast, northwest and south region. In order to meet the biomass need and ensure the food security, the grass land in Inner Mongolia, the forest in Heilongjiang, the grassland in the northwest region and the forest in the south region should be developed to produce biomass material.

Using Sectoral Approach as Complement to the INDC Framework: An Analysis Based on the CGE Model

Although 169 Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDC) have been submitted up to June 2016, there is still around 1.2-1.7 Gillion tons’ CO 2 emission gap in 2030 to realize the 2 °C target. The main objectives of this paper are to analyze the significance and feasibility of conducting a sectoral approach as complement to cover the emission gap on the base of INDC framework. The scenario analysis in this paper take three key sectors, electricity, iron and steel (IST) and cement, into consideration. The results affirmed the earlier judgment that additional sectoral reduction in the electricity sector could significantly reduce global CO 2 emissions. As a result, this study suggests developing consistent sectoral targets for the electricity sector together with the pledged INDC targets. To conduct this sectoral approach, at least 4070.7 million dollars of extra expenditure are required from developed countries to cover the loss of developing countries, but the results of this investment could be as much as 154 million tons’ CO 2 reductions. This paper also concludes with suggestions such as aggressive global mitigation pledges and deeper international cooperation on sectoral technology.

Clean Generation Technologies in Chinese Power Sector: Penetration Thresholds and Supporting Policies

As one of the top energy consumption country, China is under huge pressure of energy security, GHG emission control and environmental protection. Accounting for half of China energy-related emission, Chinese power sector especially need a quick development of clean generation technologies. However, the current developing speed is not enough and the crucial development thresholds of clean generation technologies are poorly understood. For these reasons, this study uses MESEIC (Multi-regional model for Energy Supply system and their Environmental ImpaCts) model to offer a suggested roadmap for Chinese power sector. Through different scenarios, this study sheds light on the penetration thresholds of various clean generation technologies and put forward policy suggestions in different time-scale for breaking out the thresholds. Setting solar power case as an example, the short-term threshold is its generating cost. The suggested solution is enacting promotional policies, such as feed-in tariffs (0.45 RMB/kWh), renewable portfolio standards, renewable energy certificate trading, tax based incentives etc. The long-term threshold is geography limitation, which can be solved by improving the power grid transmission capacity and developing distributed solar energy.

BthyDra+: Towards a Comprehensive Model to Conduct Cross-project Defect Prediction

Cross-project defect prediction (CPDP) is a field of study where researchers need to build a universal model by using within-project data to predict defects on other projects. However, variations in the distribution of source and target projects have an influence on the performance of classifiers. To enable effective cross-project defect prediction, we propose a comprehensive model containing data preprocessing and classifier transferring to construct a better classification space and strengthen the performance of classifiers. In preprocessing step, one baseline is calculated for every dataset from its non-defective samples based on the distance to all other non-defective samples and the data is transformed by using rank function. Genetic algorithm and ensemble learning are selected as the way in transferring step to extract effective representation from source projects and boost the capability of weak classifiers. We use Naive Bayes, Support Vector Machine and Classification and Regression Trees as classifiers and apply this model on five open resource projects (one Apache and four Eclipse projects) and NASA MDP dataset. Selecting accuracy as fitness in genetic algorithm improves the performance of classification. The model we proposed yields similar results and obtains higher precision comparing the within-project models. Meanwhile, it obtains better performance than the state-of-the-art methods on cross-project defect prediction. These results show that our model provides an opportunity to training classifiers by using more samples from different projects. © 2018 Computer Society of the Republic of China. 金属材料中,颈缩失稳通常由表面缺陷或材料不均匀性等潜在扰动引起并随着微结构的演化进一步发展.本文将构型扰动法与考虑辐照效应的晶体塑性本构关系相结合,模拟了辐照前后局部化颈缩和吕德斯带等现象.通过考虑模拟局部化变形中扰动的必要性,发现了外在的几何缺陷和内禀的微结构演化在颈缩过程中的竞争关系.此外,以纯金属铜和奥氏体不锈钢为例研究了辐照硬化效应对颈缩失稳的影响.结果表明,流动应力的增加和功硬化能力的降低是均匀延伸率下降的原因,辐照效应导致的织构软化作用可以忽略.为了解释辐照后低碳钢下屈服点和吕德斯应变同时增加的现象,一种位错脱钉扎和位错与辐照缺陷的交互作用相耦合的塑性变形机制被提出并结合修正的流动方程,很好地模拟出包含屈服下降、应力平台、应变扩展和应变硬化等特征的吕德斯带现象.其中,位错与辐照缺陷的相互作用也可以解释辐照后纯金属材料中发现的扩散颈缩现象.我们的模拟结果既阐明了几何缺陷在颈缩失稳中的重要作用,也为辐照金属中常见的宏观塑性失稳现象提供了清晰的物理图像.

In pushing the social and military developments towards its new frontiers and boundaries are the technologies. As a collection of multiple technologies driven by capability/system requirements, the concept of the Technology system of systems (TSoS) is proposed. This study further investigates the generation, description, modeling and assessment of TSoS. Specifically, the generation of TSoS is based on the hierarchy hypothesis of TSoS. The description of TSoS is based on concept of views with each to describe a part of TSoS. The readiness assessment of TSoS is to assess the comprehensive readiness of a technology group while the satisfaction assessment of TSoS is to obtain a comprehensive and quantitative result on how much a technology (group) can meet the TSoS requirement. A TSoS with 60 technologies is derived from the 2017 US physical year budget estimates and it is further studied to verify the efficiency of the proposed TSoS generation, description, modeling and assessment methodology.

Predicting web service QoS via combining matrix factorization with network location

With the increasing abundance of Web Services across Internet, Quality of Service (QoS)-based service recommendation has become a hot issue. It is necessary to predict the missing values of QoS for service recommendation. Because Web services run on the Internet, their network locations may be anther critical factor for QoS prediction. Although there have existed many works on QoS prediction, few consider the influence of the network locations of users or Web Services. In this paper, we propose a novel collaborative QoS prediction framework with network location-based regularization (NLBR). We first elaborate the popular Matrix Factorization (MF) model for missing values prediction. Then, by taking advantage of the local connectivity between Web services users, we incorporate network location information to identify the neighborhood. We conduct the experiments on a public large-scale real-world QoS dataset, Experiments show that our proposed approaches have the better prediction performance compared with the existed approaches. © 2014 SERSC.

At present, most of the existing methods combine the data from different views mechanically to obtain the latent subspace with complementary information, which not only fails to make full use of the data information from specific perspectives but also brings redundancy. Therefore, we propose a novel multi-view subspace clustering method. It utilizes cycle projection to obtain a subspace construction model. At the same time, by learning the global structure and local manifold structure of this subspace while assigning learnable weights to different views, the consensus information among views and specific information from different views are captured according to the importance of different views. In this way, our method effectively reduces the original noise and redundancy, and further carries out the improvement of complementarity and consistency among views. The proposed method is optimized by using the Augmented Lagrangian Multiplier with Alternating Direction Minimization (ALM- ADM) algorithm. Experiment results on benchmark datasets confirm the effectiveness of our method.

In visual relationship detection, human-notated relationships can be regarded as determinate relationships. However, there are still large amount of unlabeled data, such as object pairs with less significant relationships or even with no relationships. We refer to these unlabeled but potentially useful data as undetermined relationships. Although a vast body of literature exists, few methods exploit these undetermined relationships for visual relationship detection. In this paper, we explore the beneficial effect of undetermined relationships on visual relationship detection. We propose a novel multi-modal feature based undetermined relationship learning network (MF-URLN) and achieve great improvements in relationship detection. In detail, our MF-URLN automatically generates undetermined relationships by comparing object pairs with human-notated data according to a designed criterion. Then, the MF-URLN extracts and fuses features of object pairs from three complementary modals: visual, spatial, and linguistic modals. Further, the MF-URLN proposes two correlated subnetworks: one subnetwork decides the determinate confidence, and the other predicts the relationships. We evaluate the MF-URLN on two datasets: the Visual Relationship Detection (VRD) and the Visual Genome (VG) datasets. The experimental results compared with state-of-the-art methods verify the significant improvements made by the undetermined relationships, e.g., the top-50 relation detection recall improves from 19.5% to 23.9% on the VRD dataset.
